Keanu takes on Cadillac
Canadian screen actor Keanu Reeves, a motorsport fan, is to present a multi-episode production that will focus on the team's development of staff, cars and race team through a two-year process.
Cadillac was confirmed as the sport's 11th team for 2026 in March. Reeves, 60, presented the Emmy award-winning 2023 documentary on Ross Brawn's eponymous team's success in beating the odds to win the title in 2009.
"Reeves rejoins the production team from North One with his own KR+SH production company for this new series, serving as host and executive producer mere months after his International Emmy-award win for the acclaimed Disney+ docuseries Brawn: The Impossible Formula 1 Story," producers said in a statement, as per The Hollywood Reporter.
According to the creative team, the docuseries promises "to capture the ultimate story of sporting jeopardy in the high-octane world of Formula 1 and offer audiences a trackside seat for the whole ride."
The star of Speed and The Matrix said he felt honoured and excited to tell the Cadillac story and "bring audiences into the heart of this journey and to showcase what it takes to participate in one of the most exclusive sports arenas in the world."
Reeves, who has an extensive collection of motorcycles and has taken part in a professional car race, the Toyota GR Cup, in Indianapolis, is not expected to follow Pitt's example and sample the thrill of driving an F1 car.
Pitt, 61, who reached a top speed of 197 mph in a test at Austin, Texas, in June, said recently that he wanted to "go back ... I want to hit 200!"
McLaren boss Zak Brown, whose team supplied the car he drove, said he expected to see him return and repeat the experience.

Oasis back with a bang

Photo: File British rock legends Oasis kicked off a hotly anticipated worldwide reunion tour on Friday in Cardiff, delighting fans with a comeback performance few thought possible after their acrimonious split nearly 16 years ago. The Manchester rockers, who shot to fame in the mid-1990s Britpop era, reeled off a string of their biggest hits in front of a 74,000-strong crowd in the Welsh capital, leaving those there in raptures. "It was fantastic — everything we dreamed about," said Sebastian Vyrtz, 37, from Denmark. "Great songs, no nonsense. It was like a hit parade." Frontman Liam Gallagher told the crowd packed into the Principality Stadium it had "been too long" as he spearheaded a two-hour set featuring classics like Champagne Supernova, Stand By Me and Supersonic. The once-warring Gallagher brothers, Liam and Noel also sang together on Roll With It. The band thanked fans for "putting up with us over the years" as they closed out a jubilant first night of their Oasis Live '25 tour. They play a second night in Cardiff Saturday, kickstarting 41 concerts around the world that includes five hometown gigs in Manchester starting July 11. Further sold-out British and Irish concerts will follow at London's Wembley Stadium, Edinburgh's Murrayfield and Dublin's Croke Park, before visiting other countries. The band's 1990s gigs are the stuff of legend but the chance to see them perform again was long seen as a remote prospect, following one of music's bitterest break-ups. Carnival atmosphere Fans travelled from far and wide, including from across the Americas and various European and other countries, to pack the stadium from late afternoon, and were not left disappointed hours later. Frank Gonzales, 49, from California, told AFP he was struck by how "emotionally" impacted he was. "I've seen them several times before, but (there was) something about them being back together again that I never thought I'd see. It was brilliant. "It was more than just a show... I had my arms around complete strangers." A carnival-like atmosphere had built in Cardiff through the day, with hordes of fans in Oasis t-shirts filling the streets as the sound of the band's various hits drifted through the air. Crowds packed pubs and outdoor terraces also bellowed out the band's anthems, while merchandise stands did a brisk trade. The tour is expected to be a boon for the struggling UK economy, with fans spending on tickets, transport and accommodation. Oasis announced the comeback tour last August, days before the 30th anniversary of their debut album Definitely Maybe. The Gallagher brothers maintained a war of words about each other for more than a decade, performing individually over those years but never together. They now appear to have put their differences aside. Although the duo did not engage in any on-stage banter Friday, they briefly high fived and hugged each other's shoulders following their closing track. 'Amazing' Last summer's reunion announcement sparked a chaotic clamour for tickets that devolved into outrage over sudden price hikes and saw Britain's competition watchdog threaten legal action. Resale tickets costing thousands of pounds have surfaced, while fans have also been targeted by online scams. Liam appeared to make light of the furore Friday, reportedly telling fans: "Are you having a good time? Was it worth the £40,000 you paid for the ticket?" Leaving the arena, Debbie Bonfield, 65, from Wales, said "what they charged the fans was a rip-off" but added "the atmosphere and everything made up for it." "It was amazing — loved it," she told AFP. During the final bars of Live Forever a picture of Liverpool footballer Diogo Jota, who died in a car accident Thursday, was displayed, with the crowd cheering and applauding the gesture. Oasis are being supported in the UK by Richard Ashcroft, frontman of British rock band The Verve, as well as 1990s indie band Cast. Starting his debut tour performance, Ashcroft said he was "proud to be here on this historic night", joking that he felt like he was in Oasis. He then launched into Sonnet, the 1997 hit song he released as frontman of The Verve. The Principality Stadium has its roof closed for both nights, adding to what fans described as an "incredible" atmosphere, with attendees bonding strongly. Photo :AFP Indies were bowled out for 253 in their first innings of the second test in Grenada on Friday, trailing Australia by 45 runs at stumps after a dramatic second day that saw early promise turn to utter collapse before a thrilling lower-order fightback. Australia were 12 for two when play was called off, having lost Sam Konstas for a duck when he was bowled by Jayden Seales, and Usman Khawaja for two runs when Seales trapped him lbw. What began as a Friday of fluctuating fortunes for the hosts became a tale of extraordinary resilience, with the West Indies tail staging a spirited recovery to keep alive the test match and series. The morning session belonged to John Campbell until a moment of madness cost him his wicket on 40. The West Indies left-hander looked in fine touch, striking five fours and a six, before attempting an ambitious shot off Beau Webster that he could only sky for a simple catch to Mitchell Starc at mid-on. Kraigg Brathwaite's milestone 100th Test got off to the worst possible start when he fell for a duck in just the second over after being caught and bowled by Josh Hazlewood. The session was not without its lighter moments either, as play was briefly interrupted when a dog wandered on to the field, trotting around casually before Cummins helped to shepherd it back over the boundary rope. Cummins, as he so often does, produced a moment of magic to break the crucial King-Hope partnership and swing the tide back in Australia's favour. The Australian captain cleaned up Hope on 21 with an absolute peach of a delivery, triggering a collapse that saw West Indies slump from a promising position to 174 for seven, after King and Justin Greaves (1) departed soon after. At that point, the hosts seemed headed for a substantial deficit chasing Australia's first innings total of 286, but the West Indies tail had other ideas. Alzarri Joseph was the chief architect of the fightback, smashing 27 from 49 balls, while Shamar Joseph provided equally valuable support with 29, before falling to Starc. The tail-end resistance proved nothing short of remarkable, with Anderson Phillip contributing a gritty 10 from 40 balls and Seales adding a valuable seven runs as the last-wicket partnership frustrated Australia's bowlers. The lower order added 79 crucial runs for the last three wickets to keep alive West Indian hopes. The final wicket of the hosts' innings fell when Travis Head took a low catch to dismiss Phillip, with the third umpire ruling the catch clean despite replays suggesting it was touch-and-go. Nathan Lyon was Australia's most successful bowler with three wickets for 75 runs from 19 overs. Hazlewood and Cummins claimed two wickets apiece but even they could not prevent their hosts from rallying.
