Common cruise cost-saving hack backfires as woman gets BANNED for life

Daily Mail21-06-2025
A woman has been banned for life from a popular cruise line after sharing a video of her smuggling alcohol on board a ship.
Courtney Murley posted a video detailing how to avoid paying for a costly drinks package on a cruise.
She captioned the video, which got over 400k views on TikTok, 'Def waited until after I got home to post this! Hahahaha but it worked.'
But it seems the video was brought to the attention of Carnival Cruise Lines who have now banned her from travelling with them again.
In the viral video Ms Murley demonstrated how she was able to sneak alcohol on board the Carnival Conquest at the end of March.
She said: 'Forget a drink package lol….okay we ended up drinking probably what we would of paid for a drink package anyways but still was fun to try and see if the rum runners would work.'
Followers took to the comments to warn Ms Murley that there could be consequences.
One user wrote: 'Wow. The last thing to do is post this and when you get banned whine about it not being alcohol. You ratted yourself out.'
Ms Murley later shared a screenshot of a letter that she received from Carnival Cruise Lines banning her from future travel.
It read: 'This letter is to inform you that you will not be able to sail onboard any Carnival Cruise Line vessel in the future due to the smuggling of alcohol onboard the Carnival Conquest on March 31st, 2025, and subsequently posting about it on social media platforms.
'Your attempt to book a future cruise will result in cancellation and a possible loss of deposit monies.'
However, in a follow-up video, Ms Murley then claimed that she never actually smuggled alcohol onboard.
Instead, she made up the story in what became a successful attempt to go viral.
She said: 'What I'm mad about is that they are banning me for something that didn't happen,' she claimed. 'They said for smuggling alcohol. I did not smuggle alcohol.
'Not one ounce of alcohol was smuggled onto the ship.'

Stephen Colbert lands new late-night gig

Stephen Colbert, the host of The Late Show, is getting a new late-night gig – albeit a fictional one. He is confirmed to guest star in the forthcoming third season of the crime comedy series Elsbeth, portraying Scotty Bristol, the host of a fictional late-night talk show. His appearance was specifically written for him and was reportedly orchestrated by his new co-star, Wendell Pierce, with the episode thought to have already been filmed. The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is scheduled to conclude in May 2026, with CBS stating the decision was financial. However, speculation suggests the cancellation may be linked to appeasing President Donald Trump, following Colbert's critical comments about a settlement involving Trump and Paramount's need for FCC approval for a major sale.

Trump weighs in on American Eagle's Sydney Sweeney ad controversy

Donald Trump has given his take on actress Sydney Sweeney's controversial jeans advert for American Eagle. The advert, which featured the tagline: 'Sydney Sweeney has good genes', was slammed by some who have accused it of subtly promoting white supremacy and eugenics. Speaking to the press before embarking on Air Force One on Sunday (3 August), the US president said the ad was 'fantastic' after a reporter informed him that the 27-year-old actress is a registered Republican. 'Oh, now I love her ad,' he said, adding: 'You'd be surprised at how many people are Republicans', though admitted he did not think Sweeney would have voted red. 'If Sydney Sweeney is a registered Republican, I think her ad is fantastic.' On Saturday (2 August), it was revealed that the Euphoria actress has been a registered voter with the Republican Party in Florida since June 2024, according to public voting records.

WWE's biggest show of the year, SummerSlam, is held over the course of two nights for the first time in 2025. WrestleMania made the permanent switch to a two-night spectacular back in 2020. The show was headlined by Cody Rhodes defeating John Cena for the WWE Championship, avenging his loss to the 'Peacemaker' star at WrestleMania 41 in April. WWE's ticket prices for the event were high, with some costing over $300 per seat, especially in the lower bowl. The rapper, 32, wore a huge, feathered cape, complete with a long train and fishnet stockings Last week, it was reported Cardi B is being sued by her involvement in an incident that took place two years ago, TMZ claimed. Norris, who is representing Jane Doe, is holding a press conference on Thursday in Vegas. has reached out to her reps for comment.
