Chilling video clip shows nightmare neighbours fighting with knives as mum living in fear

Jenna Moffat says she has been given antidepressants and anxiety medication due to the stress of the horror neighbours.
A Scots mum is "living in fear" for her young family's safety due to nightmare neighbours - who she caught on camera brawling and brandishing knives just metres away from her home.
Jenna Moffat, from Dalkeith says she's reported years of violence, drug abuse, and animal neglect in and around her block of flats, but the situation is only getting worse.

The mum-of-one says her repeated pleas for help have fallen on deaf ears, as she claims her landlord, Melville Housing Association, 'won't address the ongoing issues'.

Video captured in the last week showed one man brandishing a knife near to her property whilst trying to enter a flat - with another video showing a physical attack in the stairwell.
Jenna said despite police being called 'numerous times' due to reports of violence involving a tenant at her block of flats, a housing officer advised they 'need to get all their ducks in a row' before action can be taken.
"It feels like we're living in a soap opera, but this is real life," she said.
"I've been in here for four years now and it's been ongoing from the minute I moved in and gradually gotten worse.
"It's horrible because you don't know what you're going to walk out to.

"There are times that we've gone downstairs and there's been people sitting about downstairs taking drugs or people fighting in the stairwell.
"And it's the same thing when we're coming back in.
"This is causing significant fear and alarm to me and my family - I'm now getting antidepressants and anxiety medication due to the stress and everything that's going on.

"I don't really sleep because I'm so anxious - the buzzer goes constantly throughout the day and night and people scream and shout at the door every single day to get in."

The Mayfield resident said local drug users frequent the property which has led to regular antisocial behaviour in the area.

Jenna said neighbours have also shared their worries with her - and say they avoid going downstairs for fear of being attacked.
She said: "The reason I moved to this flat was because I was fleeing domestic violence and what's going on is very, very triggering.

"When I told my housing officer this, they didn't seem to care.
"I've been asking to get moved for the last three years but I'm told they need more evidence before anything can be done.
"I said how much more do you need me to complain about him and give you evidence?

"I've sent videos, pictures, voice notes - but every time something happens, I'm told they don't have enough evidence to remove him from the property.
"But surely he's broken his contract numerous times.
"I really don't know why he's not been removed from the area. I'm just getting nowhere with them.

"They also said I need to put in for an exchange, but I told them no one is going to exchange with me - everybody in Midlothian knows the person and know the sort of thing that goes on."
A Melville Housing Association spokesperson said: "Due to tenant confidentiality, we are unable to comment on individual cases.
"We can confirm that we take all reports of antisocial behaviour and criminal activity seriously and are committed to the safety and wellbeing of our tenants.
"Where incidents are reported to us, we work closely with partners including the police to respond appropriately within the scope of our powers as a landlord."

Young couple stranded in Spain after crooks rob passport and jewellery in £60k car heist

Anna Higginbottom and Peter Lesisz were robbed of around £60,000 as they prepared to return home to Scotland. A young Scots couple have been left stranded and in Spain after ruthless thieves ransacked their car in a devastating £60,000 heist. 'Heartbroken' Anna Higginbottom, 27, and her partner Peter Lesisz, 26, had been due to catch a ferry from Bilbao to Portsmouth on Tuesday as they made their way back to Scotland from the Spanish town of Denia - where Anna had been living and working. ‌ The pair stayed in a hostel in Bilbao on Monday night, reassured by staff that the car park had CCTV and was secure. However, by morning, their vehicle had been broken into via the passenger door and had been completely cleaned out by crooks. ‌ 'We've been left with only our phones and each other,' said a distraught Anna. 'It's a disaster. We have nothing left. We're just completely devastated.' The couple estimate the total loss at around £60,000, with Peter losing around £55,000 worth of rare, specialist car tuning equipment for his Alpine Performance business. This also included pen drives containing a database of custom engine software files built over eight years. 'Peter's worked years to build this business,' said holistic wellness coach Anna. 'That equipment isn't just expensive - it's his entire livelihood. He's one of the best in the UK at what he does. "He has not stopped crying. I've never seen him like this. It's heartbreaking." Anna's losses, valued at around £5,000, included expensive jewellery, clothing, sentimental photos and items from her late mother. ‌ She said: 'That's what hurts most. The sentimental things - they're just gone. They can't be replaced.' To make matters worse, Peter's passport was also stolen, meaning the couple missed their ferry. Peter must now travel a 10-hour round trip to Madrid to get a temporary passport using money borrowed from family. ‌ The couple have even had to rely on the Spanish social services for emergency accommodation and food. Anna continued: 'The police haven't helped us. There's such a language barrier. We've had to do our own investigation. One of my cards was used locally, and we even found the shop. They told us that it was a Moroccan man. ‌ "We're terrified that the longer this goes on, the less chance we have of seeing our stuff again.' The pair have been left so desperate they've even considered searching dangerous neighbourhoods themselves. ‌ She added: 'Locals warned us we could be stabbed or attacked if we went looking in these areas, so we're scared and out of options. "We have done everything we can, but we don't want to put our lives at risk doing our own investigation." ‌ In a final effort to rebuild, the couple have launched a GoFundMe to try and recover some of the staggering loss. In a post online, Anna wrote: 'We never thought we'd be in this position Even £5 would mean the world.' Air India crash pilots may have made 'fatal error' seconds after take off

The aircraft, which had only just set off for Gatwick, suddenly crashed into a medical college after taking off from the city of Ahmedabad on June 12. A pilot error is suspected to be behind last month's horrific Air India fireball crash which killed 260 people, investigators claim. The aircraft, which had only just set off for Gatwick, suddenly crashed into a medical college after taking off from the city of Ahmedabad on June 12. ‌ Now inspectors have analysed the Boeing 787 Dreamliner's Black Box with officials saying the recorder indicates a "possibility" that the pilots could have made a mistake while operating the passenger jet. ‌ As the Mirror reports, early assessments have indicated there was no apparent fault with the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, which went down shortly after takeoff. A preliminary report into the disaster points to switches to the engines' fuel supplies being turned off seconds after it left the runway. This, it has been claimed by sources close to the investigation, could have triggered a loss of thrust, resulting in the plane ploughing into the building. Captain Sumeet Sabharwal was the lead pilot on the journey, with Clive Kunder acting as his co-pilot. The findings of the probe, which is run by the the US National Transportation Safety Board, Federal Aviation Administration, Boeing and GE Aerospace, are starting to be made public. An investigation was immediately launched after the tragedy - and the Indian government revealed investigators were looking into sabotage as a possible cause. Murlidhar Mohol, the country's Minister of State for Civil Aviation, said two week ago: "The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) has begun a full probe. It is being assessed from all angles, including any possible sabotage." ‌ Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! Indian investigators recovered the black boxes from the wreckage site a couple of days after the crash. These boxes - which are typically orange, not black - are considered the most important pieces of forensic evidence following a plane crash. There are typically two sturdy devices, the cockpit voice recorder and the flight data recorder. ‌ The black boxes were flown from Ahmedabad to the national capital, New Delhi, in an Indian Air Force aircraft amid tight security early this week. The investigation could take weeks or months. Investigators were left stunned after one passenger was named as the sole survivor of the crash. British national Vishwash Kumar Ramesh miraculously made it out alive, while 241 people onboard and 29 people on the ground were declared dead. A committee is expected to file an official preliminary report within three months. Following the crash, Indian authorities ordered deeper checks of Air India's entire fleet of Boeing 787 Dreamliner to prevent future incidents. The airline ha s 33 Dreamliners in its fleet.
