Oracle's Safra Catz Quietly Tops Bezos With $1.8 Billion Stock Sale
While Jeff Bezos made headlines unloading Amazon shares on his wedding day, the real heavyweight move in insider stock selling came from someone far less flashyOracle (ORCL, Financials) CEO Safra Catz. In the second quarter alone, Catz exercised and sold stock options worth more than $1.8 billion; that's more than double Bezos' $737 million. And if you add her earlier $706 million sale from Q1? She's sitting on a $2.5 billion haul for the year so far. Warning! GuruFocus has detected 8 Warning Signs with ORCL. These are monster numbers; and they come without the spectacle or media frenzy that usually follows billionaire sales. Catz, known for her quiet but razor-sharp leadership style, now ranks as 2025's top insider seller, according to Washington Service. The move also lifted her personal net worth to $4 billion, Bloomberg's Billionaires Index says; a major leap even in a year filled with eye-popping payouts. Why does this matter? Because it's not just a personal payday; it signals confidence, timingand maybe a little strategy. Catz has been with Oracle for decades; she knows the company's cycles inside and out; and if she's cashing out at this scale, investors and analysts alike will be watching closely. Notably, this was no offload driven by headlines; no emotional gesture; just a seasoned executive making a massive movequietly, efficiently, and with billions on the line. AbbVie (ABBV) Updates 2025 EPS Guidance with $823M IPR&D Expense
AbbVie Inc. (NYSE:ABBV) is one of the 7 most undervalued pot stocks to buy according to analysts. On July 3, the company provided an update to its 2025 earnings guidance to account for a pre-tax acquired in-process research and development (IPR&D) and milestones expense of $823 million in the second quarter of 2025. This expense is expected to reduce both GAAP diluted earnings per share (EPS) and adjusted non-GAAP diluted EPS by $0.42 for the second quarter. Also, the company updated its full-year 2025 adjusted diluted EPS guidance to a range of $11.67 to $11.87, incorporating the $823 million IPR&D expense. A healthcare professional wearing a health communications device discussing patient data with a colleague. According to the update, the $823 million expense is related to acquired IPR&D, typically incurred through collaborations, licensing agreements, and asset acquisitions. AbbVie stated that such costs are not routinely forecasted due to the uncertainty surrounding their timing and occurrence. This IPR&D expense is part of AbbVie's broader strategy to bolster its pipeline through acquisitions and collaborations. AbbVie Inc. (NYSE:ABBV) is a diversified healthcare company with a modest cannabis connection through its legacy drug, Marinol, a synthetic THC treatment for nausea and appetite loss. It also holds patents related to cannabis, including uses for cancer treatment, juvenile arthritis, and skin disorders. While we acknowledge the potential of ABBV as an investment, we believe certain AI stocks offer greater upside potential and carry less downside risk. 'We See You. We Thank You.' Convenience Stores Nationwide Honor First Responders During Annual 24/7 Day
ALEXANDRIA, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--On Thursday, July 24, the U.S. convenience store industry will unite for the seventh annual 24/7 Day, a nationwide celebration recognizing everyday heroes—including first responders, EMTs, doctors, nurses, 9-1-1 professionals and American Red Cross volunteers—who serve our communities around the clock. Organized by the NACS Foundation, the day offers a visible show of gratitude from an industry also known for its 24/7 support of communities. Convenience stores act as lifelines in times of crisis—offering first responders a place to assess emergency situations, recharge, reconnect and stay fueled. This celebration is about honoring a shared commitment to the communities we both serve. This year's theme 'We See You. We Thank You.' speaks to the often-unheralded work that first responders do—running toward disasters when others must evacuate or flee. The national 24/7 Day celebration raises awareness and recognizes these heroes from one of their largest supporters—convenience store retailers and industry suppliers. Across the country, more than 90 convenience retailing companies and brands representing 35,000 stores will have unique offers (such as free coffee, free meals or branded merchandise) for first responders and Red Cross volunteers in uniform or with a valid badge. The event will also raise awareness of and donations for the Red Cross. As part of this year's celebration, the NACS Foundation debuted its First Responder of the Year Award program, honoring outstanding individuals who go above and beyond in service to their communities. The winner will be selected from nationwide nominations and receive free gas for a year, thanks to NACS Foundation partner GSTV. Like all the initiatives that are part of 24/7 Day, this specific spotlight for local heroes and their stories on a national stage gives the convenience store industry a meaningful way to thank and celebrate the people who keep their local communities safe every day. 'Convenience stores often serve as lifelines in times of crisis—offering first responders a place to assess emergency situations, recharge, reconnect and stay fueled,' said Kevin O'Connell, executive director of the NACS Foundation. 'This celebration is about honoring a shared commitment to the communities we both serve.' Participating retailers each support 24/7 Day with a tailored offer to first responders.
