Areas such as Bahadurgarh, Manesar, Loni Dehat, Hindon Air Force Station, Ghaziabad, Indirapuram, Chhapraula, Noida, Greater Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad, and Ballabhgarh are likely to experience rain and cloudy skies through the day. The IMD expects the maximum temperature to remain between 31–33 degrees Celsius, with a minimum of around 26 degrees Celsius. Light rain is likely to persist in the region until August 8. Delhi's air quality remains satisfactory Despite the rainfall, Delhi's air quality continued to be in the 'satisfactory' range. According to data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 79 at 7 am on August 3, slightly higher than the AQI of 74 recorded the previous day. According the the central pollution control board (CPCB) norms, an AQI of 0–50 is categorised as 'good', 51–100 as 'satisfactory', 101–200 as 'moderate', 201–300 as 'poor', 301–400 as 'very poor', and 401–500 as 'severe'. Heavy rainfall forecast for northeast India While the IMD has forecast light rain for Delhi-NCR, it has also issued alerts for heavy to very heavy rainfall in the Northeast over the next seven days. Streets Waterlogged After Heavy Rain In Delhi, 'Yellow' Alert Issued
New Delhi: Heavy rainfall lashed several parts of Delhi on Sunday, bringing relief from humidity but also leading to waterlogging in various areas across the national capital. Rainfall was also reported in areas such as Janpath, Lajpat Nagar and the Minto Bridge, a day after heavy showers affected routine life across parts of the city. "Light to moderate rainfall accompanied by light thunderstorm and lightning is very likely to occur at NCR (Bahadurgarh, Manesar). Light rainfall is very likely to occur over the entire Delhi-NCR, including Loni Dehat, Hindon AF Station, Ghaziabad, Indirapuram, Chhapraula, Noida, Greater Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad, and Ballabhgarh," the IMD said in a post on social media platform X. On July 29, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal criticised the BJP-led government in Delhi, headed by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, over persistent waterlogging issues in the capital. Mr Kejriwal shared a purported video of waterlogging at Connaught Place, questioning the performance of what he termed the "four-engine" government. In a post on social media X, Mr Kejriwal remarked that it was "hard" to believe the conditions of the heart of Delhi, Connaught Place. "When this is the condition of Connaught Place, the heart of Delhi, it's not hard to imagine the state of the rest of Delhi. Just 10 minutes of rain and the roads have turned into ponds. In 5 months, where has the BJP brought Delhi to? Is this the speed of the '4-engine' government?" his post read. The heavy rain in the national capital has led to widespread waterlogging, inconveniencing residents and office-goers alike. On the same day, AAP leader Saurabh Bhardwaj also took a swipe at Delhi Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena and Public Works Department Minister Parvesh Verma over their earlier claims of effective waterlogging control measures. In a post on X, Mr Bharadwaj sarcastically remarked, "This is Delhi's ITO. On July 9, LG Sahab and PWD Minister Parvesh Verma had come here to inspect the waterlogging work, congratulating each other for the good work. Today, with waterlogging again, please accept my congratulations as well." On Tuesday, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta inspected the waterlogging situation at the ITO area. She said clear instructions had been issued to officials for effective drainage arrangements. "Today, a surprise inspection of the waterlogging situation was conducted in ITO. Interacted with local people to gather information about the actual situation. Clear instructions have been given to officials to ensure proper arrangements for prompt water drainage during heavy rainfall," Ms Gupta posted on X. "The Delhi government is identifying all those areas in the capital where waterlogging occurs repeatedly during the rains. Work is being expedited on a plan for modern drainage systems, real-time monitoring, and rapid response units to provide permanent solutions at these locations. Our goal is- a Delhi where the monsoon becomes a relief, not a trouble," she said.

Delhi-NCR wakes up to battering rain; waterlogging, flight delays reported
New Delhi and its adjoining areas woke up to heavy rainfall on Sunday, resulting in severe waterlogging across several parts of the city, disrupting road transport and affecting flight to flight tracker FlightRadar, 90 departing flights and 26 arriving flights were delayed at Delhi International Airport, while three flights had been cancelled. These states have already been battered by incessant rain, landslides, and flash floods since the monsoon intensified in the Uttarakhand, a heavy rain alert has been issued for Dehradun, Tehri, Pauri, Nainital, Bageshwar, and Udham Singh Nagar. Residents in hilly regions, landslide-prone areas, and near rivers have been advised to remain rain accompanied by thunder and lightning are expected across several districts of Arunachal Pradesh over the next 24 hours.
