James Cameron's Avatar: Fire and Ash trailer reveals new characters and drama. Sam Worthington hints at Jake and Neytiri's split after losing their child.
The first trailer for Avatar: Fire and Ash is out, and James Cameron is introducing new characters and fresh drama in his third movie set in the world of Pandora. Recently, actor Sam Worthington gave a hint about the story, saying that there is a split in the relationship between his character Jake Sully and Neytiri, played by Zoe Saldana. This change happens after they lose their only child, Neteyam. According to Sam, Jake and Neytiri are hurt by this loss and find it hard to heal together. As a result, they split, to handle their pain in different ways, as 'Jake heads back to battle and Neytiri kind of closes down."
Speaking with Empire Magazine, Worthington teased, 'Because of Neteyam's death, there is now a division in that relationship. That's a great design by Jim, how do you split apart the perfect love story? Jake and Neytiri share this painful wound, but they can't seem to heal each other. So they kind of split, not because they want to, but because they're just trying to survive within themselves. Jake heads back to battle and Neytiri kind of closes down."
'The peacemaker that Jake was in 2 has changed, because he's grieving. He doesn't know how to go forward, and so he goes back to the world that he knows, which is soldiering. To attack, to go to war, that's a comforting place for Jake," Sam Worthington added.
Director James Cameron explained that all the main characters in Avatar: Fire and Ash are dealing with trauma. Jake is trying to cope with losing his son, while Lo'ak is struggling with sadness and guilt after his brother's death. The filmmaker believes that if the feelings and relationships in the story feel real, then even the most unusual things, like flying creatures, can still feel believable to the audience.
Avatar: Fire and Ash also stars Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Oona Chaplin, Cliff Curtis, Trinity Jo-Li Bliss, Jack Champion, Bailey Bass and Kate Winslet. The film is set to hit theatres on December 19.

On August 3, ASTRO's youngest member, Sanha, shared a humorous yet heartfelt anecdote about their group chat with fans. He revealed that on Saturday, August 2, Eun Woo used his allotted one hour of daily phone time to reach out with a plea: 'Eun Woo hyung suddenly said, 'How did MJ do it? Save me.'" He was referring to ASTRO's eldest member MJ, who completed his military service earlier. Sanha added with a chuckle, 'Even our physically fit Eun Woo hyung seems to be having a hard time. Meanwhile, an unexpected tidbit from an online user has further added to the military camp narrative. The user claimed her boyfriend, who is training alongside Eun Woo, told her that fellow recruits couldn't stop staring at the K-pop star. It reportedly got so intense that an instructor had to step in and scold them, saying, 'He's human too, stop looking at him."
