A gondola system in Denver? One man says it's the key to economic revitalization

DENVER (KDVR) — The director of a downtown Denver nonprofit says the key to downtown revitalization could be in the form of a gondola system.
Ryan Ross is the director of New Denver Downtown, Inc. On Sunday, he publicly unveiled his plans for downtown revitalization, entitled 'Downtown Revitalization Project.'
Bill streamlining food truck permits passes Colorado House committee
'The idea is to revitalize all of downtown,' said Ross, speaking from his office that overlooks the 16th Street Mall.
Most notably, the project includes plans for moving sidewalks, an outdoor/indoor amphitheater and a three-loop gondola system.
'We don't need buses on the mall,' he said.
The estimated cost for the project, according to Ross, is a half-billion dollars, which he said could be financed with bonds, federal grants and local partnerships. Ross said the project could take place anywhere in the downtown area.
The 16th Street Mall first opened in 1982.
Ross said he has had one, initial discussion with Denver Mayor Mike Johnston's team.

A spokesperson for Johnston said, in a statement:
'While we have not, yet, reviewed this specific application, Denver is looking forward to exploring all creative and productive applications submitted.'

NVM Express Publishes Set of NVMe Specifications, Enabling New Capabilities for AI, Cloud, Enterprise, and Client Storage

BEAVERTON, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- NVM Express, Inc. today announced important new features and engineering change notices (ECNs) across the set of 11 NVM Express ® (NVMe ®) specifications. These advancements further strengthen NVMe technology to meet the growing demands of data-intensive AI, cloud, enterprise, and client applications. The updated specifications include: NVMe 2.3 Base Specification Command Set Specifications (NVM Command Set 1.2, ZNS Command Set 1.4, Key Value Command Set 1.3, Subsystem Local Memory Command Set 1.2, Computational Programs Command Set 1.2) Transport Specifications (NVMe over PCIe ® Transport 1.3, NVMe over RDMA Transport 1.2, NVMe over TCP Transport 1.2) NVM Express Management Interface (NVMe-MI™) 2.1 Specification NVMe Boot 1.3 Specification 'The newly released NVMe set of specifications introduces features that directly address operational challenges by empowering administrators with increased visibility and control over their storage for business-critical and data center applications,' said Amber Huffman, President of NVM Express. 'NVMe technology is architected for continuous evolution to remain the essential, high-performance interface for the storage of today and tomorrow.' Key New NVMe Features Rapid Path Failure Recovery: Permits communication with the NVM subsystem through alternative channels, allowing for rapid recovery in the event of the loss of communication to a controller to avoid data corruption and duplication of outstanding commands. Power Limit Config: Provides complete control over the maximum power of an NVMe device, particularly important for older systems with limited power capabilities. Self-reported Drive Power: Allows the host to measure and monitor NVMe device power, as well as power consumption over the lifetime of the device, addressing ongoing maintenance and sustainability concerns. Sanitize Per Namespace: Enables cryptographic erase sanitization on individual namespaces, as opposed to broadly impacting the entire NVM subsystem. Configurable Device Personality: Supports mechanisms that allow a host to securely modify the NVM subsystem configuration, easing inventory management for device providers. The NVM Express specifications and the new feature specifications are available for download on the NVM Express website. To learn more about the newly released NVMe features, attend the NVM Express presentation track on August 6 and 7 at FMS: the Future of Memory and Storage 2025, in Santa Clara, CA About NVM Express, Inc. CFEX Secures New Funding to Accelerate the Rollout of Key Energy Transaction Technology

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--CFEX, Inc. announced today that it has secured a new round of investment led by Mobilize Energy Capital, a leading energy technology fund. TSV Capital, an AI-focused venture fund, and Accurant International, CFEX's current investor, also participated. The new funding will be used to accelerate the go-to-market of its automated bilateral contract settlement technology for energy buyers and sellers. We are excited to announce the new investment and appreciate the support from our current and new investors Share 'We are excited to announce the new investment and appreciate the support from our current and new investors,' said Jian Zhang, Founder and CEO of CFEX. 'This investment comes at a time when the industry is gearing up to meet the surging demand for energy, driven by electrification and AI workloads. Having been validated by some of the world's largest energy buyers and sellers through commercial contracts and pilot projects, we are ready to bring the technology to the market.' A great majority of both renewable and non-renewable energy is bought and sold at the wholesale level with complex bilateral contracts. However, almost all of these bilateral transactions are settled manually due to the complexity and variability of the contractual terms. CFEX has developed the industry's first technology to streamline and automate these complex bilateral energy transactions. 'With AI data centers' insatiable demand for energy, PPA contracts are increasingly becoming the tool of choice to build an all-of-the-above energy supply portfolio, in front and behind the meter,' said George Manahilov, Mobilize's Managing Partner. 'As a former energy project developer, we saw firsthand the challenges of operating these contractual relationships and the value of CFEX's technology.' 'Energy fuels the AI revolution,' said Eugene Zhang, Founding Partner at TSV Capital. 'At TSV Capital, we invest across the AI value chain. CFEX provides a critical transaction technology to deliver energy to AI data centers.' At the core of CFEX's automated contract settlement technology is its Contract Rule Engine, which can be used to convert energy contracts into settlement-grade software models, regardless of their complexity and variability. With CFEX's technology, both buyers and sellers can now not only automatically settle transactions with precision and accuracy at the end of the month, but also track who-owes-whom-what, on a daily basis, so that both parties know their financial position. About CFEX, Inc. CFEX automates bilateral transactions between buyers and sellers of renewable and non-renewable energy and streamlines their internal energy management processes. The company's Carbon-Free Energy Cloud application suite automates revenue tracking, billing, settlement, and energy attribute management for sellers (energy producers) and cost tracking, invoice reconciliation, and decarbonization of energy-related emissions for buyers (enterprises and utilities). By automating these otherwise manual processes, CFEX enhances operational efficiency, reduces transaction errors, increases transaction accuracy, improves auditability, and ultimately provides a scalable transaction platform to power the transition to clean energy.
