MG Cyberster price to be revealed on July 25
Inside the cabin, the Cyberster showcases a flat-bottom steering wheel bearing the signature octagonal MG logo, positioned in front of a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. Flanking it are two additional 7-inch displays on either side. The centre console, designed in a waterfall layout, houses a vertically mounted 7-inch touchscreen next to the gear selector. Just below this are the soft-top convertible roof controls.The vehicle uses touch-sensitive controls for its HVAC system, replacing conventional physical switches. Among the notable features are adaptive cruise control, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, and a 360-degree camera system. The Cyberster is also equipped with an extensive suite of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) including blind-spot detection, lane-keeping assist, rear cross-traffic alert, and forward collision warning.On the outside, the Cyberster draws inspiration from the classic MG B Roadster, featuring the octagonal MG emblem, a long sculpted bonnet, and a sealed front end with an upward-curving air dam that gives the car a distinctive 'smiling' appearance. It holds the distinction of being India's first electric vehicle with scissor doors.The sporty two-seater rides on 20-inch alloy wheels as standard. At the rear, it features arrow-shaped LED tail-lamps on either side, linked by a horizontal LED light bar, while the lower section sports a bold black split diffuser for a more aggressive look. The visit came in response to severe waterlogging and traffic chaos during the first spell of monsoon, which had triggered public complaints. Sapkal criticism Following the video going viral, the Congress accused the Mahayuti government of failing to maintain Maharashtra's industrial dominance, citing crumbling infrastructure, corruption and lawlessness. 'The IT industry that once flourished in Hinjewadi during Congress rule is now migrating to Bengaluru and Hyderabad. Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar himself has admitted this,' said Harshvardhan Sapkal, president of the Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee. Mr. Sapkal questioned Mr. Pawar's dual role as Pune's Guardian Minister and Deputy Chief Minister. 'Was Ajit Pawar asleep while Pune declined? He must take responsibility and resign,' he demanded. Launching a sharp critique of the BJP-led alliance government, he said, 'Basic infrastructure is collapsing, and entrepreneurs are losing faith. As a result, not just existing businesses but even future investments are moving away – largely to Gujarat.' The Maharashtra Congress chief cited the ₹1.6-lakh-crore Vedanta-Foxconn project, which was lost to Gujarat, as an example of 'BJP's administrative failure'. 'If even the Deputy CM acknowledges the flight of industries, the government owes the public a clear explanation,' he said. Hinjewadi's decline In May 2024, the Hinjewadi Industries Association (HIA) had claimed that 37 IT companies moved out from the infotech park over the previous 10 years due to the deteriorating infrastructure and traffic congestion in the locality. A month later, NCP (SP) leader Supriya Sule said she would hold meetings with the infotech park companies and convince them to stay back. 'The kind of IT park expansion we see elsewhere, like Bengaluru, has not happened here. We are potentially losing business – companies are reluctant to send their employees to Hinjewadi despite the government's efforts. It will take time to regain their confidence,' said Pawanjit Mane, Maharashtra State president of the Forum for IT Employees (FITE).

Goa stands to benefit from India-UK free trade agreement: GCCI
Panaji: The India-UK free trade agreement (FTA) will significantly benefit Goa's pharmaceutical companies, tourism sector, and feni producers, said the Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) on Saturday. GCCI president Pratima Dhond said that the recent signing of the trade agreement between the two nations could provide a much-needed boost to Goa's economy. The FTA provides zero-duty access to the UK market for nearly 99% of Indian exports, including pharmaceuticals. While the UK imports nearly $30 billion worth of medicines and medical devices, India's pharma exports to the UK currently stand at under $1 billion. The bilateral agreement is anticipated to unlock major export opportunities for the sector. Goa is ranked sixth in pharmaceutical exports, with an overall share of 5.6%. 'This landmark agreement is expected to significantly enhance trade and investment opportunities between India and the UK, with far-reaching benefits for the state,' she said. The FTA could lead to increased travel and tourism opportunities between India and the UK, and this will benefit Goa's tourism industry. Dhond said that Goa's feni industry will gain recognition in the British market with geographical indication protection, opening up new export opportunities. 'This will be a major boost for govt, which is promoting exports of Indian alcoholic beverages to global markets,' she said. Meanwhile, duty-free exports of marine products to the UK, textile businesses, and IT services also stand to benefit from the trade agreement, boosting the state's economy over the long term, said GCCI. The UK imports around $5.4 billion worth of marine products such as prawns, tuna, mackerel, sardines, squid, crab, and pomfret. India's current share in the UK's marine imports is just 2.3%, but this share is projected to double after the FTA. All coastal states stand to benefit from export-led job creation. 'Indian professionals, including those from Goa, will have easier access to the UK market, with relaxed visa procedures and exemptions from UK social security contributions,' said Dhond.

Indian mining seminar highlights responsible practices
Nagpur: The two-day seminar on "Indian Mining: Present Scenario and Future Perspective," organised by the Mining Engineers Association of India (MEAI), ended on Saturday with experts emphasising on responsible mining and understanding the changing landscape of the sector. Chairman-cum-managing director (CMD) of Manganese Ore India Limited (MOIL), Ajik Kumar Saxena, who was the chief guest, spoke on the timely analysis of mining leftovers for identifying the possibility of finding critical minerals from mine waste, tailings, or slags. The CMD of Mineral Exploration and Consultancy Limited (MECL), also a Nagpur-based public sector undertaking, Indra Dev Narayan was the guest of honour. He said PSUs like MECL play a crucial role in shaping the future of the country's mining sector. "We have been instrumental in discovering reserves of nearly all major minerals across the country. In recent years, MECL has expanded its role beyond traditional drilling to advanced exploration technologies, data analytics, and remote sensing.
