India Box Office: ‘Saiyaara' In Global Top 10 For Second Week
After making record opening day and opening weekend collections, the new Hindi film Saiyaara has added yet another gem in its box office success journey - the film ranked among top-grossing films worldwide for the second week in a row. Comscore recorded nearly $43 million worldwide gross for the film which is the ninth highest-grossing film worldwide for the weekend ending July 27.
Saiyaara scores $43 million in a week
Indian actor Ahaan Panday's debut Bollywood film Saiyaara is scoring big at the box office even one week after its release. Globally, the Hindi film earned $14.4 million over its second weekend.
Saiyaara opened in limited screens in India - nearly half of the usual big releases and still managed to make it big. It ranks among the top opening films with debutants as well as for romantic films in recent times. It also marked the biggest opening for a Mohit Suri film.
Saiyyaara had an unexpected opening on July 18 – it earned $2.5 million in India and the numbers topped $3 million worldwide. Featuring newcomers Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda in lead roles, the romantic musical saga is directed by Mohit Suri.
In its first weekend, Saiyyaara scored $13.8 million worldwide to become the ninth highest-grossing film worldwide on Comscore's weekly list. Saiyaara also scored second-highest opening weekend numbers for an Indian film, next only to Vicky Kaushal-starrer Chhaava. Fans of the movie are hailing it as one of the top opening films with newcomers.
On its first Monday, Saiyaara earned $2.8 million at the Indian ticket windows. It maintained the same pace on Tuesday as well. By the end of the first week, the film grossed $24 million in India alone.
Globally, the film scored nearly $30 million in one week at the box office. In its second weekend, Saiyaara grossed $32.4 million by Friday, the eighth day at the global box office. It posted a second weekend figure of $14.6 million worldwide. Saiyaara grossed $42.9 million in ten days at the global box office. It earned $34.2 million in India in ten days. In the US markets alone, the film earned more than $1.2 million in its second weekend and Comscore ranked it as ninth highest-grossing film in the US for the weekend ending July 27.
Much before the film's release, fans hailed Saiyaara as the unofficial third film in Mohit Suri's hit romantic franchise Aashiqui. Saiyaara is not the official sequel to Aashiqui 2. Though it offers quite a similar plot - artists falling in love, their emotional turmoils, sacrifices and efforts they make for their selfless love.
The premise of Saiyaara is loosely based on the 2004 Korean film A Moment To Remember. Ahaan Panday is an aspiring musician and Aneet Padda is a shy writer. As they deal with their personal trauma, the artists fall in love and begin working towards the betterment of the other. Though impractical at many times, Saiyaara is an emotional treat full of passion. The perfect pick for those who love tragic love stories without a tragic ending.

"He Gained All The Weight Luka Lost": James Harden Criticized By Fans For Seeming Unfit In Asia Tour
"He Gained All The Weight Luka Lost": James Harden Criticized By Fans For Seeming Unfit In Asia Tour originally appeared on Fadeaway World. James Harden has a massive fan base in Asia, especially in China, where the Clippers star is revered as one of the greatest players of all time. From addressing Daryl Morey's controversy in 2019 to calling Morey out and announcing his exit from the 76ers in 2023, Harden has always kept it real with his Chinese fans. Now, on his most recent trip to China, Harden has come under public scrutiny for seemingly adding a few pounds to his weight. While thousands of fans in China gathered together to welcome Harden to their country, fans online were more concerned about the Clippers star's fitness situation. A clip from Harden's visit to China went viral, and fans flooded social media with jokes and also showed concerns over his weight. Not all fans were just making jokes about him. Some even believed that this was a part of his usual cycle, and he would transform his body back into fitness by the time the season begins in October. "He gained all the weight Luka lost," said a fan who compared Harden's fitness to Luka Doncic's body transformation this summer. "Kendrick Perkins would look skinny next to Harden." "He's gotta be wearing that fat suit, there's no way." "Please tell me he got some enemies and he's wearing a vest or something." "James Harden definitely found all the buffets out there in China." "James Harden looks like he absorbed Luka Doncic like Cell from Dragon Ball Z." "Lmao yall stay body watching bro it's the offseason he'll come in the season in shape and stay in shape until the next offseason." "That's a typical preseason Harden." "This is just a sneak peek at how James Harden will likely look as soon as he retires from the NBA. Bro wants to enjoy them meals and millions in peace, and I feel him." "He still gone hit that step back on em is the crazy thing," said a faithful fan who believed that Harden could still perform at the same level as he did despite the weight gain. The Clippers' star reportedly was a key reason why Chris Paul and Bradley Beal joined them this season. Days after signing his $81.5 million extension with the Clippers, Harden is now having the time of his life vacationing in China. The All-Star guard finished last season while averaging 22.8 points, 8.7 assists, and 5.8 rebounds in the regular season. This is not the first time we have seen a major transformation in Harden's physique headed into the offseason. NBA players' bodies transform at a much faster rate than non-athletes, seemingly due to their increased rate of metabolism. Won't be a surprise if somehow Harden manages to lose all the weight he has gained by the time the next season begins. But with passing time and age, will Harden be able to bounce back once again? Or are we seeing a decline towards retirement for the 35-year-old star? I expect that we will see a repeat of the same cycle, and Harden will be back to his prime fitness by the beginning of the 2025-26 story was originally reported by Fadeaway World on Aug 4, 2025, where it first appeared.

New ‘Virtua Fighter' Looks Stunning In Latest Gameplay Trailer
It took a while, but we've finally been shown some proper gameplay footage from the new Virtua Fighter, and it looks incredible. The Virtua Fighter series is one that I consider to be 'serious' in terms of how each of the games plays. There is a genuine and impressive level of functional complexity and nuance in these games, and outside of Japan, they haven't been properly appreciated. Decades ago, when I lived in Japan for the first time, I remember vividly how Virtua Fighter 4 was received in the arcades. It was treated as something apart from other games at the time, and the scene surrounding it was verging on academic in terms of its gameplay analysis. So a new Virtua Fighter has a lot to live up to, not least because both Street Fighter and Tekken have pushed the graphical bar already very high for modern fighting games. Thankfully, from the new gameplay trailer (shown below), it's clear that both the graphical and functional benchmarks have been undertaken with impressive diligence for this new Virtua Fighter. While not much is known about this new Virtua Fighter game, the good news is that it will receive more information around the time of the Tokyo Game Show, which is next month. FEATURED | Frase ByForbes™ Unscramble The Anagram To Reveal The Phrase Pinpoint By Linkedin Guess The Category Queens By Linkedin Crown Each Region Crossclimb By Linkedin Unlock A Trivia Ladder To be honest, to have a new mainline Virtua Fighter showcased at the Tokyo Game Show definitely takes me back, and it's nice to see a major game like this given the old-school Tokyo Game Show treatment. Now if only Sega would do something similar for the criminally overlooked Virtual On series. It's also worth mentioning that Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage is readily available on most platforms already, with Switch 2 support to be announced at a later date. So, if you have a hankering to brush up on your Virtua Fighter skills, then that's a very good place to start. Follow me on X, Facebook and YouTube. Park Chan-wook's ‘No Other Choice,' Starring Lee Byung-hun, to Open Busan Film Festival
Arguably, there was no other choice… The Busan International Film Festival has selected the latest wildly anticipated feature from Korean maestro Park Chan-wook to open its landmark 30th edition on Sept. 17. A black-comedy survival thriller starring Korean leading man Lee Byung-hun, Park's 12th feature, No Other Choice, will have its world premiere in competition at the 82nd Venice Film Festival before heading to Korea's biggest cinema event for its Asian debut. No Other Choice stars Lee and beloved Korean actress Son Ye-jin as a married couple struggling to hold their family together amid mounting economic desperation. The film follows Man-su (Lee), a once-content middle-class family man who is abruptly laid off from his job, sending him into a spiral of anxiety and desperation. As he scrambles to regain employment and preserve the life he's built, his wife Miri (Son) becomes equally determined to protect their children and home at any cost. Farrell Boards Cricket Comedy 'Strikers' as Showrunner (Exclusive) The project reunites Park with various longtime collaborators and introduces a fresh pairing in its leads — marking the first time Lee and Son, two of Korea's most celebrated stars, have appeared as a couple onscreen. The supporting cast includes Park Hee-soon, Lee Sung-min, Yeom Hye-ran and Cha Seung-won. No Other Choice is based on Donald E. Westlake's novel The Ax, which was previously adapted to the screen in French by Costa-Gavras. Park first teased the project during a public appearance at BIFF in 2019, describing it as a long-in-the-making passion project he hoped would come to be seen as his 'masterpiece.' The director's many fans are anticipating his signature blend of muscular craftsmanship, elegant mise-en-scène, psychological intensity and moral ambiguity. 'I am deeply moved and excited to experience the premiere of Park Chan-wook's desired project alongside diverse audiences on the festival's opening day,' said BIFF festival director Jung Hanseok in a statement. 'I sincerely hope that its selection will build meaningful momentum to garner greater attention and foster renewed interest in Korean cinema.' The selection of No Other Choice underscores BIFF's efforts to champion the vibrancy and global reach of contemporary Korean filmmaking during its landmark 30th anniversary edition, organizers say. The festival runs Sept. 17–26 in the southern port city of Busan. No Other Choice is Park's first directorial effort since 2022's Decision to Leave, which won him the best director prize at the Cannes Film Festival. Neon has acquired North American distribution rights to the new film. A major awards season push is expected from the hit-making distributor after its breakthrough success with Bong Joon-Ho's Parasite.
