What happened to Boston Celtics forward Reggie Lewis? The Celtics dynasty of the 1980s that started under Boston Hall of Famers Larry Bird, Robert Parish, and Kevin McHale looked poised to continue with the rise of Lewis after the Celtics drafted him out of the NCAA ranks.
But a hidden health issue would take the young Boston star from his family, friends, team, and fans far too soon, Lewis collapsing on a court with a rare heart issue that would ultimately take his life. Celtics beat writers from that era Bob Ryan and Dan Shaugnessy took some time on a recent episode of the "NBA History and Storytellers on CLNS" show to talk over his untimely loss.
Take a look at the clip embedded below to hear what they had to say about what was lost -- and what might have been.

Harper and Schwarber spark the Phillies to a 9-4 win over the reeling Yankees, who await Judge news

NEW YORK (AP) — Bryce Harper homered deep into the right-field bleachers and Kyle Schwarber hit a two-run double after New York's 10th error in five games, sparking the Philadelphia Phillies to a 9-4 win Saturday as the reeling Yankees awaited test rests on the right elbow of captain Aaron Judge. Trea Turner drove in two runs and Edmundo Sosa also homered for the Phillies, who opened a 9-1 lead. Philadelphia started the day a half-game behind the NL East-leading New York Mets. Schwarber had six RBIs and Turner was 6 for 11 as Philadelphia outscored New York 21-9 in the first two games of the three-game series. Ranger Suárez (8-4) allowed one run and seven hits in 5 2/3 innings with eight strikeouts and one walk, throwing a season-high 108 pitches. Judge was out of the Yankees' starting lineup for just the second time this season. His elbow has been bothering him since a throw Tuesday at Toronto, and manager Aaron Boone said the two-time AL MVP was sent for a scan Saturday morning. New York began the day a season-high 5 1/2 games behind AL East-leading Toronto and dropped to 3-5 since the All-Star break. Schwarber doubled after second baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr. bobbled Turner's potential inning-ending, double-play grounder in the seventh, Chisholm's 12th error this season. Ryan McMahon went 1 for 3 with a walk in his Yankees debut, a day after the third baseman was acquired from Colorado for a pair of pitching prospects. Marcus Stroman (2-2) allowed four runs, five hits and four walks in 3 2/3 innings. Sosa hit a two-run homer in the seventh off Allan Winans and Giancarlo Stanton hit a two-run drive against Daniel Robert in the bottom half. Key plays Sosa left with a bruised back after the third baseman was elbowed by left fielder Brandon Marsh in a collision while catching Chisholm's seventh-inning popup. Key stat New York is 21-28 following a 35-20 start. Up next New York LHP Carlos Rodón (10-7, 3.10) and Philadelphia RHP Zack Wheeler (9-3, 2.39) start Sunday's series finale. ___ AP MLB:

Briscoe wins Brickyard 400 pole to earn top starting spot in 3rd straight crown jewel race

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Chase Briscoe became the first driver to win poles at NASCAR's first three crown jewel races in one season Saturday, taking the Brickyard 400 pole with a fast lap of 183.165 mph. His late run bumped Bubba Wallace out of the top starting spot. The Joe Gibbs Racing driver has won nine career poles, five coming this season including those at the Daytona 500, Coca-Cola 600 and now the only race held in Briscoe's home state. He'll have a chance to complete a crown jewel sweep at the Southern 500 in late August. Briscoe has the most pole wins this season, his latest coming on Indianapolis Motor Speedway's 2.5-mile oval. It also came on the same weekend his sister was married in Indiana. Briscoe has never won the Brickyard. Wallace starts next to Briscoe on the front row after posting a lap of 183.117 mph. Those two also led a pack of five Toyotas to the front of the field — marking the first time the engine manufacturer has swept the top five spots. Qualifying was held after a brief, rescheduled practice session. Friday's practice was rained out. Briscoe's teammate, Ty Gibbs, has the early edge in the championship round of NASCAR's first In-Season Challenge. He qualified fifth at 182.445. Ty Dillon starts 26th. The winner will be crowned champion and walk away with $1 million. Last week's race winner Denny Hamlin faces a major hurdle in winning his first Brickyard title. He crashed hard during qualifying and will start from the back of the field, 39th, as he tries to become the fifth driver to complete a career sweep of the Cup's crown jewel races. The 44-year-old Hamlin signed a two-year contract extension with JGR on Friday. Defending race winner Kyle Larson starts 13th. ___ AP auto racing:

Titans agree to terms with WR Ramel Keyton after Treylon Burks' injury

The Titans' wide receivers room took a hit to its depth Saturday when former first-round pick Treylon Burks fractured his collarbone. The team solved that by agreeing to terms with free agent Ramel Keyton, according to multiple reports. Keyton, 24, was among a handful of players who worked out for the Titans on Friday. He entered the NFL in 2024, signing with the Raiders as an undrafted free agent. Keyton spent time on Las Vegas' practice squad and active roster. Keyton saw action on 44 offensive snaps and 64 on special teams in eight games last season as a rookie. He caught one pass for 7 yards and made one tackle on special teams. The Raiders waived him April 25.
