Here's the Clip When Dean Cain's Superman Gets Busted for Being Illegal Alien
An immigrant? Not on Cain's watch. 'How woke is Hollywood going to make this character?' Cain wondered aloud to TMZ. While America has traditionally welcomed immigrants, 'there have to be limits, because we can't have everybody in the United States. We can't have everybody, society will fail.'
'I think that was a mistake by James Gunn to say it's an immigrant thing, and I think it's going to hurt the numbers on the movie,' Cain continued. 'I'm rooting for it to be a success, but I don't like that last political comment.'
There were only three little problems with Cain's diatribe.
1 Cain Hadn't Seen the Movie
'Changing beloved characters I don't think is a great idea,' Cain griped. 'If you want to create a new character, go ahead and do that.' How much did Gunn change Superman? Cain would have a hard time saying, considering he spouted off before actually watching the movie.
2 Superman Was Boffo at the Box Office
Cain warned that Gunn's comments about the Superman character would 'hurt the numbers.' Oops. Superman flew past Warner Bros.' estimates and took in $217 million in its opening weekend, the biggest start ever for the franchise. The opening was especially impressive during a time of superhero fatigue, with other DC and Marvel movies failing to live up to expectations.
'I'm incredibly grateful for your enthusiasm and kind words over the past few days,' Gunn said while watching the cash pour in.
3 Cain's Superman Was Just As Woke
The biggest laugh about Cain's dismay over Superman's immigrant status? That's this clip from Lois and Clark, with Cain's hero being accosted by a number of government officials.
An agent from the IRS wants Superman's Social Security number. 'I don't have one,' Cain as Superman responded. That must be why the agency can't find his tax returns. Superman is a tax dodger!
Then, a woman from Immigration and Naturalization gets in his grill, demanding to see his green card. Again, Superman doesn't have one.
'You are an alien, are you not?'
That's just what Cain's Woke Superman is — and without a green card, he's an illegal alien at that.

Popcorn bots and ‘Electric Sauce': What to know about Elon Musk's Tesla Diner
Elon Musk's long-awaited diner and drive-in opened Monday in Hollywood, California. And, even though the venue didn't open until 4:20 pm, customers were lined up early to get in. The Tesla Diner & Drive-In is many things in one. The venue includes a diner, a drive-in movie theatre, as well as a charging station. It also manages to be both futuristic and retro, and it is definitely over the top. In addition to charging Teslas, customers can enjoy hamburgers, milkshakes, and other classic diner food which comes in Cybertruck-like boxes. Two 45-foot LED movie screens, which sync with Tesla speakers, hope to attract movie-goers to the scene. In typical Musk-fashion, the venue looks a bit like a spaceship — perhaps a hint that the experience aims to be out of this world. There is, of course, tons of Tesla-branded merchandise on site, as well as an Optimus robot. On Monday, a Cybertruck wrapped with DOGE vehicle wrap was spotted parked at a charging station. Just before the opening, Musk was already projecting the project to be a huge success. 'If our retro-futuristic diner turns out well, which I think it will, @Tesla will establish these in major cities around the world, as well as at Supercharger sites on long distance routes,' the CEO posted on X. Burgers are hot, but Tesla sales—and Musk's image—are cooling While the lines of excited customers seemed to imply excitement over the opening, it's tough to miss that it comes amid a fair amount of public scrutiny of the Tesla CEO. Musk's work with DOGE, an organization that facilitated mass layoffs and gutted funding for vital organizations like Medicare and Medicaid, the National Institute of Health, national parks, and more, has made him an even more polarizing figure than he already was. Subscribe to the Daily newsletter. Fast Company's trending stories delivered to you every day Privacy Policy | Fast Company Newsletters More recently, Musk fell out of favor with President Trump, resulting in the head of DOGE being ousted from his government role. A feud played out publicly, with the two men posting pointed attacks on social media. Musk blasted Trump's 'big, beautiful bill,' and just weeks ago, Trump said he was even mulling potentially deporting the Tesla CEO. And, while Elon Musk himself has been the subject of tons of scrutiny over his work in DOGE, the role may have impacted the Tesla brand, too. Tesla sales have slumped this year, too. From April to June, sales fell to 384,122 — a more than 13% drop from 443,956 in the same period last year. Musk has acknowledged that sales have slumped but brushed off bigger worries that the brand is doomed. 'The stock wouldn't be trading near all-time highs if things weren't in good shape,' he said while speaking at the Qatar Economic Forum in May. Still, given the Hollywood location, the showiness of the venue, and the multi-purposed nature of the facility, consumers may just put aside their distaste for the CEO long enough to enjoy it. Burgers, fries, and movies are not hard sells, after all. The lines outside of Musk's new venue certainly show that people are excited. Still, it's hard to say whether the enthusiasm will hold. In April, Wedbush Securities analyst Dan Ives slashed Tesla projections and noted at the time that Musk's government work had done irreversible damage to his brand, adding that Teslas are not just a car, but have 'become a political symbol globally.'

‘Marvel Rivals' Will Let You Recreate the ‘Fantastic Four: First Steps' Dive Bomb
Ask anyone what the Thing's catchphrase is, and, almost certainly, everyone will simultaneously say, 'It's clobbering time!' That's just been a fact of the character for years. And, in the new movie Fantastic Four: First Steps, it's also the case, but with a little twist. A twist that's coming to the video game Marvel Rivals in a kind of unprecedented synergy of gameplay and movie promotion. As seen in a recent trailer for First Steps, 'It's clobbering time!' is the in-universe catchphrase of the Thing's cartoon character, but not the actual character played by Ebon Moss-Bachrach. In fact, he doesn't like to say it at all, so his friends, especially Johnny Storm (Joseph Quinn), joke with him about it all the time. That interaction from the movie has now been almost directly ported into the game, as seen in this new footage, as part of a new team-up ability between Human Torch and the Thing. Things are heating up! Introducing a brand-new Team-Up Ability: Human Torch & The Thing! Lift, slam, and disable with "First Steps" – launching July 24 UTC! Buckle up, hot shot. Time to take flight… and land with impact. 💥 — Marvel Rivals (@MarvelRivals) July 22, 2025 In Rivals, special 'team up' abilities unlock between certain characters when you have those characters on your roster. They're usually added to the game at the start or midway points of its competitive seasons, tweaking the balance of the current roster of heroes and encouraging new combos on your teams. For example, recently with the launch of season three, Jean Grey and Wolverine unlocked a particularly powerful team-up that turned Logan's regular leap attack into a flaming, life-draining character-shredder so overtuned it had to get hit with the nerf bat. But the new Torch/Thing team-up, literally called 'First Steps,' in addition to being a big offensive move—letting Johnny carry Ben through the air before he dives down for a disabling area-of-effect slam—isn't just a bonus to your game. It's basically a promo for the movie. It's the first time Rivals has done something like this to tie into a big new movie rather than just adding new cosmetics, a nifty wink to anyone who has seen the movie or for gamers who'll see the movie later. Maybe it's even a connection that could drive people from one medium to the other. Having seen the movie, I won't spoil whether or not Ben Grimm does eventually say 'It's clobberin' time!' as Johnny begs him to mid-dive bomb. But in Rivals, of course, the Thing says it all the time, whenever he announces his powerful ultimate move. It's not the only First Steps promo going on in Rivals this week, which will also see movie costume skins for all four members of the Fantastic Four added later this week, which you can read more about here. So, if you want to take that Fantastic Four experience to the next level, grab Marvel Rivals for your PC or console and check out the movie in theaters Friday. We liked it quite a bit.
