Liverpool forward Diogo Jota and his brother Andre Silva lost their lives in a car accident in Spain on Thursday. The incident occurred in the municipality of Cernadilla in northwestern Zamora province.
The Civil Guard reported that the vehicle went off the motorway and caught fire after midnight. The accident happened due to a tire blowout during an overtaking attempt.

"Everything points to the blowout of a tyre while it (the vehicle) was overtaking," the Civil Guard said in a statement. "The car was burned out, and they died inside," Angel Blanco, the central government's representative in Zamora, told reporters.
Local media showed images of the burned remains of Jota's Lamborghini. Scorched debris and burn marks were visible on the motorway verge.
Jota had recently married Rute Cardoso on June 22 and posted their wedding video on Instagram hours before the accident. The couple had three children.

'I feel pity' - Garry Kasparov asserts Gukesh not ready for Blitz

Former world champion has said the win against in the Rapid event of the ongoing SuperUnited Rapid and Blitz chess tournament in Zagreb had a huge psychological effect on the 19-year-old Gukesh. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now 'I feel pity (at Gukesh's results), because Gukesh played such a great rapid portion. I think the win over Magnus had a huge effect on Gukesh; psychologically, it's such a big win," said Kasparov. Go Beyond The Boundary with our YouTube channel. SUBSCRIBE NOW! Kasparov asserted that Gukesh isn't yet ready for Blitz. "I thought Gukesh's games were feeble yesterday and today. Because it's very fast, and he's probably not ready to show his skills in blitz. In blitz, every gram of your energy that is being wasted on something else just has a very negative effect. "The games he lost today, some of them were just terrible. Losing to Magnus I understand, anybody can lose the game. But even in this game, we didn't see his tenacity.' 'Something is wrong with Gukesh. Yesterday was not a great day. His games were very feeble. Yes, he beat So (Wesley), but his game against Giri was a sign of trouble for me,' Kasparov said. Poll Do you think Gukesh can recover from his recent losses in blitz chess? Yes, he will bounce back No, he needs more experience It's uncertain He should stick to rapid chess 'Magnus is a favourite already. He definitely has recovered after the disaster of Rapid.' He started off with five losses in the blitz section before recovering a bit by drawing the sixth game, but he lost the seventh. Despite winning the eighth game, Gukesh eventually lost to Praggnanandhaa. Meanwhile, Carlsen scored a whopping 7.5 points from his nine games to come back in front. It was indeed an indication of things to come, since in the last edition, the Norwegian had won his last nine games to be crowned champion. Gukesh was at his prime in the rapid section, wherein he won as many as six games, including one against Carlsen, but the Indian was way below par in the blitz, which saw him losing six games on the opening day of the fastest version of the game.

'Don't Think Wicket Is Going To...': Steve Smith Hopes Australia Extend Lead To 300

Australia extended their lead to 254 runs thanks to half-centuries from former skipper Steve Smith and allrounder Cameron Green on a rain-hit day. Half-centuries by Steve Smith and Cameron Green transformed Australia's precarious situation into a commanding position against the West Indies on day three of the second Test on Saturday. Australia, leading 1-0 in the three-Test series, regained control by recovering its second innings from 12/2 at the start of the day to 221/7 at stumps, securing a substantial lead of 254 runs. With the pitch often playing tricks and shooting low, Australia felt confident about setting a target beyond the West Indies' reach. 'We are in a nice spot," Smith said. 'I don't think the wicket is going to get any better; it will probably do a few more tricks. The new ball is going to be pretty crucial for us. Hopefully, we can get the lead up to somewhere around 300." Australia struggled to score 209 runs in 58.3 overs amidst three delays due to showers, which resulted in nearly two hours of lost play. When stumps were called due to bad light, Alex Carey was on 26 off 27 balls with captain Pat Cummins on 4. But they were in control. Smith joined Green after nightwatchman Nathan Lyon held out for nine overs to reach 8. The first ball Smith faced from Alzarri Joseph struck his right glove. Inside the glove was the pinkie finger he dislocated in the World Test Championship final last month, which had sidelined him from the first Test in Barbados. 'It was not ideal getting hit on the finger, but it feels all right," Smith said. 'It is that kind of surface. Some can shoot up; you might have to take a few on the hands." Green resumed the day on 6 and soon surpassed his highest score at No. 3 in the order, 15. After lunch, his fifth boundary earned him 50 off 122 balls. However, he was dismissed next ball, edging Shamar Joseph onto his stumps. Green ended on 52, concluding a 93-run partnership with Smith. Smith's sixth boundary brought up his 50 in 79 balls. He and Travis Head guided Australia to tea with a lead of 208. But shortly after, Smith was trapped by Justin Greaves. Smith reviewed, but it showed the ball hitting his pad in front of off stump. His 71 off 119 balls included seven boundaries and a six off Roston Chase over long-off. Greaves also dismissed Beau Webster for 2, but Head and Carey boosted the total with a 31-run surge before Head's off stump was bowled by Shamar Joseph on 39.
