Pep Guardiola and wife Cristina ‘giving each other a second chance after Man City boss ‘spent Easter in Barcelona'

The Sun24-04-2025
MAN City boss Pep Guardiola and his wife Cristina are reportedly giving things another go after spending Easter together in Barcelona.
The pair announced their shock split in January after 30 years together - with divorce proceedings commencing the following month.

But, following a three-day trip to Barcelona over the Easter break, the couple are now believed to be "giving each other another chance," according to Catalan newspaper El Nacional - as sources claim that "all is not lost in their marriage".
The pair appeared to start drifting back in 2019, when fashion entrepreneur Cristina moved back to Barcelona to focus on her business interests.
But it was Pep's decision last November to renew his contract with Manchester City until 2027 that reportedly expedited their split.
Now, the manager has pledged to visit Barcelona once a week in between fixtures, the El Nacional report claims.
Maria Lapiedra, a source close to the pair, said the decision was to prevent them going weeks without seeing each other.
The report also states that the couple - who share three children - continue to wear their weddings rings.
The rescue operation appeared to kick off last month - amid reports that Pep had returned to the family home in Barcelona for a secret visit.
A source said: 'They spent three nights together in Barcelona, both staying at the family home.
'Pep went out on Monday to the dentist and Cristina went to her fashion shop in the city centre.

'They met up again at the shop and spent three hours there before returning to the house to spend the evening together.
'Pep left for Manchester on Tuesday morning.'
Pep and Cristina met in 1994 but didn't marry until 2014 - tying the knot at an intimate ceremony on the outskirts of Barcelona.
They had spent the majority of their marriage living separately when Cristina decided to move back to Barcelona with one of their daughters, Valentina.
The pair continued to make things work long distance until their split in December of last year.
However, they insisted that things would remain amicable throughout divorce proceedings - and that they would even share the same legal team.
Sources said in February that they had already agreed the initial terms of a multi-million pound settlement agreement - which would be finalised in a matter of weeks.
Respected Spanish journalist Lorena Vazquez, who broke the story of their split, revealed: "They want it above all to be friendly for the sake of their children.
"As you can imagine money is not going to be an issue and they have already agreed the initial terms to make sure this separation is the most cordial possible.
"They have a very good relationship, so much so that the same lawyer is arranging the whole thing.
"The divorce is on the way and is being left in the hands of people with their absolute trust."

A-list actor's much younger wife goes braless in racy snap... can you guess the Hollywood couple?

A Hollywood legend's dramatically younger wife could be seen sizzling up a storm in a racy new post on her Instagram page. Born in Spain, the brunette bombshell is nearly a quarter-century younger than her husband, who is instantly recognizable to moviegoers around the world. The leggy 42-year-old is wife number three for the 75-year-old actor, who was previously married to a 1990s Supermodel and then to a Bond girl. He and his latest spouse tied the knot in 2018 and have now moved back to the capital of her native land, where he gushed that they are 'happier than ever.' Now she has posted a steamy snap of her bra-less under a sheer white tank top, taken during the cover shoot of a magazine she and her husband fronted this year. Can you guess the identity of the Hollywood couple? View this post on Instagram A post shared by Alejandra Gere (@alejandragere) She is Alejandra Silva, the Spanish publicist who succeeded Cindy Crawford and License to Kill bombshell Carey Lowell to become the current Mrs. Richard Gere. Her saucy new photo was taken behind the scenes of the cover shoot of the February issue of Elle Spain, snapped by Dutch fashion photographer Jan Welters. Alejandra struck a power pose in a thin white outfit she wore with no bra underneath, and she aimed a tantalizing come-hither stare at the camera. She and Richard appeared together on the magazine and opened up in its pages about their recent relocation to Madrid. 'This is our momentum,' said Richard. 'We are happier than ever. She, because she is at home and I because, if Alejandra is happy, I am too.' 'We are like soul mates,' Alejandra gushed, 'We have the same values, we see the world in the same way and from the first moment we feel like we have known each other for a long time. 'And this only happens once, if it happens at all. We were united by the karma of our past lives.' Giving an insight into their family life, she added: 'Richard is a very dedicated and present father. He loves reading stories to children. 'It seems like an idyllic picture, but it's true. He's a great dad. He doesn't cook. I do, but when I cook, he plays the guitar. She continued: 'One of the things that unites us the most and what made us fall deeply in love was our activist hearts.' Elsewhere in the interview, Richard said: 'The new world will be built with and thanks to women. The Dalai Lama once told me that he inherited compassion and kindness not from his father, but from his mother. 'Together they are extremely powerful. If you give money to a woman, she invests it and puts it at the service of the community and improves the whole village.' The bestted couple looked as loved-up as ever in the new cover shoot, with Richard allowing his wife to take centre-stage as he stood behind her. Alejandra looked incredible in a plunging white short complete with black trousers and a silver statement necklace in the shape of a snake. In another snap, she slipped into a gold strapless gown, wearing her choppy brunette tresses in a straight style. She opted for a glamorous palette of makeup as she smiled at the camera while her husband nuzzled into her face, before she turned around to gaze into his eyes. It comes after Richard spent his Thanksgiving holiday in his new overseas home with Alejandra, both hitting the red carpet at the Elle for Future Awards in Madrid. The actor and wife were spotted rocking black ensembles at the photocall, held at the Four Seasons in Madrid. The couple's November outing was their first time seen in public since they both made the move to Madrid. The Emmy-nominated actor was spotted donning a classic black tuxedo with a black coat, white shirt, black bowtie, black pants and black shoes. His wife opted for a stunning strapless black dress with colorful pink and blue encrusted embellishments all over the gown. She accessorized with gold hoop earrings, a stunning gold necklace with encrusted diamonds and matching gold and diamond bracelets. She also accessorized with a number of gold and diamond rings for her time on the red carpet. Her long flowing gown obscured her footwear for the evening as she walked the red carpet with her husband of five years. They sold their Connecticut ranch last year for $10.75 million, ahead of the couple's move to Spain with their children. He revealed the move back in April in an interview with Vanity Fair Espana, revealing they plan on spending at least six years there. 'She was very generous in giving me six years living in my world, so I think it is only fair that I give her at least another six living in hers,' he told the magazine. Lifting the lid on the major move on an episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Richard began by joking: 'My wife is Spanish. Is this a problem for anybody out there?'. He then announced: 'But my wife is Spanish, and she gave me about seven years here, so we're going to spend some years in Madrid.' 'Our kids are bilingual so they're going to flourish there,' he continued. In addition to his two sons with Alejandra, the Hollywood A-lister is stepfather to the Spanish activist's 11-year-son, Albert and he is also the proud dad of son Homer, 24, whom he welcomed with his second wife, actress Carey Lowell. Richard did confirm that he won't be quitting America forever and added: 'Of course I'll be back.' Speaking about his family, the Chicago star gushed: 'I love my wife, she's incredible. Great mother. Kids are healthy and happy. Of course, there's nothing more than that.' Turning his attention to their Thanksgiving plans, he continued: 'My wife grew up in a big Spanish family, like a big Italian family, and her grandmother was kind of the glue that held that all together. 'And the grandmother passed away [about] two years ago, so my wife, I can see her morphing into the new grandmother of this extended family. So she's already planning for 35 people for Sunday lunches.' Prior to moving to Connecticut, Richard owned an estate in the celebrity-favored area of Pound Ridge, New York, roughly an hour from Manhattan. In May 2022, he sold that property for $28 million, according to Mansion Global, just two months before purchasing his New Canaan home. Richard and Alejandra's romance began in 2014, when they reconnected in Italy after first meeting years earlier through a mutual friend. Despite their age difference, the two quickly bonded over their shared passions for humanitarian work and spirituality. They married in a private ceremony at Gere's estate in upstate New York in 2018.

That smacker, which Hermoso said 'tarnished' her country's triumph, was ruled as a sexual assault in February this year. But Walsh is hoping Spain can 'enjoy' the final this time around with no more controversy. The England midfielder said: 'There's a lot of respect between both the teams. 'The most important thing for them is that they can enjoy this final. There's no controversy surrounding it. 'The girls deserve to be there, they play incredible football. So first and foremost, for them as human beings, that they can go out there and actually enjoy this game. 'They probably could have had more support. After the game there was a lot of controversy and I don't think for them there was enough spotlight on how incredible they played and how incredible some of their players were, it was all about the other stuff that had gone on. 'As a professional, that was disappointing to see. I have a lot of friends in that team and I think they probably deserved a little bit more than what they got.' 7 Spain beat England 1-0 in the 2023 World Cup final Credit: Getty 7 Walsh has insisted she is not dwelling on the defeat Credit: Getty CASINO SPECIAL - BEST CASINO BONUSES FROM £10 DEPOSITS Walsh also insisted that she is not dwelling on the World Cup final defeat ahead of the rematch. She said: 'It was a massive disappointment. 'From a collective we probably feel like we didn't have our best performance that day. England star Chloe Kelly speaks about her crucial Euros penalty against Italy 'But as a football player you can become too emotional. 'This is a new game, new team, we know what we bring in this tournament so we're going to keep doing that and focus on the positives, not try to draw on that too much.' The Lionesses have gone to extra-time in both their knockout matches — but have led for just ONE minute. They came from 2-0 down to beat Sweden on penalties in the quarter-finals before scoring a dramatic 119th-minute winner to book their final spot. Walsh believes their impressive resilience is 'just a part of being English'. She said: 'That's what we feel when we put the shirt on. It's that we give everything, we run ourselves into the ground. 'The beauty of this squad is that we know if we have to come off because we're tired, there's going to be someone else who can come on and finish the job. 'It's what we just speak about as a team, that English resilience and it's something that we really pride ourselves on. 'You can see from the last two games that it's something we really believe in.' Chloe Kelly's last-gasp strike against Italy on Tuesday to secure the extra-time victory was the latest goal ever recorded at a women's Euros. Walsh said: 'For us, you create those moments for yourself through belief, confidence, determination.' That never-say-die spirit was also shown in Michelle Agyemang's 96th-minute leveller that forced extra-time. Walsh added: 'I've heard people have been saying that it was luck. It's not by luck Michelle is in the box and scoring. 'It's not by luck that people are putting crosses into the box — it's thought out, it's purposeful. 'It's the absolute belief that no matter what minute it is, we're going to win it or we're going to get a result to take us to extra-time. That's the resilience of this team.' 7 England left it late to book their spot in the Euros final Credit: Getty 7 Teenager Michelle Agyemang scored deep into injury time to force extra time Credit: AP

Inside Oasis' wild afterparties with footballers and free booze as they let loose

Liam and Noel Gallagher certainly know how to put on a party as they have been treating their VIP guests to a free bar and music into the early hours as they tour the UK Oasis have certainly returned in style, and it seems the shows have been carrying on into the night long after Liam and Noel Gallagher walk off stage. The Manchester icons put their long-running feud aside to the delight of fans and kicked off their 2025 world tour earlier this month. ‌ They made their epic comeback in Cardiff, before heading over to their beloved hometown for a series of shows at Heaton Park. Liam and Noel are set to return to the capital this weekend for the first time since 2009. ‌ Amid all the attention on stage, it seems there has been plenty of action going on backstage as well. Footballers including Jack Grealish and Phil Foden have rubbed shoulders with Noel and The Verve's Richard Ashcroft, who has been opening for Oasis each night. ‌ After their first show at Heaton Park, Manchester City's Grealish is said to have kicked off the partying as he hooked up his phone to a speaker. In a tongue-in-cheek move, he reportedly blasted out Westlife tunes to Happy Mondays' Shaun Ryder and former Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany. 'It's been a proper love-in backstage,' a source told The Independent. 'There's a friends and family bar which is basically free booze – Guinness on draft (of course), beer, wine and champagne. It's like going to a wedding every night.' ‌ They explained support acts Cast and Richard Ashcroft have been "having the time of their lives" while Liam and Noel's guests have been partying with each other. Another source claimed to the publication that Noel has "never smiled to much" as he soaks up the atmosphere after each show. Oasis will head to Wembley this weekend, with many fans predicting they will pay tribute to rock icon Ozzy Osbourne. The band has already paid tribute to the late Liverpool football player Diogo Jota, who died in a car crash in Spain on July 3 along with his brother. ‌ The Prince of Darkness once showed support to the band as he said: "Everybody says they [Oasis] rip them [The Beatles] off, but I don't think so. "It's dead easy to start a forest fire in this game. You say 'Ozzy's got a false nose.' All of a sudden, everyone looks the same. Same thing with Oasis. Everyone just kept saying it and it stuck." Ozzy's defence of the band has been praised by fans who believe the Gallagher brothers should pay tribute to the late singer. Fans believe a tribute to the beloved singer is an inevitable addition to the show. One user wrote: "Big picture of him during Live Forever at the next show, guarantee it." Another added: "I'll be shocked if there isn't at least his face on screen during Live Forever. Noel's always spoken very highly of him in return, and they used to be neighbours. Plus he does a f**king great Ozzy impression." Many fans believe Live Forever will be dedicated to Osbourne, as was the case for the Cardiff kick-off shows which paid tribute to Jota.
