V-Mart Retail shares plunged 9.4 per cent on the BSE on Monday, May 5, 2025, after the announcement of the company's March 2025 quarter results. The stock hit an intraday low of ₹3,054.25 per share.
At 1:50 PM, V-Mart shares were trading 7 per cent lower at ₹3,132.10 per share as against a 0.4 per cent rise in the benchmark BSE Sensex index. Around 5,510 shares have changed hands on the V-Mart Retail counter, so far, on the BSE as compared to a two-week average of 2,097 shares.
Why are V-Mart Retail shares falling today?
The decline in V-Mart shares came after investors booked profit in the stock after the Q4FY25 result announcement.
In the March 2025 quarter (Q4FY25), V-Mart Retail reported a revenue growth of 17 per cent year-on-year (Y-o-Y), including LimeRoad's commission income, at ₹780 crore.
Of this, revenue growth from V-Mart (offline) was 19 per cent Y-o-Y at ₹655.6 crore, and Unlimited was 11 per cent Y-o-Y at ₹116.4 crore. LimeRoad's commission income, however, dropped 35 per cent Y-o-Y to ₹10.5 crore.
V-Mart offline sales contributed 84 per cent of the total revenue, Unlimited contributed 15 per cent, and LimeRoad 1 per cent.
The company also turned profitable in the quarter with a net profit of ₹18.5 crore as against a net loss of ₹38.9 crore in the year-ago period. The company managed to reduce LimeRoad net loss by 44 per cent Y-o-Y.
On the margin front, V-Mart's gross margins expanded 140 basis points Y-o-Y to 33.1 per cent in Q4FY25, while Ebitda margin improved 270bp Y-o-Y to 8.7 per cent.
Consolidated Same Store Volume Growth (SSVG), meanwhile, rose to 8 per cent from 5 per cent Y-o-Y.
V-Mart Retail opened 13 new stores and closed 4 stores during the quarter. For the full year FY25, it added 62 new stores and closed 9.

The Board of Directors on V-Mart Retail has approved the issue of 3 fully paid bonus equity shares for every 1 fully paid equity share of face value ₹10.
The record date for determining the eligibility of shareholders for the bonus issue will be announced separately, subject to the shareholders' approval.

Analysts said disappointing quarterly results and continued selling by FIIs dragged stock markets down for the third session in a row. Nifty has tanked over 2 per cent or 539 points while Sensex retreated by 1,835 points or 2.2 per cent to trade at near two-month low levels. Among Sensex firms, Kotak Mahindra Bank tumbled the most by 7.31 per cent after the company reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 4,472 crore for the June quarter, and flagged stress on the retail commercial vehicle portfolio due to adverse macroeconomic conditions. The profit in the year-ago period was Rs 7,448 crore, but it had included gains of over Rs 3,000 crore on its stake sale in the general insurance arm, while the net profit for the March quarter stood at Rs 4,933 crore. Bajaj Finance dropped 3.64 per cent amid asset quality concerns, while Bharti Airtel fell by 2.35 per cent. Tata Consultancy Services dropped 1.76 per cent amid reports that the IT major has decided to lay off over 12,000 employees. Sources said that the IT Ministry is keeping a close watch on the entire situation and is in touch with the tech company over the matter. Titan, HCL Tech and State Bank of India were also among the laggards. However, Hindustan Unilever, Asian Paints, ICICI Bank, Power Grid, HDFC Bank and ITC were the gainers. 'Domestic market sentiment has remained cautious, weighed down by a disappointing set of Q1 earnings, delays in the India-US trade agreement, and continued FII outflows. In contrast, global markets remain broadly positive, supported by US-EU trade developments that are perceived as less concerning than anticipated. 'The upcoming monetary policy decisions from the Fed and BoJ, along with the trajectory of domestic quarterly earnings, are expected to play a pivotal role in shaping market direction in the near term,' Vinod Nair, Head of Research, Geojit Investments Limited, said. The BSE smallcap gauge tumbled 1.31 per cent and midcap index fell by 0.73 per cent. Among BSE sectoral indices, realty tanked 4.11 per cent, followed by telecommunication (1.56 per cent), capital goods (1.49 per cent), BSE industrials (1.40 per cent), teck (1.21 per cent) and metal (1.06 per cent). FMCG and utilities were the gainers. A total of 2,874 stocks declined while 1,264 advanced and 161 remained unchanged on the BSE. Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) offloaded equities worth Rs 1,979.96 crore on Friday, according to exchange data. In Asian markets, Japan's Nikkei 225 index settled lower while South Korea's Kospi, Shanghai's SSE Composite index and Hong Kong's Hang Seng ended in positive territory. Markets in Europe were trading in the green. The US markets ended higher on Friday. Global oil benchmark Brent crude climbed 0.91 per cent to USD 69.05 a barrel. The rupee pared initial gains and settled 15 paise lower at 86.67 (provisional) against the US dollar due to month-end dollar demand from importers. Arvind Fashions posts Rs 23 crore standalone net loss in June quarter

Apparel manufacturer Arvind Fashions Ltd on Monday posted a fourfold year-on-year (yoy) increase in standalone net losses at Rs 22.9 crore for the first quarter ending June on back of a 13.5% yoy decline in revenue from operations at Rs 118.2 crore. The company did not give any reason behind this fall. ADVERTISEMENT However, on a consolidated basis, Arvind Fashions' net profit for the first quarter went up to Rs 13 crore as compared to Rs 1 crore a year back. Consolidated revenue jumped by 16% yoy at Rs 1,107 crore. No reason was shared for this better performance at a consolidated level. Arvind Fashions managing director Shailesh Chaturvedi said the first quarter reported a bright start to the financial year with revenue growth reaching 16%. "This is a testimony of our conscious efforts of investing in higher marketing to re-energize our industry leading brands leading to strong awareness and higher footfalls along with market share gains. Moving ahead, we will continue to focus on our direct channel strategy resulting in higher bottom-line & ROCE (return on capital employed).'The company's growth for the online channel was 30%-plus. The contribution of the online B2C channel increased from 13% to 15% in the quarter under review over the same period last fiscal. Maharatna PSU Oil India announced that the company's board of directors will hold its scheduled quarterly meeting on Tuesday, 12 August 2025, according to an exchange filing on Monday, 28 July 2025. The State-owned company will also announce its April-June quarter results for the 2025-26 fiscal year on the same day. 'It is hereby informed that the board meeting of the company is scheduled to be held on Tuesday, 12 August 2025, inter alia, to consider and approve the unaudited financial results of the company for the quarter ended 30 June 2025 on a Standalone and Consolidated basis,' the company informed the BSE through an official filing. According to a PTI report, Oil India's fourth quarter results for the financial year ended 2024-25 recorded a 21% fall in consolidated net profits to ₹ 1,591.48 crore, compared with ₹ 2,028.83 crore in the same period a year ago. In the final quarter of the financial year 2025-26, the company's revenue from its core operations also dropped to ₹ 6,182.79 crore from ₹ 6,589.91 crore, due to the lower oil and gas prices. However, the company also achieved the highest ever oil and gas production of 6.71 million tonnes of oil equivalent in the financial year 2024-25, according to the agency report. Oil India shares closed 1.96% lower at ₹ 426.25 after Monday's stock market session, compared to ₹ 434.75 at the previous market close. The company announced the date of its April-June quarter results declaration after stock market operating hours on 28 July 2025. Oil India shares hit their 52-week high level at ₹ 767.30 on 30 August 2024, while the 52-week low level was at ₹ 322.15 on 7 April 2025, according to the BSE data. The PSU oil producer's shares have given stock market investors more than 561% returns on their investment in the last five years. However, the stock has lost 26.55% in the last one-year period. On a year-to-date (YTD) basis, the shares are down 2.47% in 2025 and are trading 5.71% lower in the last five market sessions on the Indian stock market. The company's market capitalisation (M-Cap) stands at ₹ 69,334.16 crore as of the stock market close on Monday, 28 July 2025.
