15. A splurge-worthy smart Oura Ring Gen 4 that can track steps, sleep, and *so* much more, making it a great alternative to that one watch if you want movement and sleep data without the bulk of a wrist device. Plus, this adjusts your movement goals to your sleep data, so if you had a not-so-great night, it calibrates accordingly. (A WIN IS A WIN.)
Target
I've had my Gen 3 for about a month, and I can absolutely say it is WORTH IT. I never bonded with smart watches, but this is so sleek and unobtrusive, I've really loved having it. The app is easy to navigate and the data is truly astounding. I love seeing how much deep sleep I've gotten but also that the tech adjusts your activity goals to match the good (or not so good) sleep you got the night before. You *do* need a subscription to access most of the features after the first month, but reviewers (AND ME) attest that it's worth it!
Promising review:" Best sleep tracker. I'm new to Oura ring. I always assumed I wouldn't see any value in wearing one as an Apple Watch user. While some metrics are still calibrating, I'm impressed by the depth of the insights and recommendations compared to my watch. I'm also pleased with the battery life." — Jacob M
16. A portable space heater perfect for anti-cold gremlins who want to heat up their bedroom to their ideal sleeping temp without roasting their entire home.

Price: $44.99
17. A 6-inch Kindle that's a new TikTok fave and Amazon's lightest, most compact e-reader yet. This is truly a WONDERFUL size if you happen to wake up in the middle of the night and want some e-ink screen time instead of glaring-bright-white-light-in-your-dark-room screen time. (Ask me how I know.)
Here is one of my most FAVORITE cozy creators on TikTok talking about why she loves her new lil' Kindle (and in particular for middle-of-the-night wakings)!
Promising review: " I love physical books, but as a working mom of four ( one being a baby), I wanted something I could throw into my bag and go. That was compact and charged well. I absolutely love my new Kindle. I'm on my fifth book this week!!!" — Mamaoffour
18. A collared pajama set so you can be your most comfy self when slipping into bed.
Target
20. A bag of Dr. Teal's Epsom salt sleep soak which belongs by the bathtub of any sleep-lover keen on perfecting their shuteye conditions. This salt smells divine, and with a blend of lavender, chamomile, and melatonin, it *may* just help make you feel a little calmer before bedtime.
21. A weighted knit blanket reviewers swear is the snuggle companion of dreams in weight, softness, and cuteness.
Target
Read more about how to choose a weight and what these blankets help with and how from Cleveland Clinic.
Promising reviews:"Oh this is so plush at the fraction of some more big box stores selling them for way more. Its weighted but not uncomfortable which is why I love it, it doesn't feel like its crushing you. Anthro looks at target price? Win win! Buy it, you wont regret it!" — Hols
"This is the 3rd weighted blanket I have tried and by far my favorite. Compared to traditional weighted blankets, the knitted design is elegant. It's not only functional, but a statement piece. The flexible knitted design also provides even weight distribution across my entire body creating a hugging sensation that prevents me from tossing and turning throughout the night. Unlike blankets filled with beads, this one is virtually silent as you move it. There are no distracting rusting sounds, allowing for uninterrupted sleep. Thanks to the knit pattern, this blanket also excels at temperature regulation and not trapping excessive heat. This blanket is fit for all seasons. My favorite feature is that it is perfectly oversized which gives me the freedom to sleep in any position i find comfortable while still enjoying the pressure of the blanket. The only drawback I've noticed is the light color, which makes me a bit more cautious about potential stains, especially since there's no removable cover. However, with proper care, I'm confident this blanket will continue to be a staple in my nightly routine." — Julia
22. A box of Celestial Seasonings Sleepytime Extra tea I *always* have in my cabinet because it tastes like bedtime. Sometimes, I think our human brains just need a repetitive routine to tell our bodies IT'S BEDTIME, and this is certainly part of mine.
Target
23. An itty bitty Nanit sound machine obviously perfect for parents, but also: I have taken this from my "kid travel kit" for my own uses. And those uses are I'm gonna take a cozy winter nap or read my cozy book and I don't wanna hear my neighbors blowing leaves while it happens. This one is perfectly sized, too, so if you're not keen on having a big machine permanently on your nightstand, this one can be easily tidied away.
I got the Nanit traveling bundle for taking my preschooler out on overnight adventures (which absolutely should be in any small-children-havers cart for fall travels) and quickly grew enamored with the Polly Pocket-ness of the sound machine, and now even my kiddo calls it "Mama's good friend." I use it for naps or for white noise buffer if I'm working in my office and joyful-but-loud chaos is happening with my son and partner outside the doors.
24. A cotton top mattress pad to give your mattress a little protection and a whole lot of fluff. If you're on the brink of needing a new mattress but aren't quite ready to crack open the piggy bank, this might extend the life (and your comfort!) a surprising amount.
Target
Promising reviews:"Absolutely love this mattress pad! It's a little puffy, and feels like a treat to sleep on below cotton sheets. My Temperpedic mattress sleeps very warm, and this pad provides a solution with the cotton covering. Very pleasant and cooling!" — ChiChi
"This mattress pad fits my king size bed great. It washed up and dried nicely. The filling will add an extra level of comfort to my sleeping experience. Couldn't be happier with my purchase!" — Mimito5
25. And finally, a weighted dragon plush perfect for kids and adults who want a comforting, plush presence to cuddle.
Target
Read more about their weighted blanket cousins and how they help with sleep from Cleveland Clinic.
Promising review:"He is so cute!! This little dragon is a great sleeping buddy and he's just right, not too heavy, not too light! Honestly he's so good I would contemplate buying a different too!! Great for side sleepers not just little kids!" — Kimberly
Price: $20 (also available as a dinosaur, a pegasus, a chicken, and more!)

You Should Get All Those Switch 2 Accessories Now Before They Get Even More Expensive

The situation surrounding Trump tariffs hasn't eased its pressure on Nintendo. Even as the Switch 2 has become one of the fastest-selling consoles ever, the Mario maker said that select Switch 2 accessories may see price 'adjustments' starting Aug 3. Not only that, but the original Switch and Switch OLED could cost more going forward. I guess we shouldn't say we told you so, but even we didn't expect to witness original Switch models selling for $40 or $50 more than before. In a news post, Nintendo said U.S. customers can expect certain accessories, select amiibo, and the cute Alarmo bedside clock to all get more expensive in the next few days. After Nintendo fully revealed the Switch 2 in May, the company delayed preorders for North American customers and blamed the wide-reaching tariffs for the issue. While the console maker decided not to hike Switch 2 prices, it raised prices on the Switch 2 Pro Controller, Joy-Con 2 split controllers, and the official Switch 2 Camera peripheral by $5 each. We can expect some console extras to cost more, but we'll have to see which amiibos Nintendo decides to hike. We can assume the DK and young Pauline figurine for Donkey Kong Bananza is first in line. New Switch pricing in the U.S. (from Target) OG Switch $299 -> $339OLED Switch $349 -> $399Lite Switch $199 -> $229 — Nintendeal (@Nintendeal) August 1, 2025Nintendo said its games shouldn't cost any more after Aug. 3. That's not much of a relief considering the company is already pushing some titles for $70 or as much as $80. If some gamers were already suffering consternation surrounding the Switch 2's $150 jump from the original Switch to the Switch 2, the divide is already starting to shrink. Digital deals hunter Wario64 spotted that Target had already increased prices for the 8-year-old console. A Switch Lite went from $200 to $220. The original Switch now costs $40 more at $340. The fan-favorite Switch OLED, which was priced at $350 on launch, now sells for $400. Nintendo Joy-Con 2 (L)/(R) Light Blue/Light Red currently $94.99 (will increase to $99.99 this weekend according to Target) Amazon Best Buy GameStop #ad — Wario64 (@Wario64) August 1, 2025Target prices indicate the Switch 2 Pro Controller won't get a price hike, but both the Joy-Con 2 and the original Switch Joy-Con controllers will now cost more at $100 and $90, respectively. Alarmo will now cost $110, while prices on accessories, like the original Joy-Con charging stand, will go up by $5. The price hikes come on the heels of Nintendo declaring the Switch 2 had sold more than 6 million units globally in the first seven weeks after release—around July 24. The company said in its latest financial results that it sold nearly as many copies of Mario Kart World, though that includes the software downloads from the $500 Switch 2 and Mario Kart bundle. Nintendo didn't offer nearly as much data on its peripheral sales, though original Switch sales were already declining before the Switch 2 release. A more expensive console won't do Nintendo's older systems any favors. Either way, if you still had plans to grab a few Switch 2 accessories, you best do so now before they cost you even more.

Found: The Perfect Holiday Shoe You Can Wear Everywhere, Including The Office

The messaging surrounding what to wear at this time of year might speak primarily to European getaways, beach days and wedding ceremonies, but the reality most of us live out is more complex. Sure, there's your five days in Sicily booked, but there's also six deadlines and that yearly review that crops up mid August. We can't abandon all commitments just because it's the last month of the summer. Sob. The toing and froing that comes with the eighth month of the year manifests most in our footwear, especially if the weather on home soil is more than fine. Investments in new shoes need to work as hard as our passports (or office passes) as we switch between on and off modes. Shoes need to be able to walk into a beach bar and thrive as much as they need to be able to take us comfortably through the now extra-sticky commute and into whatever that day's schedule has in store. So, with this in mind I got to searching for a summer sandal that could do it all. As an ELLE editor, my starting place for most trends and must-haves is the catwalk. But, not this time. I searched through my usual go-to sites for such things and spent a couple of lunchtimes strolling the stores close by to our central London office. Nothing jumped out, ticking a few of my criteria rather than all of them. Then, when researching another feature I spotted Miu Miu's leather clogs on its SS25 catwalk. This wasn't the first time I'd seen the slip-on sandals, but it was the first time I'd considered them the solution to my midsummer footwear find. The shoe, available in a selection of shades of patent or suede leathers, is a simple clog-like style that feels at once a classic and a fresh option that moves away from the dad sandals that have dominated the summer footwear market for — forgive me — far too long. On the runway, it was worn with white cotton skirts, classic beige raincoats (Brit-summer approved), and in the case of Cara Delevingne's runway look: a black patent skirt suit. Together, these ensembles were enough proof that it would work with so much of what I plan on wearing for the rest of the summer. And despite it being a 'trendy' catwalk shoe, the nostalgic design felt enduring, which makes up for its three-figure price tag in that I can be sure I'd return to it summer after summer. I'm very into my cost-per-wear these days. Choosing which colourway to go for came next. Black patent felt like the most sensible option, while brown suede offered an extra note on texture for summer layering. In the end, it was the red patent that felt like the best for me and my wardrobe. I often find myself turning to hints of scarlet in summer — gingham, floral silk scarves, a does-it-all scrunchie — and so this pair would round out that equation. I chose my usual size and found them easy to break in and get to wearing here, there and everywhere fast. Of course, this being Miu Miu and so the idea of a simple shoe worn simply feels at odds with its bookish-meets-sexy-meets-sporty ideology. Enter the accompanying demi socks. Yep, demi socks. The wearing of the instep coverings feels as crucial to the sandal as the sandal themselves. Doing little more than hiding your instep (or up to the knee if you wish), the accompanying socks, which come in a three pack, add a directional element that feels at once completely unnecessary and entirely essential to fulfilling Mrs Prada's original style directive. Choose colours that feel purposefully obtuse. Lime green worn with red feels particularly potent, but I might have to go back for the rosy pink ones. What is left to be said about this clog-style shoe is that like anything with a strong wooden sole, there is a little noise about them. They're not so much clip-clop, but a gentle tap is there with every step. Does it bother me? Not at all. I'm happy to make a little commotion for and with these wear-everywhere summer sandals.
