I live off-grid on an island close to the North Pole where polar bears break into cabins and EVERYONE is required to carry a gun
Cecilia Blomdahl, @sejsejlija, shares her Arctic lifestyle on Svalbard to her 2.9million TikTok followers.
She sometimes stays in an off-grid cabin and in one video, detailed the dangers she has to deal with when there.
The content creator revealed polar bears sometimes try to break in to similar set ups, and explained how she protects herself.
'The last time a polar bear broke into this cabin was 20 years ago,' she explained.
Cecilia's cabin is in a remote location, some distance from another town and is not easily accessible.
'It's fully off grid so it has no electricity, no modern amenities and it's located far away from town,' she said.
'The only way to get here in winter is by snowmobile and in summer by boat.'
However, the secluded area means there's other wildlife around, including polar bears.
'It is not uncommon for polar bears to break into off grid cabins and we actually just recently had a polar bear very close to town so that is something you always have to think about when you're here on Svalbard in general,' Cecilia revealed.
She has to take precautions when leaving the cabin, just in case there's a potential danger nearby.
'Whenever you go outside you need to look around the corners before stepping out to kind of see your surroundings,' Cecilia explained.
She shared how her dog is also helpful in noticing other animals from far away.
'Grim is fine being outdoors because he can actually tell us if anything is coming close to the cabin way before we can see it,' she said.
Cecilia also carries a firearm with her whenever she is away from the village as another form of protection against polar bears.
She explained how it is necessary, especially when in the remote cabin.
Cecilia said: 'Here on Svalbard, everyone is required to bring a firearm as polar bear protection whenever they are outside of the village so that is very important to have with you when you're on a cabin trip like this.
However, she was careful to emphasise it would only be use in particularly dangerous scenarios.
'But the firearm is only for life-threatening situations,' she added.

Holidaymakers 'baffled' as they accidentally rent ENTIRE wedding venue in beautiful destination for JUST £300
A pair of Australian holidaymakers found themselves in an extraordinary situation after checking into a lavish wedding venue instead of a hotel during a trip to Italy. Matt Hey, a content creator from Sydney known on TikTok as @ shared the mishap with his followers in a viral video that has since amassed over 8 million views. He and his partner had just arrived in Sorrento after touring through London, Rome, and Pisa when they moved on to what they believed was a high-end hotel. The video, which follows the couple's surreal check-in experience at Villa Antiche Mura Relais, is accompanied by a caption that reads: 'We accidentally booked an entire wedding venue thinking it was a regular hotel.' In the clip, Matt narrates their arrival through a long stone path lined with manicured gardens, trees and colourful flowers. He noted the 'nice and peaceful' atmosphere of the grounds, though he admitted he'd thought: 'I'm baffled. This is a bit weird. I've not seen anyone yet.' Things got stranger when they reached what Matt initially thought was a reception building, only to find a villa resembling someone's private home. After walking around the property, they were met with a cliffside terrace featuring white lanterns, linen-draped tables, and what appeared to be a wedding setup. As they continued exploring, they discovered an outdoor dance floor complete with a bar, white tables and ivory drapes across the ceiling. Not completely convinced at the time, Matt recalled: 'I'm all spaced out. I'm like, maybe this is a common area and there must be little villas.' He explained that their only check-in interaction involved a staff member taking a photo of their passports and handing over a single key - no front desk and no other guests. Inside, the villa was decked out with more formal tables, and after the staff casually asked the couple which one they'd like to use, that's when it clicked that it was a wedding venue. Matt hilariously concluded: 'We could have done something with this - but darling, I could have done with the Mercure! I didn't need all this!' In a caption below the video, Matt admitted: 'Trust us to not read the description properly. we thought we were checking into a hotel or resort.. turns out it's a private wedding venue and there's no one else in sight!' The video drew some skepticism online, with some viewers accusing Matt of staging the clip to promote the venue, though he dismissed the claims in a follow-up clip, insisting the mistake was genuine. He reiterated that he and his partner spent AU$600 (around £290) per night through Expedia for a two-night stay in a Classic Balcony Room at the venue, treating themselves after travelling 'relatively frugally' earlier in their European adventure. Matt reiterated that he and his partner spent $600 AUD (around £260) per night through Expedia for a two-night stay in a Classic Balcony Room at the venue While the setting was evidently stunning, Matt noted there were no staff for the bar, no room service, and no easy access to restaurants or shops. He also mentioned that he and his partner may have been able to book the venue as he claimed it's 'bad luck' in Italy to wed on Tuesdays, which is the day the couple had checked in. On Villa Antiche Mura Relais' website, a description reads: 'The Villa offers different romantic settings for your Sorrento wedding reception and special event. 'Completely equipped for all the celebrations, we will personalize everything you desire with care and attention to details. Always at your disposal for all your requests. We are sure to make your special day memorable!' 4,000 viewers were left both amused and bewildered as they shared their thoughts in the comments The Daily Mail has reached out to Villa Antiche Mura Relais for further comment. Meanwhile, 4,000 viewers were left both amused and bewildered as they shared their thoughts in the comments, as one wrote: 'I'd be checking my email to make sure I booked it for $600 and not $6,000 or $60,000.' Another commented: 'Someone who wanted the venue for the same date is watching this like...'

Molly-Mae Hague shares latest holiday snap after complaining over summer plans
Love Island's Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury are enjoying a sumemr holiday to Turkey with their daughter Bambi and fans have been kept updated in posts this weekend Former Love Island finalists Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury are enjoying a trip abroad with their daughter Bambi. They have shared updates from their latest holiday after Molly-Mae expressed concern over her summer plans. Molly-Mae, 26, and Tommy, also 26, flew out to Turkey with toddler Bambi, two, recently. The couple have since posted about staying at the coastal resort Regnum The Crown on the vacation, with them giving their fans an insight into the trip in content shared on social media this weekend. They have been seen enjoying each other's company at the location and taking Bambi to a waterpark on the holiday. It comes after Helen Skelton and Gethin Jones split as he joins a notorious dating app on a lads' holiday. READ MORE: Meghan Markle and Prince Harry set for new 'goldmine' offer - but could face issue This afternoon, Molly-Mae shared a photo of Bambi sat with Tommy, who had his eyes closed, on a plane. She teased in the caption that was included on the post on her Instagram Story earlier today: "Sleep about to abruptly end." Tommy also shared a photo from the flight that showed Bambi on Molly-Mae's lap. He wrote: "Quality time incoming." Then over a photo of him and Bambi at an airport, he said: "Excited to be somewhere I haven't visited before." He's since shared updates from their hotel resort, including teasing that he was "staying on plan" when it came to meals. Tommy also uploaded a photo of himself in a gym, with the boxer seen smiling whilst posing for a selfie in a mirror. Following their arrival at the destination, Molly-Mae shared a photo of Tommy and Bambi cuddled up in bed together. She later shared a photo of them lying together on a sun lounger at a water park and told fans: "My favourite view." Molly-Mae also shared a photo of herself and Bambi at Aqualantis, with them seen on a slide together. Tommy later uploaded footage of the pair on a different slide, with them seen splashing into the water together in his video. The updates from the family's holiday comes after Molly-Mae was seen in tears in a recent vlog following a backlash. She addressed the suggestion that she's "out of touch" after complaining about struggling with parenting lately, including saying she was found a recent motorhome holiday challenging. She told fans in the video: "I feel like I need to keep my camera running all day so you guys like actually just see ... it's like every single thing is a huge problem. Like [Bambi is] screams and can't even get like socks and shoes on." Addressing potential critics of her vlogs, Molly-Mae added: "I don't care who tells me I'm out of touch with reality or like all this stuff that's going on on TikTok at the minute." She said: "I don't care like I'm not gonna not talk about it." The update came after she was met with criticism after complaining that she hadn't done anything "fun" over the summer. She said in a vlog uploaded last month: "I said to someone the other day, right, that I am gonna make it to the end of summer [having] not done one fun thing." She added: "I haven't socialised once. [...] I haven't done one social, fun thing. I haven't a life. I haven't a life. Oh, it's not good is it? Like I am literally ... summer will end and I won't have done one fun social thing." She gave an example as going out with a friend and their children for the day. Some people however pointed out that in recent weeks Molly had been to Wimbledon and on the motorhome holiday to the Isle of Man, for example.
