Odisha-based BonV Aero's drones help Army in rescue mission during Sikkim landslide
As part of a collaborative effort, BonV Aero deployed its ground penetrating radar (GPR) drone technology in one of the riskiest terrains in the Himalayas. Unlike traditional rescue efforts, which rely solely on manual digging, sniffer dogs and ground radar, the startup's cutting-edge UAV platform enabled aerial scanning of the landslide zone, detecting subsurface anomalies without disturbing the fragile debris field.
The drone's onboard GPR sensors, real-time imaging systems and AI-enhanced anomaly detection software provided near-instant data, including coordinates that enabled soldiers to trace beneath the debris.

TTD EO takes stock of digital payment glitches at Tirumala counters
Tirumala: Responding to concerns raised over the lack of digital payment facilities at sales counters in Tirumala, TTD executive officer J Syamala Rao conducted a surprise inspection on Monday evening to assess the situation firsthand. The visit came shortly after'The Hans India'published a report titled 'TTD counters remain cash-only despite digital push,' which highlighted the difficulties faced by pilgrims due to the unavailability of UPI-based payment options. Devotees have reportedly struggled to procure items like coconuts and incense sticks, often finding it hard to tender exact cash in smaller denominations. Taking serious note of the issue, the EO inspected several locations, starting from Swami Pushkarini and extending to the Gold Dollar sales counter, agarbatti and coconut counters, and the publication stalls situated in front of the Srivari Temple. During his rounds, Syamala Rao observed that poor mobile network connectivity was the primary reason for frequent delays and failures in UPI transactions at key counters near the temple. He instructed officials to coordinate with the TTD's IT wing to address the connectivity issue at the earliest and ensure smooth digital payment services for the convenience of pilgrims. Tirumala Temple Deputy EO Lokanatham and other senior officials accompanied him during the inspection.

Now, data annotators are correcting software code, checking financial statements and analysing diagnostic reports, as the training needs of artificial intelligence models become more annotation, or simply data labelling, is the most crucial and foundational step for building high-quality datasets to train AI models, enhance accuracy, curtail hallucinations and build safety guardrails against inappropriate or harmful content. This has opened a multi-million opportunity for global companies like Turing and Appen as tech giants OpenAI, Google, Microsoft have reportedly terminated their contracts with Scale. Turing's Siddharth said the deal validates that 'data is as strategic as compute in the race to AGI (artificial general intelligence), and signals that the scale of investment here will rival or even exceed billions annually across frontier labs'. In the past weeks, Turing has added potential contracts worth $50 million, the Time companies have long depended on India's talent and scale for servicing global projects. 'The depth of technical expertise — from IIT grads to domain-specific PhDs in math, physics and engineering — is extraordinary. And it's evolving in sync with what AI needs: not just coding talent, but frontier minds who can help push the limits of reasoning, multimodality and agentic workflows,' said Siddharth of Turing, whose 40% workforce is based in added that data labs need the best minds to compete, 'not just recycle the same talent pool in Silicon Valley.
