Edmonton-born forward Tyler Duguid made his debut for fourth-ranked France in a 31-27 loss to the second-ranked All Blacks on Saturday in Dunedin, New Zealand.
The 24-year-old Duguid, who represented Canada at the under-20 level, qualifies for France via residency after moving to Europe to pursue his rugby career as a teenager with RC Narbonne. He currently plays for Montpellier in the top-flight French Top 14 on a contract running through 2017.

The championships are being held at the Kinsmen Sports Centre and wrap up Sunday afternoon.

The UBC Thunderbird alumnus was drafted by the Toronto Argonauts in 2024 as a fifth round, 39th overall pick. Williams made 152 tackles, two sacks, 24 pass deflections, and six interceptions during his five season stint playing for the University of Indiana. He later signed with the Minnesota Vikings following the 2023 NFL draft and played there for two seasons. Williams was also part of the BC Lions practice roster in 2025. Cosby joins the Edmonton club after spending the 2024 season on the Montreal Alouettes. During his time there, he tallied 67 tackles, two interceptions and one sack. Before joining the CFL, Cosby spent two seasons with the Las Vegas Raiders and was named first-time All-MAC in 2020 with Ball State. The Elks will take on the Saskatchewan Roughriders on their home turf Friday at 8 p.m.
