Rod Stewart issues emotional statement after Penny Lancaster shares new 'challenge'
Sir Rod Stewart shared a touching message of support for his wife Penny Lancaster following her big reveal. Penny, 54, took to social media to announce the upcoming release of her memoir, 'Someone Like Me', which promises an in-depth look at her life, including stories never before shared.
The Loose Women panelist gave fans a first look at her book cover on Instagram, emblazoned with the phrase "Lessons in life, love and staying true."
Sir Rod re-shared the announcement, proclaiming the project as "The light of my life's new memoir".
In her original post, Penny expressed her enthusiasm: "I'm so excited to announce that my new book, Someone Like Me, will be publishing this September!
"At times I've felt alone and overwhelmed by some of the most difficult experiences I've had, but I've found that delving deeper and sharing these moments has not only helped me, it's also had a positive impact on others.
"Writing this book has been a challenge, but it's shown me that we're all going through something, overcoming difficulties and re-discovering parts of ourselves that we might have lost along the way. Life is full of ups and downs - we're all learning as we go and embracing this process is where growth and healing happens."

Jess Glynne finally meets Jet2 voiceover artist taking over our summer
Jess Glynne and Zoe Lister – the two people behind the viral TikTok sound of the summer – have finally met in person for the first time. The London singer-songwriter, 35, and the Worcester actress, 43, had their work combined by budget airline Jet2 years ago for an advertisement campaign. Jess' 2015 UK number one song Hold My Hand has been the signature tune for Jet2 adverts – and onboard Jet2 flights – for many years now. Former Hollyoaks actress Zoe was later hired by the airline to produce the now-famous 'Nothing beats a Jet2 holiday' voiceover on a number of their TV spots. The sound clip of the Jet2 Hold My Hand mash-up has spread all over TikTok and beyond during the heatwave-hit British summer of 2025, becoming a viral sensation. To celebrate, Capital Breakfast with Jordan North got Jess and Zoe in a room together for the very first time on Monday morning, with the pair joining in on the meme fun. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video In a video posted to Instagram, host Jordan initially found it hard to contain his excitement, screeching at the top of his lungs that Jess and Zoe's meeting was 'finally happening'. 'It's happening! It's happening!' he screamed as Zoe entered the studio and gave Jess a massive hug, while there were calls for everybody to 'calm down' off-camera. Co-host Chris Stark asked Jess: 'You know what's coming, right? We've got to chat about it. Of course, talking about Hold My Hand… You always hear that song whenever you go on a plane. 'Then it's in the advert. And then, for reasons no one really understands, this summer, it just exploded on TikTok. Has it surprised you how massive this has all gone? Jess replied that she was grateful for the renewed interest in the song: 'Yeah, it's a massive surprise 100%. It's the most amazing thing to see though.' Jess then performed her own version of Zoe's famous voiceover, reading the full script out in the studio: 'Nothing beats a Jet2 holiday. And right now, you can save £50 per person. That's £200 off for a family of four.' Her rendition was greeted with massive cheers in the studio, including from Zoe herself, who laughed along to Jess' impression of her. Zoe then gave an impromptu live performance of her famous voiceover while Hold My Hand played in the background, once again being received by loud cheering from the hosts. More Trending Hold My Hand spent three weeks at number one in 2015 and spent 51 weeks in total on the UK charts, eventually being certified 3x Platinum by the British Phonographic Industry. Zoe starred as Zoe Carpenter on Hollyoaks between 2006 and 2010, also appearing on Big Brother's Little Brother and T4 On the Beach around the same time. In the 2010s, she turned towards theatre – she was celebrated for her performance as Lady Macbeth during a 2012 run of the William Shakespeare play. Jet2 started using her voiceover in 2019 – four years after she married musician Rob Castell. Got a story? What happened to Sylvanian Drama on TikTok? The legal fight over controversial viral clips explained
Social media account has frequently gone viral for its darkly comedic skits featuring Calico Critters TOY BATTLE What happened to Sylvanian Drama on TikTok? The legal fight over controversial viral clips explained Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) A VIRAL TikTok account that featured toys getting drunk, doing drugs and committing violence is reportedly at the centre of a legal battle. Sylvanian Drama, launched by Irish content creator Thea Von Engelbrechten, is being sued by Japanese company Epoch. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 1 Epoch is suing Sylvanian Drama for infringing its copyright The social media account, which has frequently gone viral for its darkly comedic skits featuring the small toys, mysteriously went quiet this year after it landed in legal hot water with the toys' maker. It is now being reported that Sylvanian Drama, which has 2.5 million followers on TikTok and 1 million on Instagram, is being sued for copyright infringement, trademark infringement and unfair competition. Why is the lawsuit only being reported now? Epoch's lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York on April 7, initially went unnoticed but drew attention last week when some outlets reported on the situation. It came after reporters noticed months of silence from the account. The lawsuit, first reported by The Irish Independent, added that the site also uses a copyrighted image as Sylvanian Drama's social media profile picture. CCTV captures moment toy-loving boy crawls into claw machine The company claims that Thea Von Engelbrechten has been 'doubling her efforts to exploit Epoch's copyrights and trademarks for her own commercial gain' despite the company's attempts to work the issue out amicably. Sylvanian Families, also known as Calico Critters in the United States and Canada, are felt dolls in the shape of cute, anthropomorphized animals. They were first released in Japan in 1985. How did Sylvanian Drama become so popular? The creatures range from bunnies and kittens to squirrels and more, all with wide, black eyes and tiny clothing. The videos on Sylvanian Drama, all of which feature Calico Critters, often rack up millions of views each. Von Engelbrechten began posting Sylvanian Drama videos in 2021, when she was a 19-year-old multimedia student at Dublin City University. She told The Tab in a 2023 interview that her videos were meant to parody shows like 'Gossip Girl' and 'Pretty Little Liars.' 'I'm always surprised that I'm not already canceled for the stuff that I do,' she said. 'I don't mean any harm and also … a lot of the issues that I joke about are problems in my own life. 'There's a lot of stuff about weight and dieting and people struggling with that, and that's all just me joking about myself. So I'm not making fun of anyone.' Inspiration for content As reported by the BBC, the court document states that in an interview with influencer marketing company Fohr, Von Engelbrechten said her inspiration for the storylines came from "cringey TV shows and early 2000s comedy". She added: "I'm also really inspired by my cats because they are extremely sassy and self-obsessed and can be so cute, but they also have no morals when it comes to killing other animals. 'I try to embody that with the Sylvanians." Asked why she thought her videos were so popular she told Fohr: "Maybe it's because it's coming from the voice of a 22-year-old who struggles with the same things as [they do]. 'I have a lot of storylines about insecure people, diet culture, toxic men, and sustainability, which I think other girls my age are also thinking a lot about." Do you have a Sylvanian Families toy worth up to £500 in your house? Anyone who grew up in the 80s will remember the cute Sylvanian Families toys - and some could now fetch you a pretty penny on eBay. The furry animals come in neat family sets (mum and dad, son and daughter), all with old-fashioned outfits, jobs and homes. The cute characters were first introduced in the UK back in 1985, after being designed by Japanese firm Epoch. And it seems like the older and rarer your models, the more they might now be worth online. Last year, a collector sold a rare Japanese doll from 2003 for a whopping £500 - almost five times its auction start price of £99. Another vintage Sylvanian teddy bear from the 1980s sold for £456. A date has been set for August 14 for a pre-trial conference. This is when legal teams from both sides will meet to explore settlement options or prepare the case for trial. Von Engelbrechten and Epoch have yet to respond to press requests for comment.

Amanda Holden does one thing twice a year 'to prove husband exists but he can't stand it'
Amanda Holden has been married to her husband, Chris Hughes, for 14 years, and the star has now shared the one thing she has to do a few times a year to prove he's still part of her family Television star Amanda Holden has revealed she performs one particular ritual twice annually to demonstrate that husband Chris Hughes actually exists. Amanda, 54, has been married to Chris, 51, for 22 years, yet insists that despite the decades together, their union still feels incredibly fresh. The duo first crossed paths in 2003 before exchanging vows in 2008, and share two daughters, Lexi, 19, and Hollie, 13. Nevertheless, the Britain's Got Talent judge said there are certain activities she enjoys that Chris tries to avoid, including maintaining an active social media presence. Consequently, Amanda reveals that several times annually, she compels record producer Chris to feature on her social media platforms to demonstrate he remains among the living. She revealed to The Times: "It does still feel fresh. We're very different people. He can't stand the limelight, hates red carpets, hates turning up anywhere with me, so he doesn't. "Twice a year he gets forced to go on my Instagram just to prove he exists. I will only listen to him on the business side of life. In other ways I'm very spontaneous and don't listen to him at all." This marks not the first occasion Amanda has discussed her marriage, acknowledging earlier this year that, similar to every couple, they continue experiencing highs and lows. She told Hello!: "We have ups and downs like everyone else. But when I was looking at the pain and suffering that some of the people we were working with were going through, I felt so grateful that I had somebody in my life with no complications. "My husband and I always have this joke where we go: 'God, our relationship still feels so fresh.' "Twenty-two years does feel like a long time, but it still feels new to me. I think that's because it's ever-evolving." Amanda also candidly discussed her personal preferences for relaxation. When the Times asked whether she preferred a novel or Netflix, she confessed that it all hinges on the season. She elaborated: "I have the biggest pile of books I'm taking on holiday, and I'm even more excited about reading them than I am about seeing long-lost friends. "But in winter I'm up to my eyeballs in Netflix and Amazon Prime and Apple TV+. I love The Morning Show and Bad Sisters. The Handmaid's Tale is hands-down the best thing I've ever seen."
