Matty Healy mocks ex Taylor Swift during The 1975's Glastonbury set

Matty Healy dated Taylor Swift for only a matter of weeks, on the heels of her split from Joe Alwyn. Photos: TNS, Taylor Swift/Instagram Matty Healy seemingly mocked his ex Taylor Swift during The 1975's set at the Glastonbury Festival on Friday. While delivering some of his signature banter from the stage, the crooner sarcastically dubbed himself a 'poet' in an apparent nod to the pop star's Tortured Poets Department album, much of which Healy is believed to have inspired. 'I want to be sincere for a second. What this moment is making me realise is that I probably am the best,' the frontman said with a smirk, according to footage published by Variety . 'I'm probably the best songwriter of my generation, the best… what do we say, poet, ladies and gentleman, is what I am. Generational wordsmith.' His acerbic comments came just before the band launched into a performance of their 2013 song Chocolate , which may have been a deliberate choice given a particular verse on Swift's album. 'You smoked, then ate seven bars of chocolate,' the Grammy winner sings on the title track. But Healy's remarks weren't the only thing making Swifties raise their eyebrows. Fans also noted his jacket featured a pin of Peter Pan — a character he's previously used to describe himself and one that Swift references on her song Peter . Fans have concluded that multiple songs on Swift's 11th studio album allude to her brief courtship with Healy in the spring of 2023 and their years-long friendship before that. Along with the titular Tortured Poets Department, those tracks include But Daddy I Love Him, Guilty as Sin?, I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can), and the scathing song The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived , which paints a portrait of a man whose actions didn't 'measure up' to the persona he initially presented. In October, Healy seemingly took another dig at Swift's lyrics when discussing where he finds inspiration for his own music. 'I would kind of just be lying if I made a record about, I don't know, all the stuff that was said about me or my casual romantic liaisons or whatever it may be that I've become known for,' Healy said on an episode of the Doomscroll podcast. 'I think that a lot of artistes become very interested in their lore … I think that's an obvious thing to draw from. I'm just not interested in it.' Healy, who's currently engaged to model-singer Gabbriette, dated Swift for only a matter of weeks, on the heels of her split from Joe Alwyn and just before she started dating Travis Kelce in July 2023. However, The Tortured Poets Department and its many references that have been linked to Healy have prompted speculation about the depth of the artistes' relationship and just how far back the romantic undertones go. – New York Daily News/Tribune News Service

Lea Salonga to receive her Walk of Fame star in Hollywood

MANILA: Tony Award-winning Filipino singer and actress Lea Salonga (pic) is set to be immortalised with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, as she was officially announced as one of the 2025-2026 honourees. The announcement was made by the Manila International Film Festival (MIFF), which had the honour of nominating Salonga under the Live Theatre/Performance category. 'We're incredibly proud to share that the Manila International Film Festival had the honour of nominating the one and only Lea Salonga for a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame—and she's officially been selected!' wrote the organisation on social media on Thursday (July 3). Salonga celebrated the news by sharing a screenshot of a news item about the 2025-2026 recipients of the Walk of Fame star, encircling her name. 'Just now woke up to this bit of amazing news!!! To the Manila International Filmfest, many thanks for nominating me to be part of the class of 2025-26!' she wrote. Salonga is the fourth Filipino and the first Filipina to be honoured on the Hollywood Walk of Fame after half-Filipino comedian Rob Schneider and singer Bruno Mars received theirs, and is set to receive his alongside his Black Eyed Peas bandmates. Best known for her groundbreaking role as Kim in 'Miss Saigon,' for which she won a Tony, Olivier and other major theatre awards, Salonga has built an acclaimed career spanning theatre, film, music and voice acting. The 54-year-old is also the singing voice of two beloved Disney princesses, Jasmine in 'Aladdin' and Mulan in 'Mulan,' which earned her the title of Disney Legend in 2011. Salonga's Broadway and West End credits include 'Les Misérables,' 'Flower Drum Song,' 'Allegiance,' 'Once on This Island' and, most recently, Stephen Sondheim's 'Old Friends.' Given her noteworthy contributions to music and the performing arts, the actress-singer has also received honours from the Philippine government, including the Presidential Medal of Merit and the Order of Lakandula. Joining Salonga in the 2025-2026 Walk of Fame class are other big names across various categories, including Emily Blunt, Rachel McAdams, Miley Cyrus, Air Supply, Timothée Chalamet and Marion Cotillard, among others. - Philippine Daily Inquirer/ANN
