London's massive summer theatre ticket sale has just extended – here are the best deals
Anyway, great news: Theatreland's latest sale – aka The Big Summer Theatre Event – has just announced it'll be extending until the end of the week, and to be fair you should snap this one up as it's reasonably likely to be the last one until September.
It's also a great time to grab a bargain: the summer months can be challenging for theatres, especially if the weather's good, so a show that might be sold out in the autumn could be offering some nice prices right now.
As ever the concept is simple: go to the Big Summer Theatre Event booking portal before the end of the sale and book a ticket. Some shows you'll be able to grab a bargain for pretty any performance you want; some will be rocking a very specific limited term reduction. Either way, there are bargains to be had across the board, from long-runners like Matilda, Wicked and Tina to newer shows like Titanique, Starlight Express and a chance to catch Imelda Staunton in Mrs Warren's Profession. But don't forget – you need to book by Sunday.

'Divine' perfume that's 'the most complimented ever' slashed by 50% at Boots
Ariana Grande seems to have another perfume hit on her hands. Vanilla-based perfumes have become all the rage recently. For those who don't want to wade through all the bottles on offer, we know one that is said to be "the most complimented ever." Some might think it is a luxury brand, but it is instead a celebrity fragrance, with LOVENOTES Vanilla Suede by Ariana Grande being lauded in reviews as a "new favourite" by devoted fans. Fans of the Wicked star who have been wanting to try it out can do so for less, as a decent-sized 125ml bottle has been reduced at Boots from £75 to £37.50 - a staggering 50 percent saving off the RRP. Before we get into the perfume itself, it is worth noting that the LOVENOTES collection was only launched by Ariana in 2024 as a "love letter to the world", with the vanilla-based scent being an exclusive to the UK only. The Vanilla Suede perfume is said to be a "richly sensorial fragrance" that clings to the wearer like a "second skin", with many positive shoppers saying they can still smell it on their clothes "days" after the first spritz. LOVENOTES by Ariana Grande Vanilla Suede, 125ml £75 £37.50 Boots Buy here Product Description The fragrance opens on sparkling notes of Italian bergamot before developing into an "intimate warmth" with creamy sandalwood and rice milk. The vanilla bean and musk at the end are said to push the fragrance into a "skin-like appeal." Another popular fragrance that places a heavy focus on vanilla is the iconic YSL Black Opium Eau de Parfum (50ml) that is also on offer at Boots, with it now costing £55.20, down from £69. Over at the Perfume Shop, an 80ml bottle of Carolina Herrera's Good Girl Blush costs £75, and it's another scent that boasts vanilla-heavy notes, alongside the likes of ylang-ylang and rose. Despite being relatively new to the market, LOVENOTES by Ariana Grande Vanilla Suede has already earned a 4.5 rating from devoted fans who have advised that it is ideal for "any age" and always get compliments "every single time." One five-star review read: "Unlike some other perfumes, I could actually smell this one on myself and randomly got hit with the wonderful smell at least 2/3 times an hour. I smelt this one on my clothes for days even after washing them. The smell itself is lovely, it's sweet but also has vanilla. I love this and would recommend this to anyone of any age." A second delighted shopper said: "I bought this in the black Friday sale and it's nearly finished ! Can't believe how good it is, my most complimented perfume ever. Get asked what I'm wearing every single time I wear it. Definitely one you need to wear to appreciate." Someone else praised: "I'm a huge fan if Ariana Grande and would ALL of her perfumes no matter their scent, but this one is just incredible and stands out from the rest of het perfumes! It is a very mature vanilla scent and lasts for a long time. You definitely get your moneys worth! Would 100 percent recommend!!!!" Beauty deal of the week YSL Black Opium remains an iconic perfume - and we know where to bag the newest edition for its cheapest price. The YSL BLack Opium Le Parfum offers a more vanilla-heavy fragrance that has been hailed as "intoxicating" in reviews, with a 50ml now half-price at Boots after being dropped from £115 to £57.50. Massive saving aside, it's the cheapest it can be bought for at the moment, as rival retailers Superdrug, Lookfantastic and The Perfume Shop still stock it at full-price. This interpretation of the iconic perfume was only launched in 2022, with its original floral gourmand fragrance still offering its famed notes that include pear accord, green mandarin, orange flower petals, jasmine sambac and cinnamon. However, the iconic coffee accord has been twisted with four different, yet still complimentary, notes of vanilla, which is said to be its most important ingredient, to create an "unexpected smoothness, with uncompromising intensity." Meanwhile, the unique glossy bottle that has been crafted from a precious black stone, with its dazzling glitter emblem at the heart, eludes to the luxuriousness of the fragrance contained within. As for the YSL Black Opium Le Parfum, Boots shoppers wanting to take advantage of the half-price discount will be glad to hear it has amassed a 4.7 rating from thousands of customers who say it "lasts all day" and "literally turns heads" when it is worn. One five-star review read: "I love the fragrance. I used a lot the first time, not realising how intense it was. It lasts all day and continues to smell great. I literally turn heads when I wear it." Don't miss Boots' half-price discount on the YSL Black Opium Le Parfum (50ml) that is now £57.50, down from £115. One perfume fan did advise that it was a little too strong for them, writing: "Like it but it might be just a bit too strong for me." Although, more shoppers were impressed, as another wrote: "Theeee most sophisticated and mature ari fragrance! Definitely mod vanilla's older sister. So soft and delicate, and it lasts all day. I've already bought a second bottle because it was 20 percent off!" Purchase the LOVENOTES by Ariana Grande Vanilla Suede for £37.50, down from £75, at Boots now.
