Scott Dixon Wins Mid-Ohio Following Rare Mistake by Alex Palou

After absolutely controlling the Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio, Alex Palou made a mistake going into turn 10 with four laps to go, opening up a lane for his teammate Scott Dixon to pass and steal the win.
Palou went wide, almost leaving the track in turn 10, and couldn't get up to power quickly enough to defend against a hard-charging Dixon. While Palou is happy that the win still stayed in the Chip Ganassi Racing family, he says it still hurts to lose a race on a human
"I just lost a little momentum at the start and couldn't get the power going," Palou told IndyCar on Fox. "Nobody to blame but me, just got wide on entry and lost it completely. It sucks, it sucks. It hurts a lot. It's still a good day, but it hurts to lose it like that."
Dixon was on a two-stop strategy along with Kyffin Simpson and Rinus VeeKey, but his fuel save wouldn't've been enough to take the win without Palou's mistake.
"So much fun to try and pull off what we did, do it with what we had," Dixon told IndyCar on Fox. "They forgot to take out the front wing on the last stop. I just had to look at the corner, and the car would turn. I was just hoping the rear tires would hold on."
Dixon's 59th career win puts him just eight wins away from tying AJ Foyt's record. He becomes the third driver to win this year, joining Palou and Kyle Kirkwood.
