Mint17-07-2025
Sukritya Khatiwada, a third-generation Vedic scholar and entrepreneur is leading Nepa's expansion. He has focused on making Rudraksha accessible to a wider audience while retaining its sacred context. His book Transform Your Life with Rudraksha and international speaking engagements have helped establish Nepa as a notable entity in spiritual wellness.
Speaking about the collaboration with Ajay Devgn, Sukritya says,
'This is not a celebrity endorsement—it's a spiritual alignment. Ajay Devgn brings authenticity to the message we're trying to deliver. He's a devotee of Shiva, and that devotion reflects in how he connects with Rudraksha.'
Nepa Rudraksha which has roots in Vedic tradition since 1973, is embarking on a new phase with actor Ajay Devgn's involvement.
This collaboration is presented as a meaningful partnership built on shared values, trust, and a personal connection upholding the commitment to authenticity and service established by the company's founder, Mr. Balaram Khatiwada, a priest at the revered Pashupatinath Temple, and the current Chairman, Mr. Mukunda Khatiwada..
Ajay Devgn, known for his compelling screen presence, is also a devoted follower of Lord Shiva. His spiritual inclination is described as private and grounded. With a Shiva tattoo and a personal reverence for Rudraksha, Devgn resonates with Nepa's focus on authenticity, inner strength, and conviction.
A brand spokesperson indicated that Devgn's association reflects the brand's identity, with his devotion aligning with the values Nepa has maintained for over five decades.
Nepa Rudraksha has always aimed to prioritise sincerity. The brand's initial goal was to provide authentic Rudraksha beads globally. They currently serve customers in over 100 countries, aiming to make spiritual tools accessible, traceable, and meaningful.
Each Rudraksha bead from Nepa is sourced from the Arun Valley in Nepal and is certified through X-ray testing and quality standards like IRL and ISO 9001:2005. The brand's AAA Standard is presented as a guarantee of purity, giving spiritual seekers confidence in what they're receiving.
The partnership with Ajay Devgn is supported by a short film that depicts a seeker's inner journey. The Siddha Mala, Rudra bracelet, and the Dhanveer Bracelet featured in the film are presented as elements of spiritual practice.
How This Campaign Stands Apart
This campaign is described as taking a different approach from typical marketing efforts. It is rooted in what is called Sanatana, an inner conviction.
While Rudraksha remains Nepa's primary offering, the brand has expanded its range to include malas customised to individual needs, bracelets designed for daily wear, and spiritual tools like yantras and puja kits. These offerings are supported by educational resources, including books authored by Sukritya Khatiwada, Nepa's CEO and a third-generation Vedic Expert.
Nepa has also introduced a members-only Sadhana app, a digital digital platform for practitioners to deepen their spiritual practice. This is intended to provide long-term spiritual support beyond products.
This collaboration is viewed as reaffirming Nepa's belief that spirituality can be both timeless and personal when approached thoughtfully.
With Ajay Devgn's involvement, Nepa Rudraksha aims to invite individuals to explore the meaning of a sacred bead as a companion on a spiritual path.

Govt to enable UPI payment in all ration shops within a year

Chennai: Tamil Nadu govt will introduce unified payments interface (UPI) transactions in all 37,328 fair price shops across the state within the next year. As many as 10,661 shops under the public distribution system (PDS) across 37 districts already support cashless payments. Officials from the co-operation, food and consumer protection department said the move is part of modernisation measures, which include ISO quality certifications and renovation of all shops. ELCOT will facilitate the procurement of scanners and POS devices, which will support both card and QR code payments. Each set will cost about 20,000, including the billing machine. Officials said this has already helped streamline payment tracking, monitor purchase timings, and prevent revenue leakage at the staff level. "We received complaints that Amma Canteens were receiving PDS ration in bulk in the city. With QR or digital payments, such pilferage will also reduce," said an official from the department. The state operates one of the country's largest PDS networks, distributing rice, wheat, sugar, tur dal, palm oil, palm jaggery, and millets to 2.25 crore ration cardholders. Of these outlets, 35,181 are run by the cooperative department, 1,527 by the Tamil Nadu civil supplies corporation (TNCSC), 152 by other cooperatives, and 468 by women's self-help groups. Digital payments are one of the criteria for receiving ISO certification. So far, 10,149 fair price shops have obtained ISO 9001 certification for quality, and 2,059 have received ISO 28000 certification for storage safety.

Aupulent Debuts India's First Astro Lab-Grown Diamond Line

Aupulent, a leader in sustainable fine jewellery, has launched Astro by Aupulent—India's first lab-grown diamond collection crafted specifically for astrological and spiritual purposes. This groundbreaking range blends Vedic astrology with modern innovation, offering spiritually aligned jewellery made using ethically created diamonds. Diamonds have traditionally played a vital role in Vedic astrology, especially for those influenced by Venus (Shukra). However, access to high-quality mined diamonds has remained limited, expensive, and environmentally taxing. Aupulent is redefining that tradition by using CVD-grown diamonds that are physically, chemically, and energetically identical to mined ones. 'We want to challenge the notion that only mined diamonds have spiritual power. Lab-grown diamonds carry the same energy, and they're the future of ethical luxury,' said Surya Jain, Founder & CEO of Aupulent. A fifth-generation jeweller and wellness advocate, Jain calls Astro a personal mission to bring gemstone spirituality into the future. Astrology's New-Age Appeal With astrology witnessing a cultural resurgence, especially among Gen Z and millennials, the collection taps into a generation that seeks meaning, balance, and intentional living. A NumroVani study in 2024 found that 51% of Indians aged 18–35 refer to astrology daily, with 88% reading horoscopes weekly. The Power of the Diamond in Vedic Astrology In Vedic tradition, diamonds are associated with Venus, ruling over love, creativity, beauty, and luxury. Individuals with Taurus or Libra ascendants, or a strong Venus in their chart, are particularly recommended to wear diamonds for emotional harmony, charm, relationship healing, and financial success. Designed for Energy & Everyday Wear Each ring in the Astro collection is engineered to ensure that the diamond touches the skin, in line with Vedic principles. Crafted for both aesthetics and energy transfer, the collection combines comfort, durability, and spiritual resonance. It is available in gold or platinum with exact planetary weights and certified purity. Backed by Science, Guided by Spirit Each diamond is grown using CVD technology, tested for energetic alignment, third-party lab certified, and available with optional astrology consultations to ensure personal relevance and impact. 'Jewellery is no longer just adornment—it's about meaning,' Jain added. 'With Astro, we are offering jewellery that empowers from within while reflecting personal style and spiritual purpose.' With this launch, Aupulent becomes the first Indian brand to formally integrate lab-grown diamonds into astrological jewellery, pioneering a path where sustainability, science, and spirituality coexist.
