NEWCASTLE, England (AP) — Former England striker Callum Wilson has confirmed his departure from Newcastle after his contract expired at the end of the season.
'It's time to say goodbye after an unbelievable few years in the Toon,' the 33-year-old Wilson, who is a free agent, said in a statement.

The striker, who also played in the Premier League for Bournemouth, joined Newcastle in 2020 for 20 million pounds ($27 million) and scored 49 goals in 130 appearances.
'I am so proud to have worn the iconic number 9 shirt and to have added a little more history to it. Scoring at the Gallowgate End really is as special as they say," Wilson said.
Wilson had an injury-disrupted campaign last season, but still made 22 appearances, including coming on a substitute in Newcastle's English League Cup victory against Liverpool, which ended the club's 70-year wait for a major domestic trophy.
'We stood strong together through the highs and some lows to help the club experience new heights,' he said.

🚨 Boca agree deal with Atlético Nacional for Jorman Campuzano sale

This weekend, the appearance of Jorman Campuzano in Boca Juniors training sessions at the Ezeiza premises caused some surprise. The Colombian midfielder, who has a contract with Xeneize until June 2026, officially ended his loan at Atlético Nacional, where he played on loan since mid-2024, and presented himself to train with the Boca squad led by Miguel Ángel Russo. Advertisement For Verdolaga, it is a very important loss, since Campuzano was a key player in the team that achieved the League, Cup, and Supercup titles at the domestic level in the past season. Luckily for Atlético Nacional, Boca Juniors would have given in to their aspirations for Jorman Campuzano to stay in Medellín in the next season. Verbal agreement between Boca and Atlético Nacional According to information from Germán García Grova, the clubs reached an agreement for the transfer of Campuzano to Atlético Nacional. The green team would pay an amount of around $1.7 million for 100% of the 30-year-old defensive midfielder's rights. Advertisement If this news and figure are officially confirmed, Boca would have lowered their initial demands to reach an agreement. After his return to training this weekend, in Boca it was considered that he had no place in the team, and the club was willing to negotiate his departure. But according to Planeta Boca Juniors, Xeneize had rejected Nacional's initial offer, as it was lower than the purchase option stipulated in the loan, set at $2.5 million. Arizona State Reacts to Big 12's Major Sam Leavitt Announcement

Arizona State Reacts to Big 12's Major Sam Leavitt Announcement originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Arizona State Sun Devils had an amazing 2024 season. They went 11-3, securing the No. 4 seed in the College Football Playoff, eventually losing to No. 5 Texas in the quarterfinals. Advertisement What makes that even more impressive is that the expectations weren't high at all, considering they were coming off back-to-back 3-9 seasons in 2022 and 2023 and hadn't appeared in a bowl game since 2021. Much of that unexpected success fell on the shoulders of quarterback Sam Leavitt, who has now earned an exciting honor before 2025 as he was named the Big 12 Preseason Offensive Player of the Year. That caught the attention of the Sun Devils, who reshared the exciting news on X, captioning it "Preseason praise." Last season, in his first year as a full-time starter at the collegiate level, Leavitt was impressive, completing 216 of 350 passes for 2,885 yards, 24 touchdowns, six interceptions and a 150.2 passing efficiency rating. Advertisement It wasn't only his passing ability that was on display, though, as he also showed a strong ability as a dual-threat quarterback, rushing the ball 110 times for 443 yards and five touchdowns. Leavitt's efforts helped Arizona State achieve some impressive offensive numbers, finishing the year tied for 30th in points per game (32.9) and tied for 28th in total yards per game (429.4).
