Four Years Later OTT Release Date: When and where to watch Shahana Goswami's Australian-Indian series online
More about Four Years Later
Starring the very dependable Shahana Goswami alongside Akshay Ajit Singh, this Australian-Indian collaboration is a refreshing break from the usual tropes we're fed in long-distance romance dramas. At its core, Four Years Later is about two people who start their marriage with hope, but then life throws in career dreams, distance, cultural expectations, and personal growth, and suddenly, love isn't the only thing on the table.
The story follows Sridevi and Yash, a couple who marry in India through an arranged setup, only for Yash to quickly move to Sydney to begin his medical traineeship. Sridevi, meanwhile, stays back in India, caught between her in-laws' household and her own suspended ambitions. When she finally moves to Australia to reunite with her husband after years of separation, it's not the romantic reunion either of them imagined. They've both changed. Their priorities have shifted. And most importantly, they're no longer sure if they fit into each other's new lives.
Four Years Later's cast and crew
The supporting cast features names like Kate Box, Taj Aldeeb, and Luke Arnold. There's a nice interplay of languages too, Hindi and English flow organically. Four Years Later was created and written by Mithila Gupta, an Indian-origin Australian screenwriter who has previously worked on shows like Neighbours and Five Bedrooms. The direction is shared by Mohini Herse and Fadia Abboud.
The music, composed by Isha Ram Das (Simpson), is minimal but effective. The series was shot in early 2024 across Mumbai, Jaipur, and Sydney. Its premiere on SBS in Australia was well-received, with critics praising its realistic portrayal of modern marriage and migration. It was even nominated for Best Miniseries at the AACTA Awards. And now, Indian audiences finally get a chance to experience this emotionally rich drama.

Diljit Dosanjh Not Removed From Border 2, Ban Lifted After Bhushan Kumar's Request
Last Updated: FWICE had earlier written a letter to the makers of Border 2, expressing disappointment with the casting of Diljit Dosanjh in the movie. Diljit Dosanjh will not be removed from Border 2 amid the controversy surrounding the casting of Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in his recent movie, Sardaar Ji 3. It has now been reported that the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), which had earlier issued a non-cooperation order against Diljit, has now lifted the ban on the actor. FWICE President BN Tiwari told India Today that Border 2 producer Bhushan Kumar personally appealed to the federation and requested that Diljit be allowed to shoot for his movie. 'Yes, the ban has been revoked for this project," Tiwari confirmed. When FWICE Wrote A Letter To Bhushan Kumar FWICE had earlier written a letter to the makers of Border 2, expressing disappointment with the casting of Diljit Dosanjh in the movie. In its letter, addressed to Bhushan Kumar, Chairman & Managing Director, T-Series, JP Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta Producers, JP Films, and director Anurag Singh, FWICE mentioned that it is 'deeply disappointed" with the casting of Diljit Dosanjh in Border 2. 'The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), representing the core workforce of the Indian film and television industry, is deeply disappointed and concerned by the casting of actor-singer Mr Diljit Dosanjh in your upcoming film Border 2 produced under the banner of JP Films in collaboration with T-Series and directed by Mr Anurag Singh," the letter read. It further called the casting decision 'blatant violation" of 'FWICE's official directive to boycott Mr. Diljit Dosanjh, which was issued after his unpatriotic act of working with a Pakistani actress, Ms. Hania Aamir, in the film Sardaar Ji 3." 'By choosing to collaborate with an artist who has so brazenly ignored the ongoing tensions and national sentiment, your production has directly undermined the stand taken by the Indian film industry in solidarity with the nation," the letter added. Later, FWICE had also written another letter to the Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Home Minister Amit Shah, appealing for the withdrawal of permissions granted to the Border 2 team for filming at the prestigious National Defence Academy (NDA). The shooting of Border 2 is currently underway in Pune. First Published:
