An immersive floral fantasy has taken over ARTECHOUSE in Chelsea
This summer in New York City, experience the unbelievable beauty of nature—without actually having to go outside. Head over to ARTECHOUSE in Chelsea Market now until Labor Day and immerse yourself in a new botanically inspired multi-sensory exhibition, " Blooming Wonders." This pixelated ever-moving landscape featuring psychedelic pink daises, fluttering butterflies and some abstract surpises is accompanied by calming, dreamlike ambient music. The new 40-minute experience lets you hang out inside the 270-degree, floor-to-ceiling 18K-resolution digital canvas inside of the historic market's 100-year-old boiler room, while experiencing the fleeting beauty of spring and summer blooms come to life with immersive, interactive technology. While you're there, don't forget to grab a "Blooming"-inspired drink from the bar upstairs, like their take on an Aperol Spritz (think less Aperol and more "peachy" flavors). After drinks, head downstairs into the main room, find a floor cushion or open bench, enjoy some air-conditioning and get lost in the rich florals. Once you've finished the experience in the main gallery, you can head back upstairs past the bar to the small gallery on display, where you can find two different video games set up for you to mess around with. You can also get a bird's-eye view of the main room over the balcony while you're up there. Plus, it's a great excuse to partake in some shameless people-watching. "Blooming Wonders" builds upon ARTECHOUSE's established history of collaboration between artists (like Refik Anadol, Yuko Shimizu, and Vince Fraser) and outside collaborators (Pantone, the United Nations Foundation, the Society for Neuroscience, and the Nobel Prize Museum) with ARTECHOUSE's own team of designers, architects, producers and storytellers. Together, they are able to bring new concepts to life—making ARTECHOUSE an innovative leader in digital and experiential art. So if you need a break from the heat of the city and are looking for an indoor activity for the day, "Blooming Wonders" is a must-see. You can grab some lunch in Chelsea Market after, or go back for round two at ARTECHOUSE and see their other summer experience: " Rolling Stone Presents: Amplified, The Immersive Rock Experience." General admission tickets start at $24.50. For children, ages 15 and under, tickets are $18 for time-slots before 6pm. Discounted rates are also available for students, seniors, military, first responders, and small groups of 4-9 people. and on site at the venue.

Kids can ride free on NY Waterway ferries beginning this weekend
Starting Saturday, July 5, NY Waterway is letting kids under 12 ride completely free on all ferry routes between New Jersey and Manhattan—no strings attached. The deal runs through Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 1 and applies to a maximum of two kids per paying adult. That means a family of four could get from Weehawken to Midtown without playing credit card roulette at the toll booth. It's all part of NY Waterway's plan to make summer travel more family-friendly—and a lot less stressful than crawling through the Lincoln Tunnel. With open-air top decks, skyline views and zero backseat fighting over who touched who, the ferry is a traffic-free way to reach the city's waterfront playgrounds, museums and ice cream spots. The offer is valid on all NY Waterway routes serving Manhattan from ferry terminals in Weehawken, Hoboken, Jersey City, Edgewater and South Amboy. Riders can skip the parking drama, too—many terminals have low-cost lots or are accessible by Hudson-Bergen Light Rail, NJ Transit or free NY Waterway shuttle buses. And once you dock in Midtown, the fun doesn't stop. Free multi-route shuttles will whisk you off to Times Square, Central Park or anywhere else your post-ferry plans take you. To keep things seamless, riders are encouraged to download the NY Waterway App 4.0, available on the App Store and Google Play. You can purchase, store and activate tickets straight from your phone, which leaves your hands free for sunscreen, Goldfish crackers or just soaking up that sweet Hudson breeze. Whether you're planning a day at the Intrepid, a sunset spin on the High Line or just want to prove to your kids that boats are cooler than Ubers, this summer ferry deal is smooth sailing for the whole crew.

You can get the Hampton's most famous lobster roll in Tribeca this summer
If you've been to out east even once, you know where to lunch in the Hamptons: The Lobster Roll Restaurant, fittingly also known as LUNCH, which opened in 1965 as a small roadside seafood shack on the Napeague stretch of Long Island's East End and has grown into a bit of a status stop for locals, visitors and celebrities craving both cold and hot lobster rolls during their New York summer. And while there's certainly coastal charms to be found out at the original location, as well as its Southampton sibling, the LUNCH crew is making your lobster roll procurement a hell of a lot easier, with no Jitney or LIRR involved: You can conveniently get the restaurant's famed crustacean sandwiches at American Cut in Tribeca this summer. The freshly-cracked summer collaboration features that lobster roll in two forms: as a classic, full-sized LUNCH lobster salad roll served on a brioche bun with a lemon wedge and house-made slaw (available in American Cut's main dining room for $36) or as a "Hamptons Happy Meal (served from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the bar, lounge and outdoor dining area for $28), featuring two mini lobster rolls, your choice of truffle fries or a Caesar salad, with a Ketel One Vodka or Tanqueray Gin Martini. Both seasonal offerings will be available through Labor Day. 'We're thrilled to partner with American Cut to bring the spirit of summer in the Hamptons to Tribeca,' says Andrea Anthony, President of Lobster Roll Inc. 'This collaboration captures the essence of coastal indulgence with a city edge.' And they're not leaving you Hamptons-based folks out of the fun, either: Those out east can join the collaboration on July 18 or 19 at 7 p.m. for an American Cut Dinner Party at The Lobster Roll Restaurant's Southampton location (32 Montauk Hwy). The family-style feast will feature greatest-hit dishes from American Cut, including starters, steaks, sides and dessert paired with an open beer-and-wine bar. Tickets are available on SevenRooms.
