Major US music star cancels European tour as they tell fans 'it wasn't an easy decision'

Daily Mail18-06-2025
Popular American country singer Hardy has cancelled his European tour just days before he was set to take to the stage overseas.
The Philadelphia-born performer, 34, had been scheduled to begin the series of shows on Thursday in Copenhagen, Denmark, in what would have been his first headline show in Europe.
But the Wait In The Truck singer left fans gutted on Tuesday as he took to Instagram to announce the cancellation of the latest leg of his Jim Bob Tour.
Hardy posted: 'I have decided to cancel the European leg of the JIM BOB TOUR.
'It wasn't an easy decision but one I had to make for my band, crew and my family. Please know that I love you all and I will be back as soon as I can.
'Refunds will automatically be issued by your point of purchase.'
Hardy had been scheduled to perform in the Netherlands, Belgium, the UK and Ireland before pulling out.
The country singer previously cancelled a series of shows in 2023 as he recovered from a car crash which left him with serious injuries.
Hardy and three others had been returning from a show in Bristol, Tennessee, a year earlier when their tour bus overturned.
The 34-year-old cited 'serious anxiety' as the reason for the cancelled shows in October 2023.
'I need to be honest with everyone for a second,' Hardy posted on his social media.
'I've been dealing with some serious anxiety since the bus accident last year and over the last two weeks, it has taken control of my life.
'It's caused me to suffer many panic attacks which have landed me in hospital.
It wasn't an easy decision but one I had to make for my band, crew and my family. Please know that I love you all and I will be back as soon as I can,' the artist announced
'I need a moment to focus on me and make myself better for my wife, family and you. the fans.'
Hardy - real name Michael Wilson Hardy - became a father earlier this year as he and his wife Rosie Ryan Hardy welcomed their daughter in March.
They had announced the news that they were expecting a child months earlier, with Hardy posting: ''You have been our favorite little secret to keep. Baby Hardy coming February 2025.'
'Thank you all so much for all of the sweet words and love you've shared with us about our little one!!' Ryan said.
'I am so relieved and excited to finally have the news out there!! We are going to be parents! This is so fun!'
Hardy and Caleigh's romance began in 2018 when he slid into her DMs on Instagram after she popped up on his For You page.
'We just started talking about San Diego and how she goes to Ole Miss and my family's Mississippi State thing," Hardy told People.
'We kept in contact until I had a show nearby her school and told her I'd love to meet her there.'
When the day of his show arrived, Ryan said she 'dragged' her roommates with her to meet Hardy.
'Once we met each other, there really was no one else,' Ryan said. 'We never entertained anyone else. It was just so easy.'
After three years of dating, the singer popped the big question in 2021 at the Lyric Oxford Theater in Mississippi, where they had first met in person.
And in October 2022, the lovebirds said 'I do' during a romantic ceremony in Nashville, where the happy couple currently reside.

Billy Ray Cyrus is writing 'sexy songs' for new 'muse' Elizabeth Hurley as romance deepens

Billy Ray Cyrus is inspired these days. The country music singer is writing 'sexy' love songs about new girlfriend Elizabeth Hurley already, Daily Mail has learned. 'His next album will include songs that are about Elizabeth for sure, he is definitely smitten with his new love and she has become his muse,' a source tells Daily Mail. 'Billy is always working on new music, but lately he has been doing even more love songs and it's clear why. He is very happy with Elizabeth, she is motivating him in a very big way. The songs are all about how she "heals" him and how sexy she is.' And the father of Miley Cyrus is also teaching the Austin Powers actress how to sing like a Country Western songbird, the source added. 'He feels she can sing, that singing is in her future, and maybe even a duet with him,' said the insider. The British beauty has sung in a movie before: with pal Patsy Kensit in the 1990 film Kill Cruise, where they performed the song You're Leaving Me. Hurley has appeared in music videos too. They were for Bryan Adams' song Never Let You Go and Adele's Send My Love (To Your New Lover).' Cyrus and Hurley have become serious ever since they went public on Easter after many years of friendship. Billy has already praised Elizabeth as a 'great human being'. They met while filming 2022's Christmas In Paradise. In a clip from The Ty Bentli Show, Cyrus said: 'We did very few scenes together but the couple times we were in the same scene there was a chemistry there. We just laughed, and it was at a time I wasn't laughing a lot. 'The oddest part was first, how much we laughed. Second, I figured we were so different but in some very strange way we had way more in common than we had different. 'If all we ever were [is] the friends that we are, I would take that. She's so impressively brilliant. She reminds me a lot of Dolly Parton. She's a very smart businesswoman. 'If you can laugh together, you can make it through everything.' While the pair met on the movie set, they didn't speak to each other for two years after shooting the film. But Elizabeth re-entered the crooner's life when he needed a friend, following his split from wife Firerose. He shared: 'I felt like, "Wow, can life get any harder? Can it get any tougher?" For me, at a certain point it was like, you can't get knocked down any flatter than laying on your back when life is kicking you. And in this moment... a friend reached out.' Billy didn't recognize the number at first, so he texted Elizabeth back. He recalled: 'I text back, I go, "Who is this?" And it's like, "Elizabeth Hurley." Of all the people to reach out to me in that second that maybe I needed most... this friend who made me laugh.' The Bedazzled star - who has 23-year-old son Damian from a previous relationship - shocked fans when she announced she was dating the Achy Breaky Heart hitmaker. On her 60th birthday Cyrus spent time with her son. 'Billy is always working on new music, but lately he has been doing even more love songs and it's clear why. He is very happy with Elizabeth, she is motivating him in a very big way,' added the source. She sure has kept her figure: Hurley in Bedazzled, left, in 2000 and modeling a bikini, right, this year She told Britain's HELLO! magazine before the party: 'I am looking forward to celebrating with Billy Ray. 'He should be in England for my birthday. He'll be meeting my family – and my dogs – and hopefully, it'll be lovely.' Elizabeth was not too worried about hitting 60 because she always enjoys her birthdays, but even more so when she reaches a milestone age.

Popular 90s country star shocks fans with rare appearance at beloved folk festival after decades-long absence

Attendees of the 2025 Newport Folk Festival were surprised by a rare appearance of a much loved country star. After decades of a hiatus from the festival, Mary Chapin Carpenter, 67, made her comeback to the festival stage - much to the delight of fans. Carpenter surprised the crowds by playing some of her hits from the 90s, including He Thinks He'll Keep Her, The Hard Way, and Down at the Twist and Shout. But she also included songs from her album Personal History which was released this year. This included The Saving Things and Bitter Ender for which she brought out her producer Josh Kaufman to help play. Carpenter didn't miss a beat, performing in a blue halter neck top with gold floral patterning, black pants and a pair of tinted sunglasses. In her typical fashion, she also brought a guitar on stage, singing acoustic to many of her most popular tracks. Festival goers posted clips of Carpenter in their droves, sparking long-time fans to applaud the performer for her enduring music career. She performed fan-favorites from the 90s including The Hard Way and He Thinks He'll Keep Her 'HUGE FAN back in the day! Bought all of her music!' one fan commented. 'Chapin is a national treasure!!' another wrote. Some fans even pointed out how 'underrated' the star is, considering her 30-year run in the industry. 'Love her! She was not given enough recognition!' one fan said. 'Man, looking back she was such a unique gem for country music to embrace in the 90s. Awesome!' another added. But Carpenter hasn't gone without any sort of recognition. During her career, the star has won five Grammy awards and 15 nominations, as well as two CMA awards and two Academy of Country Music, amongst other achievements. Carpenter is also a member of the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame. And while she may have not performed at the Newport Folk Festival in quite some time, this doesn't mean she's been missing in action in the music work. In fact, Personal History marks the artist's 17th album, one that she says is a release of her emotions. 'It felt a little different this time,' she said in an interview with American Songwriter. 'It felt like I was connecting dots and returning to stories that I had carried around in my back pocket for a really long time.'

Adidas's sell-out cow print sambas are back

From cowboy boots and fringing to bootleg jeans and suede, the fashion world is going wild for Western-inspired style right now. But adidas took things one step further earlier this year when it dropped a new style of trainer featuring an all-over cow print. Putting a fresh spin on the ubiquitous samba and the sleek SL72 style, the bold print was an exclusive for Asos and sold out in all sizes within a day last time, so you'll need to be quick with this restock. So, has cow print officially stolen leopard print's crown? Rearing its head at Copenhagen Fashion Week in January, it went on to dominate street style looks in New York, coating everything from handbags to heels. A playful take on the Western aesthetic, cowboy print rose to prominence in the Sixties among bohemian dressers before having a comeback in the Nineties thanks to the decade's maximalism. Now, it's returned again as a direct challenge to the clean girl and quiet luxury trends. There are plenty of ways to wear it, from mini skirts and ballet flats to trousers. But if you prefer a more understated pop of cow print, trainers are the way to go. The good news is that the Adidas x Asos range has been restocked after an almost instant sell-out. Here's everything you need to know. A fashionable spin on the hugely popular trainers, these Adidas sambas are designed to be a style statement in their own right. Characterised by an all-over cow print, the trainer features the signature white three stripe detailing, tongue and heel, while chocolate brown laces and a pink leather lining add a playful touch. The trainers sold out within a day before, so if you want to get your hands on them, be quick. A fresh alternative to the prevalent Adidas samba, the SL72 trainers boast a more streamlined silhouette. Reminiscent of trainers from Adidas's archive in 1972, the design of this style is low profile and slick with a playful cow print finish, pink pops on the sole and black laces. Featuring the brand's instantly recognisable three stripes and trefoil logo, the trainers marry comfort and style. Trust us, the print is more wearable than you might think. Whether you play it safe with an all-denim look (lean into the Western feel) or experiment with colour by pairing them with red, blue or butter-yellow pieces, the monochrome print is sure to add intrigue to your look.
