WFP Urges Immediate International Action to Deliver Aid to Starving Civilians in Gaza

DaysofPal – The United Nations World Food Program (WFP) has issued an urgent appeal for international intervention to establish safe and uninterrupted humanitarian corridors into the Gaza Strip, as the humanitarian situation spirals further into catastrophe.
In a statement released today, the WFP emphasized that the deteriorating security situation, ongoing Israeli bombardments, and the lack of protected access routes are severely obstructing the continued delivery of food and essential relief supplies. The agency warned that without immediate action, the humanitarian response in Gaza risks total collapse.
The WFP called on all relevant authorities to expedite the issuance of permits, consistently open border crossings, and provide concrete security guarantees for aid convoys and humanitarian teams. It stressed that secure access must be established immediately to ensure life-saving aid reaches the hundreds of thousands of civilians trapped by siege and war.
The appeal comes in the aftermath of yet another massacre on Wednesday morning, when at least 25 Palestinians were killed by Israeli gunfire while awaiting humanitarian assistance near the Netzarim corridor, south of Gaza City.
According to medical sources, Israeli soldiers fired directly at civilians gathered in the Al-Nabulsi area, fully aware that the crowd was waiting for aid. The attack left 25 dead and dozens more wounded, many of them critically. Al-Shifa Hospital received 10 of the deceased, while Al-Quds Hospital reported receiving 6 additional fatalities and 95 injured individuals.
This latest atrocity follows a disturbing pattern of repeated Israeli attacks on civilians at aid distribution points amid a months-long blockade that has plunged Gaza into famine and medical collapse.
In response, the Gaza Government Media Office issued a forceful statement condemning what it described as systematic targeting of civilians during aid distributions. It accused the so-called 'Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF)' of complicity, alleging that the foundation functions as a tool of the Israeli military to lure starving civilians into deadly ambushes under the pretense of humanitarian assistance.
The statement demanded the immediate shutdown of the foundation's operations in Gaza and called for the urgent and unconditional opening of all crossings to allow aid entry through recognized international organizations such as UN agencies. It further urged the establishment of an international commission of inquiry to investigate what it termed 'massacres at death points.'
As Israeli aggression continues, the humanitarian crisis in Gaza has reached catastrophic levels. Civilians suffer from acute shortages of food, potable water, and medicine, while hospitals operate on the brink of collapse. Amid this escalating crisis, the international community's failure to act decisively has drawn sharp criticism, with the Media Office warning that silence in the face of these crimes amounts to complicity.

Amnesty: EU Refusal to Suspend Partnership Agreement with Israel a 'Cruel Betrayal'

DaysofPal—Amnesty International has accused the European Union of committing a 'cruel betrayal' and described its decision not to suspend the EU-Israel Association Agreement as an 'unlawful step,' amid ongoing serious human rights violations in the occupied Palestinian territories, particularly in the Gaza Strip. In an official statement, the organization said the EU's disregard for Article 2 of the agreement, which stipulates that cooperation must be based on respect for human rights and democratic principles, constitutes de facto complicity in Israel's persistent violations. The EU-Israel Association Agreement, signed in 1995 and in force since 2000, aims to strengthen political and economic cooperation between the two sides, with a clear commitment to fundamental values, especially human rights. Amnesty International added: 'Israel continues to carry out unlawful attacks on civilians in Gaza and maintains a suffocating blockade on the Strip, in blatant violation of international humanitarian law.' The organization stressed that maintaining political and economic ties without accountability undermines the EU's credibility as a global advocate for human rights. Other rights groups, including Human Rights Watch, have joined the call for the EU to suspend the agreement. More than 30 members of the European Parliament have also demanded that the EU activate the agreement's accountability clauses and condition any future cooperation on ending violations and full compliance with international law. Amnesty concluded its statement by warning that continuing this partnership without conditions sends a dangerous message, that violations can go unpunished. 'This is unacceptable in a world that claims to stand for justice and human rights,' the organization said. Shortlink for this post:

Hamas: Famine in Gaza has Reached Catastrophic Levels, Immediate Action Needed

DaysofPal-The Hamas Movement warned on Thursday that famine in the Gaza Strip has reached dangerous levels, threatening the lives of hundreds of thousands of residents amid a blockade that has lasted for over 21 months, and the ongoing Israeli aggression against the territory. In a press statement, Hamas said that the Israeli occupation is deliberately using a policy of 'starvation and denial of basic necessities' as a tool of genocide, describing it as 'one of the most horrific crimes committed against children and innocent civilians in modern times.' Hamas strongly criticized the silence of the international community and its institutions, particularly the UN Security Council, stating that ignoring the ongoing humanitarian catastrophe 'sets a dangerous precedent that reinforces the logic of lawlessness and contempt for international and humanitarian laws.' The Movement called on Arab and Islamic countries and the United Nations to take immediate action to pressure for the lifting of the siege imposed on Gaza and to allow the urgent entry of food and humanitarian aid. It emphasized the urgent need to end the cycle of killing, genocide, and brutal starvation. Shortlink for this post:

15 Palestinians Killed on the 651st Day of Israeli Genocide in Gaza

DaysofPal-At least 15 Palestinians were killed and dozens more wounded in ongoing Israeli airstrikes across the Gaza Strip since early Friday morning, as the Israeli occupation forces continue their relentless assault for the 651st consecutive day—a campaign widely described as a genocidal war against the besieged population of Gaza. According to Safa News Agency, four civilians were killed and several others injured in an Israeli airstrike targeting the Jabalia al-Nazla area in northern Gaza. Meanwhile, Mohammad Jamal al-Sabbagh succumbed to injuries sustained days earlier when Israeli warplanes bombed his home in the Al-Zarqa neighborhood of eastern Gaza City. In southern Gaza, rescue teams recovered two unidentified bodies from under the rubble in the al-Shakoush area, northwest of Rafah. In Khan Younis, five people were killed and more than 10 others injured after Israeli forces targeted the home of the Abu Sahloul family in the refugee camp. Additionally, five civilians were killed and others injured when Israeli forces bombed tents sheltering displaced families west of Khan Younis. In another attack, Abdul-Mu'ti Musab Yassin and his mother, Yasmin Yassin, were killed when an Israeli drone struck Al-Hanawi School, near the Asda'a prison in northwest Khan Younis. Local sources also reported that Israeli forces demolished several homes in eastern Gaza City for the second time, as part of a broader policy of widespread destruction. Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli occupation has been waging a devastating war on Gaza, resulting in over 195,000 Palestinians killed or injured, the majority of whom are women and children. More than 10,000 people remain missing, while hundreds of thousands have been displaced amid a worsening humanitarian catastrophe and famine that has claimed the lives of many, including dozens of children.
