Tarik Skubal Calls Out Major League Baseball For Tigers All-Star Game Omissions Sunday
The Detroit Tigers improved their MLB best record to 57-34 with a 7-2 road win over the Cleveland Guardians on Sunday on the strength of a 10th-inning go-ahead three run homer off of the bat of shortstop Trey Sweeney.

The Tigers' big win was followed up a 5-1 Los Angeles Dodgers loss to the Houston Astros, giving AJ Hinch's team the best record in Major League Baseball once again.
Sunday also brought with it news on MLB's 2025 All-Star Game rosters which included disappointing news on the Tigers front that caused Detroit All-Star and former Cy Young winner Tarik Skubal to react in an emotional fashion.

"It means a lot," Skubal said about his All-Star Game nod on Sunday.
"To be able to go share it with more teammates and stuff (is) also pretty special," he added.
"To be honest I'm pretty disappointed with only the four guys we got, I think there's a lot more deserving guys on our team, you know, we've got the best record in the American League, umm, I would like to think that we'd be more represented there," Skubal added, naming Tigers players he thought should have gotten picked.

"As much as I enjoy it that I'm going I'm pretty disappointed with only the four of us going," Skubal added in comments captured on camera in the Tigers' locker room after their win over Cleveland.
The Tigers made the playoffs last season before falling to the Guardians and are the odds-on favorite to win the American League Central and return to MLB's second season later this year.

The right-hander improved to 16-6 with a 2.96 ERA in 27 career starts against Chicago. Mike Tauchman had three hits and two RBIs for the last-place White Sox, who won two of three at Toronto last month. Colson Montgomery, one of the team's top prospects, went 0 for 3 with a walk in his home debut. The Blue Jays opened an 8-1 lead when they scored five times in the sixth. Barger hit a two-run drive off Sean Burke for his 12th homer, and Loperfido chopped a two-run single over a drawn-in infield. Red Sox hit 3 home runs, power past Rockies 9-3 to post 4th straight victory
BOSTON (AP) — Roman Anthony hit a two-run home run, Ceddanne Rafaela homered for the third straight game and the Boston Red beat the the Colorado Rockies 9-3 on Monday night. Boston rookie Richard Fitts (1-3) allowed five hits, two earned runs and struck out six over 5 2/3 innings to notch his first major league victory. Romy Gonzalez added a solo homer, and Abraham Toro had a two-run double to help Boston post its fourth straight win and seventh in nine games. Rockies starter Austin Gomber (0-2) exited after 4 2/3 innings, yielding five runs and seven hits, including Anthony's homer. Colorado's first run of the game was set up by a throwing error on Boston shortstop Trevor Story. In the sixth inning, the Rockies pulled to 5-3 on a fielder's choice RBI by Michael Toglia and RBI single by Ryan McMahon.
