Man spends £12,480 to become a dog and practices rolling, sitting and paw
A man who spent more than £12,000 to become a life-size dog has announced that his human zoo is still open for business, after previously worrying that he wouldn't get enough bookings.
The Japanese man, who goes by the name Toco the dog, can often be spotted rolling on the floor and greeting confused passers-by in the park. He has since raked in a following of over 73,000 people on YouTube.
Toco had been living his dream of turning canine for several years, but despite his efforts to transform into his favourite breed, he still wasn't satisfied. He took his ambitions one step further by announcing that he would open a facility called the Tokotoko Zoo. For £250, visitors can dress up as an Alaskan Malamute, with hyper-realistic costumes with jaws that can open and close.
However, his bookings were not looking good at the start of this month. Toco wrote on social media: "Our opening day is Sunday, May 4, but if we do not receive any reservations by Saturday, April 19, we will close the store."
Man who lives in £12,000 dog suit could be forced to close 'human zoo'
But things have since turned around with the zoo website issuing an update, stating that it will next open in the summer. "Our next business day is scheduled for after July. We will contact you as soon as it is confirmed," the notice said.
It was his lifelong dream to turn into a dog, and a talented costume company made his unusual request happen. Toco bought a realistic border collie costume from Zeppet, a Japanese agency known for creating sculptures and models for movies.
It reportedly took Zeppet 40 days to make the costume, as Toco kept adding improvements to make it perfect. "I made it a collie because it looks real when I put it on," Toco told Japanese news outlet Mynavi.
"My favourite is quadrupedal animals, especially cute ones. Among them, I thought that a big animal close to me would be good, considering that it would be a realistic model, so I decided to make it a dog. I met such a condition and made a collie, my favourite breed of dog."
When Toco was asked if he could move his limbs freely, he said that he is able to with resistance. He also explained that if he moves too much, he won't look like a realistic dog.
A Zeppet employee spoke about how the team found a way to create the skeleton structure of a dog, and spent a lot of time studying it. They said at the time: "In addition, we collect photographs taken from various angles so that the beautiful coat of the collie can be reproduced and devised so that the coat will flow naturally."
Toco, who has his own YouTube channel, shared a now-viral video of himself in the costume, titled: 'I tried to become a collie'. He can be seen rolling over for belly rubs, pretending to sit and lifting his paws.
Zeppet also shared a selection of images of the costume on Twitter, racking up thousands of likes and retweets.
Toco is still encouraging people to book a trip to his zoo. The website states: "Have you ever wanted to be an animal? Have you ever imagined yourself as something other than yourself and felt excited? We offer a service that can help make that wish come true, even if only a little, by having you wear a costume."

Only 1 in 3 can work out which hat contains the cat in baffling brainteaser
A mind-boggling brainteaser which requires a sharp-mind and critical thinking skills has left the majority of Brits scratching their heads - but can you work it out? Discover whether you have the mind of a modern-day genius with this impossibly challenging brainteaser that most people fail. Solving puzzles and riddles might seem like nothing more than a boredom buster, but they're actually a great form of mental exercise. In fact, some studies have even found that solving brainteasers like this one can improve your concentration levels and attention span, by positively impacting the central nervous system. So while it won't turn you into a rocket scientist or get you into Oxford University, it's still worth attempting. However, this particular brainteaser isn't for the average Joe - and you'll need a sky-high IQ to crack it. So, let's dive straight in... The image above shows three red hats, each containing a black cat. As previously reported, this puzzle first made its appearance on the YouTube channel 'Mend Your Decisions', and comes with three statements - along with the following advice: "Exactly one of the statements is true. Exactly one hat contains a cat." Hat 1: The cat is in this hat. Hat 2: The cat is not in this hat. Hat 3: The cat is not in hat 1. Feeling a little lost already? That's understandable, as only one in three Brits will actually be able to solve this. So, which of the hats contains the cat? The possible answers are: Hat 1. Hat 2. Hat 3. None of them. Not enough information. You must initially consider the possibility of the cat being in all the hats. Following that, you need to determine which of the earlier statements is accurate and which two are incorrect. Once you're done, you can check your answer at the bottom of the article. If that baffling brainteaser was no match for a smarty pants like yourself, check out this even harder puzzle created by the Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ). You'll need to be as smart as a spy to crack this one, and only have 20 seconds to do so. So, put your 007 thinking cap on and work out the hidden word amongst the below. Once you're done, you can check your answer here. Madison Saturn Do Nitrogen Exodus ANSWER: By process of elimination, let's say the cat is in hat 1. This implies that the first two statements are true, while the third is false - which means the cat can't be in hat one. Moving onto the second hat, if this is where the animal is then the first two statements are false, but the third is true by process of elimination. This implies that only one statement is accurate: the cat is in the second hat, which indeed turns out to be the solution.

I'm 16 - my boss's question about my sex life disgusted me
I was sitting in the work van with my boss when he asked a question that made my skin crawl. Putting down his cup, lighting a cigarette, and turning to me, he said leeringly: 'So have you and your girlfriend done anal yet?' I'm 16 years old. This was my first job and I'd been working for Steve* for a couple of months. At the moment, I'm studying engineering at college part-time and wanted a job so I could help out at home. Steve is the boss and owner of the company, where we mainly visit sites and perform maintenance. When I first got the job, I was so happy. It seemed like a professional place and Steve and Jim* – the only other staff members, in their 50s and 30s, respectively – were alright at first. But it took Steve two weeks of working together for his behaviour towards me to go downhill. He would often call me a 'pussy' and say things like 'are you f**king deaf' or 'are you f**king stupid' if I didn't hear or understand what he said. He didn't properly teach me how to do things, but shouted at me if I made a mistake. While all of that was horrible enough, the worst part was that Steve and Jim talked about sex and hardcore pornography all the time. They passed their phones between them, watching porn clips and photos, and waved them in my face. X Factor icon Diana Vickers and Metro's dating expert Alice Giddings dive into your wildest sex, love, and dating dilemmas – every Tuesday. Listen wherever you get your podcasts or watch on YouTube. And be sure to follow and subscribe so you never miss an episode. You can also join the fun on our WhatsApp Group Chat here – share your dilemmas and Diana and Alice may just give you a call. It felt so gross and uncomfortable that a man over three decades older than me was trying to talk to me about porn. I wanted to ask him to stop but I didn't know how. I didn't want to upset them and I felt like I had to look at the images because I didn't want to be called a 'pussy'. So I did. Steve would also ask me about my sex life with my girlfriend. He seemed obsessed with anal sex and continually asked me if I'd done it and when I was going to do it. He would then take the piss out of me when I refused to talk about it. He once held out his phone and said, 'look at this photo of my c**k.' I looked away as he laughed hysterically. Everything he did was excused as 'just a joke'. To make matters worse, they'd often point out women on the street and say things like 'she'd get it' – or worse. Once, at a care home, Steve made thrusting movements with his hips behind a woman when she was bending forward. I was terrified that she would see him and I felt so embarrassed. He would always laugh at me when my face went red, I hated it. I'm disappointed that this was my first experience of a workplace One day, after hours of listening to Steve talk about porn and them both shouting at me, I finally couldn't take it anymore. I got home and ran straight to my room. My mum came to check on me. That's when I ended up telling her everything – all about the sex talk, the inappropriate questions, the 'jokes' and how they would always shout and swear at me. She was shocked. She told me that what I'd been going through was called workplace bullying. As soon as she said that, it made sense. That's why I felt so miserable going to work every day. I had thought that this was just what working in a trade was like – that it was just 'banter' – and that I was the one with the problem for not being able to just go along with it all. She was disgusted and upset that two grown men could put a child through what I'd been dealing with. She told me that I didn't have to go back and I felt so relieved. We wrote an email to Steve the next day explaining why I wouldn't be returning to work. I felt a little sick when we sent it off. He replied and tried to blame me for everything. He said that I was lazy and disinterested. He also said that the sex talk was just 'banter' and that I'd have to 'toughen up' if I wanted to work in a manual labour role. It was exactly what my mum expected him to say, and she had warned me that he might try and turn it around on me. I want to work for a boss I can look up to, not someone who enjoys humiliating me My mum pointed out that if Steve had genuine issues about my performance at work, he should have discussed them with me in a professional manner. He never did that. In the aftermath, I've spoken to some college friends and a few of them have experienced this type of behaviour too. They've listened to their older colleagues cat-call women, comment on their figures, and seen them pass porn around on their phones. More Trending I'm disappointed that this was my first experience of a workplace, but hopeful that not all bosses will be like Steve. Since leaving, I've been looking for something new, but the competition for part-time work in my area is really high and I haven't found anything yet. There's a part of me that's worried I'll end up in the same situation. But I want to work for a boss I can look up to, not someone who enjoys humiliating me. And I need bosses to know just how their 'banter' can affect the boys who work for them. This article was originally published May 29, 2025 Do you have a story you'd like to share? Freddie answered: "You'll see a lot of it unfold." Ella confirmed: "You'll see." Freddie admitted: "Normally we wouldn't be allowed to mention Big Brother and other shows but they let us do it." The blonde bombshell has recently spoken out against her ex-boyfriend Dan Edgar, accusing him of not "treating her with much respect." The former Towie couple called it quits 18 months after getting together, just days before her stint on Celebrity Big Brother in April. Now, Ella has spoken out about her experience with Dan, especially in the aftermath of their break-up and promised fans would get to see why they ended things on the upcoming season of Towie. The reality TV star was also quizzed about whispers that Dan already has a new girlfriend, but she refused to partake in gossip. Last month, Dan, 35, caused a stir on a Jet2 flight from London Stansted to Faro in Portugal after making a bold move on a woman mid-journey as Ella watched on. CBB ex Ella was accused of shooting 'death stares' to Dan during the entire conversation as Love Island: All Stars couple Sammy Root and Elma Pazar watched on. Dan's potential new romance comes as the Towie cast jetted off to Portugal to kick off filming for the long-running ITV reality series' 15th anniversary. The ITV2 show has splashed out on a cast getaway to celebrate the milestone occasion.
