Jordan's Public Security Directorate has referred the methanol poisoning case to the Public Prosecutor of the Grand Criminal Court after concluding all investigative procedures, a spokesperson said Tuesday.
The case involves the deaths of nine people and 47 confirmed injuries linked to toxic alcoholic beverages produced by a now-shuttered factory.
According to the spokesperson, no new injuries were recorded in the past 24 hours. The increase in reported cases came from individuals who consumed the contaminated drinks during a social gathering held last Friday.
A total of 32 people sought medical attention following the event.
Investigative teams, in coordination with representatives from the Jordan Food and Drug Administration, have withdrawn all products manufactured by the implicated factory from markets and placed them under official custody.
To date, the incident has resulted in nine fatalities and 47 confirmed methanol poisoning cases. Three additional individuals were initially suspected of poisoning, but laboratory tests confirmed their samples were methanol-free.
The following products, manufactured by the suspect factory, have been pulled from shelves:
GOLD GOED Whisky
RedSun Vodka

GOLD & BROWN Vodka
GOLD & BROWN Whisky
'Arak Jabanna'
