North Carolina A&T has made a historic hire that looks to further grow the trajectory of their golf program. The institution announced Tuesday the hiring of Mesha Levister as the new director of both the men's and women's golf programs. With the hire, Levister becomes the first female head coach of a men's varsity sport at A&T and the first woman to lead the women's golf program.

'I am excited to, first off, be coming back to my great home state,' Levister said in a statement. 'That's always the first thing in mind, to be close to family and close to friends and in a great place – the Triad area. The Triad area is a great place for golf, too, so in all honesty, I'm honored and incredibly excited to join North Carolina A&T.'
North Carolina A&T Director of Athletics Earl M. Hilton III also commented on her hire, saying, 'Mesha Levister has established herself as a pioneer throughout her life and certainly in the world of golf. We look forward to having her join our team in Aggie Athletics. She knows golf, the area, and is passionate about academic and athletic accomplishments.'
Levister's resume boasts a remarkable legacy in the golfing world. From starting her career at North Carolina Central as the lone female on the men's golf team and later serving as a coach, to earning the 2004 Virginia Women's Amateur title as the first African American to achieve the feat, Levister has consistently broken boundaries. After turning professional in 2006, she spent three seasons on the LPGA Futures Tour (now the Epson Tour), competing globally and securing multiple top-10 finishes.
She transitioned to coaching with notable success. During a three-year stint at Prairie View A&M University (2022-2025), Levister earned SWAC Women's Golf Coach of the Year honors in 2023 and led her teams to significant academic and athletic achievements. Her tenure there saw nine players receive All-SWAC honors while maintaining a high standard in academics, with the men's team consistently achieving a GPA of 3.1 or higher.

In the latest mock draft from Brett Siegel of Clutch Points, he has them selecting Thomas Sorber with the pick, but also mentioned the Timberwolves possibly receiving trade calls. 'If there is one player who could end up being the biggest surprise regarding where he goes in the 2025 NBA Draft, it's Sorber. Minnesota may take this opportunity to move down and add future draft picks should Sorber, or another player they would want, are off the board.' It wouldn't be a surprise if the Timberwolves did make a move to trade down and grab more assets, especially if the player they want is already off the board. At the same time, they could still decide to keep the pick and take the best player available. What will the Timberwolves do this offseason? After a second straight trip to the Western Conference Finals, the Timberwolves are looking to get over the hump and advance to the NBA Finals. One of their goals is to sign Julius Randle to an extension, who was a big part of their success last season and was a good No. 2 option alongside Anthony Edwards. With that extension looming, that may cast doubt on Nickeil Walker-Alexander's future with the team, as he's set for an extension as well. Advertisement The Timberwolves were also trying to get into the Kevin Durant sweepstakes, and rumors were that they were close to getting a deal done, according to ESPN's Brian Windhorst. 'Last week, the Timberwolves were on the verge of trading for him,' Windhorst said on First Take. 'Ant Edwards could've tried to talk him into it, but did not… said, 'this is not my place, KD, you do what you do.'' It will be interesting to see what the Timberwolves will do in the draft and in free agency, as they may not have many options to work with. He recently reflected on what many fans consider to be his most egregious indiscretion. While appearing on 'The Pivot Podcast,' which is hosted by former NFL players Ryan Clark, Channing Crowder and Fred Taylor, Green once again opened up about his 2022 physical altercation with former teammate Jordan Poole. The four-time champion punched the young guard in the face during a Warriors preseason practice, an infamous incident that hung over the then-defending champions all season long. Green offered an interesting perspective on the whole situation, which he expressed remorse for once again. ''You're right, he may not be like you. He ain't from where you're from. The things you went through, the way you had to come up, he may not have came up like that.' For that five seconds, I forgot where I was at because I immediately went to what I know. But what you know don't really work here.' Ex-Warriors teammates have experienced a lot since infamous exchange Although Jordan Poole, Golden State and their fans wish Draymond Green had this kind of outlook back in 2022, it is nice to hear him explain his thought process. He seems to understand what his temper and short-sighted approach did to the team during that tense time. Advertisement Poole has dealt with his own maturity questions, and may have a different viewpoint than he did when the exchange initially happened. In any case, both men have pressing concerns to deal with moving into next season. Green and the Warriors are focused on doing everything necessary to win another title before Bay Area basketball undergoes an inevitable and complete identity change at some point in the future. Poole must adjust to his new reality after being traded by the Washington Wizards to the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday. Despite their troublesome past, they will forever be linked by the Larry O'Brien Trophy. Winning a championship together usually means something. Regardless of if Green and Poole hang out any time soon, the former appears to have found some clarity. And with the final pick in the first round of the Draft, the Clippers selected Yanic Konan Niederhauser. Advertisement With the Draft now being a two-day event, the Clippers entered with the No. 30th pick in Wednesday night's first round and the No. 51 pick in Thursday night's second round. LA Clippers select with No. 30 pick in 2025 NBA Draft According to ClutchPoints' Brett Siegel, the LA Clippers selected 22-year old Yanic Konan Niederhauser. 'Yanic is a talented young big with great positional size who can run the floor, protect the rim, roll and finish,' said Lawrence Frank, Clippers President of Basketball Operations in a press release. 'He is an excellent athlete and we're excited to add him to the organization.' Advertisement The Clippers held a media availability with both Frank and general manager Trent Redden, where the two addressed the decision to take Konan Niederhauser. 'I think his best basketball is ahead of him,' Frank added. 'He's got great positional size. He's a terrific athlete. North to South he's one of the fastest centers. In fact, he tested the fastest at the combine. He's a very good screen center, roller and vertical lob threat. We think in due time, not next year, but in, you know, you can squint in two years from now, you can see him with the ability to shoot some threes. He's got a really, really good touch. He's so thirsty to learn. He's super, super coachable. He understands the areas he has to get better at. He's very, very motivated to be really, really good.' The center out of Penn State averaged 12.9 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks per game in 25 minutes per game and 29 appearances on the season. In his latest mock draft, ClutchPoints' Brett Siegel had this to say about the center: Advertisement 'Yanic Konan Niederhauser has been one of the biggest risers in the pre-draft process, and he's even drawing some consideration from teams with late first-round picks due to his rim-running and high-flying abilities. Niederhauser possesses a large frame with a 7-foot-3 wingspan and always plays well above the rim as a pick-and-roll finisher.' According to ESPN's Jay Bilas, Niederhauser led the Big 10 in block percentage and totaled 67 blocks in his 29 games.
