Assigned govt land: Man seeks justice
Speaking to mediapersons on Sunday, Goud said as per records, 7 acres and 65 cents of land in Survey No. 132/2B was proposed for allotment to him during the Assignment Committee meeting in 2007. Though the proposal was accepted and listed in the fourth position, the land was never allotted to him. Goud has accused then VRO Prasad, now serving as Revenue Inspector in Uyyalawada, of deliberately blocking the allotment and illegally facilitating the land to his relatives instead.
Following years of appeals, Goud filed a complaint under the Right to Information Act, which confirmed that the land had indeed been approved for him. The MRO also forwarded the case to the RDO for action. However, no progress has been made so far. Ramanna Manohar Goud, now mentally distressed and physically unwell, claims he has been forced to stop eating due to the emotional toll. He continues to live in poverty, dependent on a government pension, and has pleaded with the authorities to grant him the land that is rightfully his.
In support of Goud, Awaaz district secretary Mastan Vali has made a formal appeal to Minister for Roads and Buildings, BC Janardhan Reddy, urging the government to take immediate corrective action. Vali stated that if justice is not delivered, they are prepared to launch an indefinite protest at the District Collectorate. He emphasised that despite changes in political leadership and administrative officers, justice has been consistently denied, and demanded that the government rectify the long-standing injustice without further delay.

Hyderabad: Ridiculing allegations of corruption levelled against KTR and Kavitha concerning the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA), BRS leaders have alleged that the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) has been transformed into a 'conspiracy manufacturing office.' Addressing a press conference, former Chairman of the Telangana Sports Authority, Dr Anjaneya Goud, claimed that the Chief Minister's Office in the state had become a hub for orchestrating conspiracies. 'The CMO has been converted into a conspiracy manufacturing office,' he asserted. Goud further alleged that recent newspaper reports implicating KTR, Kavitha, and Raj Pakal in an HCA scam were part of such fabricated stories, and that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy's followers were exploiting the HCA apparatus for financial gain. The BRS leader highlighted that when Azharuddin was the HCA president, the Justice L Nageswara Rao Committee had reported numerous irregularities. Goud questioned what action was taken in response. He also asked whether there were no irregularities in HCA when Vivek was president. Pointing out that Azharuddin and Minister Vivek were both in the Congress party, he demanded to know why action should not be taken against them. 'During the Miss World beauty pageant, Revanth Reddy invited a BCCI official and concocted a plan to take over HCA,' Goud claimed. 'MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy and Revanth's follower Rohin Reddy have a role in the conspiracy to defame HCA. Both of them have also recently established cricket clubs. They are conspiring to make Rohin Reddy the HCA president. How can MP Gaddam Vamsi say a few days ago that a trick is going to happen in HCA?' Anjaneya Goud further stated that BJP leader D Guruva Reddy, who filed the complaint about HCA, was an 'anonymous person.' He questioned how newspapers could publish stories implying that Guruva Reddy's complaint would damage KTR's reputation. Goud emphasised that the HCA has a hundred-year history and all records for transactions made by the HCA president are available. He accused Revanth Reddy, who has claimed to expose various frauds, of sacrificing sports for his 'money hunt.' Goud dismissed as 'a complete lie' any claims that KTR's relatives were given IPL food contracts. Stating that all HCA contracts were conducted in the name of the secretary, Goud questioned whether Secretary Devaraj was being protected by Congress leader Keshav Rao for this reason. He also asked why Devaraj, who should have been designated as A1, was instead listed as A2. Goud claimed there were many cheating cases against the complainant, Guruva Reddy, and questioned whether authorities would believe him and file cases. The BRS leader concluded by stating that the cost of Uppal Stadium, initially projected at Rs 20 crore, had increased to Rs 100 crore, demanding an inquiry into this matter first. BRSV President Gellu Srinivas Yadav, former corporation chairman Palle Ravikumar, and BRS leaders Mahipal Mudiraj and Bachu Srinivas were also present at the press conference.

Call to create awareness on RTI among tribal women
Andhra Pradesh State RTI Commissioner Rehana Begum on Friday (July 18, 2025) said the Right to Information Act was a powerful tool that can help tribal communities access information about government schemes, services, and entitlements specifically meant for them. Speaking at an awareness programme organised in virtual mode, she called on Adivasi women to use the Act for their welfare. She said women in tribal regions often faced challenges due to illiteracy and lack of access to information. However, by identifying and training active and enthusiastic tribal women, it was possible to cultivate a culture of questioning and awareness. Once equipped with knowledge of the RTI Act, these women could play a key role in solving local issues by helping others access critical information, she said. The five-day awareness program was organised in Anakapalli district from July 14 to July 18 by LibTech India and the United Forum for RTI Campaign, Andhra Pradesh, in collaboration with various voluntary organisations. Tribal women from the districts of Manyam, Alluri Sitarama Raju, and Prakasam participated in the event. Representatives from LibTech India, including BDS Kishore, and members of the United Forum for RTI Campaign also took part in the event.

State Information Commission directs Rakhial police to provide CCTV footage in gambling case, with conditions
The State Information Commission has directed the Rakhial police station in Ahmedabad to provide CCTV footage related to a gambling case arrest, while ensuring the details of others in the footage are obscured. This order was passed by State Information Commissioner Manoj Patel in response to an appeal by Mohammed Sufiyan Rajput, a Rakhial resident. According to the details, police conducted a raid in February 2024 in which the applicant along with others were arrested for alleged violation of the Gambling Act and was taken to the police station. Rajput had sought CCTV footage of the police station of the relevant episode when he and other accused were taken to the police station. Rajput's application was rejected by the concerned Public Information Officer (PIO) under the provisions of Section 8 (1)(j) of the Right to Information Act and also since he was one of the accused in the case. Section 8 of the RTI Act is related to exemption from disclosure of certain information. And Section 8(1)(j) states, 'information which relates to personal information the disclosure of which has no relationship to any public activity or interest, or which would cause unwarranted invasion of the privacy of the individual unless the Central Public Information Officer or the State Public Information Officer or the appellate authority, as the case may be, is satisfied that the larger public interest justifies the disclosure of such information…' The applicant had first challenged the PIO order before the Appellate Authority under the Act. However, the appeal was not allowed by the appellate authority, following which he moved a second appeal before the State Information Commission. Deciding upon the appeal, the State Information Commissioner Manoj Patel in his order, dated July 8, noted: 'At this juncture, in the interest of justice, the Commission finds it appropriate to provide the applicant's footages free of cost by separating it and hiding others' details. The Public Information Officer has agreed to this.' Eventually, the Commission ordered the PIO to provide the applicant the CCTV footage to the extent of his presence while 'hiding' the details of others in it through an RPAD (Registered Post Acknowledgement Due). An official of Rakhial police station said that following the Commission's order, they have provided the relevant CCTV footages to the applicant where he can be seen but the details of others have been blurred.
