One injured after road rage shooting on Interstate 70 in west Columbus
According to Columbus police, a 911 call was received from a man who said he had been shot while driving on I-70 West, near West Mound Street. The caller stated the shooting was a result of a road-rage incident that involved his vehicle and a gold-colored Chevrolet Equinox.

Police dispatch reported that the two vehicles were 'brake-checking' each other, according to a witness, who said the incident started at the Interstate 71 and State Route 315 split. The drivers continued westbound before a person in the Equinox fired at the victim, who was driving a black Ford F-150.
Officers located the caller on I-70 West, near the Hague Avenue exit, and he was taken to a local hospital after being shot in the face. He is considered to be in a non-life-threatening condition.
Sgt. Joe Albert said police continue to search for the driver of the Equinox, who fled the scene. Interstate 70 westbound was closed, beginning at the Interstate 71 and State Route 315 interchanges while investigators process the scene until around 9:15 a.m.
'It's extremely hard to recover evidence on the freeway because of the amount of vehicles that have traveled since that incident took place, but (we shut it down) just out of precautionary to hopefully collect some evidence.'

Steam room sex assault vics can reach out to Equinox workers, New York appeals court says
A state appeals court has cleared the way for lawyers of those who say they were sexually assaulted inside steam rooms at Equinox gyms to find and contact possible witnesses. The decision is believed to be the first of its kind in a civil case, said Marc Held, an attorney for the victims. Equinox ran to court after Held sent letters to 71 Equinox employees in December 2022 about the now long-running lawsuit, in which 11 people claimed they were 'sexually assaulted, attacked [or subjected to] indecent exposure' in the popular gym chain's steam rooms — and that management knew and did nothing to stop it. Advertisement The company claimed Held should have warned the workers that whatever they said about the alleged sexual assaults could hurt Equinox, and that they should speak with an attorney. Nearly a dozen victims sued Equinox, claiming the gym chain knew its steam rooms were hotbeds of sexual assault. Held described Equinox's bid for the legal warning as 'def-facto Miranda rights,' a reference to the description of rights typically given to someone arrested in a criminal case. Police seek suspect who shot, killed 4 people in Montana bar
Aug. 2 (UPI) -- Authorities are searching for a suspect in the shooting deaths of four people at a bar in a small town in western Montana. The Montana Division of Criminal Investigation identified the gunman in the shooting, which happened on Friday morning at the Owl Bar in Anaconda, Mont., as 45-year-old Michael Paul Brown. Anaconda is 130 miles east of Idaho and 198 miles west of Bozeman, Mont.. "This is a small, tight-knit community that has been harmed by the heinous actions of one individual today who does not represent what this community or Montanans stand for," Lee Johnson, with the agency, said. Johnson said his Ford F-150 pickup was found, and that officials were searching the mountains near Stumptown Road just west of Anaconda. Residents of the town, of whom there are roughly 10,000, were told Friday night to stay in their homes and be vigilant because he was considered armed and dangerous. SWAT team members cleared his home in neighboring Granite City, the Anaconda-Deer Lodge County Law Enforcement Center said. The home is about 25 minutes from the bar. "I've bartended quite a few years, so I'm pretty familiar with most everyone," Sierra, a 7 Gables employee, told KPAX-TV about Brown. "I have met him multiple times. I have served him multiple times. I have had conversations with him multiple times. I have not served him up here yet. "We're waiting for the kitchen chef to be done so we can actually all leave together and so we all know each other made it safe." Agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are assisting in the investigation and the FBI's Deputy Director posted on X that agents are being sent to the area to assist. Montana Gov. Greg Gianfort also posted Friday on X that he was "closely monitoring the situation involving an active shooter in Anaconda." Officials have identified the four victims have been identified, but they declined to release their names until their families had been notified.
