Yet gig-goers at American vocalist Iggy Pop's Lust For Life showcase were then gobsmacked to see the 78 year old topless inside.
He was then wheeled off to a host of cheers.
The Michigan-born star, a former member of punk band the Stooges, posted the dramatic clip to his page on X with the caption: "London was a hoot! How you exit is equally important to how you enter."
One fan was quick to comment: "Only Iggy … may he long reign."
A second posted: "Fantastic! You are Master!" as a third gushed: "Always that smile…mischievous charmer."
One then put: "F**kin love you Iggy!!"
The wild man of rock, who was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame in 2010, played the venue on May 28.
He kicked off the gig with Stooges track TV Eye and rattled through 20 tracks.
He wrapped with tune Funtime after a cover version of The Dee Jays track Real Wild Child.

Iggy previously revealed the way he relaxes off-stage - and it has nothing to do with a coffin.

Last year, he opened up about the two things that gave him pleasure during his rock prime - Baths and rubber ducks.
He said: 'I like baths, sometimes with a rubber duck and bubbles – yeah definitely bubbles.'
The punk icon made the revelation at a listening party at Cannes Film Festival, hosted by Magnum, adding: 'Sometimes I get really upset if it's getting late in the day and I think to myself that I haven't done anything I really like.
'And music is what gives me pleasure you know, well music and the sea.
'That's my default setting, so I'm always putting my pleasure first – I can get really desperate to seek pleasure – and when that happens usually it means someone takes me to the beach.
'Chill for me is about 95 per cent of life, I'm chill all the time.'
Iggy went on to confirm the two main elements he now needs to make him feel euphoric – love and privacy – adding: 'If I get both of those in one day, then it's WOW.'

Natalie Palamides' solo show WEER will reopen the Cherry Lane Theatre
The latest in the spate of cross-over hits to have started their life at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, A24 will produce the American premiere of Natalie Palamides' one-woman show, WEER. The four-week engagement will be the first long-run program at the historic Cherry Lane Theatre, which will reopen in September after being dark for two years. Tickets are on sale now at or at the theatre's box office, newly reopened today. In WEER, the award-winning clown-comedienne plays both sides of a dueling Gen X couple – literally: one half of her body the man; the other, the woman. Reviewing its Fringe debut last year, Time Out's Andrzej Lukowski called the 'gloriously ridiculous '90s rom com' a 'virtuoso piece of batshittery from Palamides.' Palamides writes, directs and performs in the show, describing it as, New Years Eve 1999. Star Crossed Lovers. A Quarrel at the strike of midnight. Expect to see split-in-half wigs, costumes and fake chest hair in the 'hysterically funny but weirdly poignant hour.' Opening night is set for September 28, with performances scheduled through October 19. Tickets range from $30–$109 and are available now at though there'll also be A$24 rush ticket deal for every performance (more than one ticket available per show, but how could we resist the nod?). Palamides hit the indie mainstream when Netflix picked up her sell-out special Nate for distribution. The Pittsburgh native has won a slew of Edinburgh awards, which makes New York theater the next logical stage to conquer. Tucked in Manhattan's West Village since 1817, when it went up as a farm silo before finding new lives as a brewery, box factory and gay bar, the intimate theater has seen some of the greatest theatrical talents premiere works by the likes of Edward Albee and Tennessee Williams. Indie film company A24 purchased it in 2023, and will present theatrical productions, stand-up comedy, staged readings, film screenings and other special events in the 166-seat venue, which now includes a new bar and restaurant from the Frenchette team. A screening series helmed by Sofia Coppola will begin on Sunday, September 14, followed by an inaugural block party.

Singer Jess Glynne has hit out at the White House after they used her voiceover in a travel advert for one of the most controversial tweets in recent memory British singer Jess Glynne has taken aim at the White House following the American admiration using one of her most iconic songs in a recent controversial social media post. On Tuesday, the official Twitter /X account for the White House used the voiceover used in an advert for travel company Jet 2 to seemingly mock a group of migrants being deported. The audio, which is currently trending online and generating many memes, features Jess' song Hold My Hand. The viral TikTok sound begins with Jess singing her 2015 before voice actress, Zoe Lister delivers the soundbite "nothing beats a Jet2 holiday." In a controversial move, the White House joined the many content creators and businesses using the voiceover from a British airline advert in the hope of going viral earlier this week. The post showed handcuffed undocumented individuals being led by obscured Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers onto a GlobalX aircraft – a carrier frequently employed by ICE. The provocative tweet was accompanied by the caption: "When ICE books you a one-way Jet2 holiday to deportation. Nothing beats it!". Amid the backlash to the poor taste tweet from the official account for the residence and principal workplace of the President of the United States Donald Trump, Hold My Hand singer Jess has revealed her disgust at the post. Sharing a screenshot of the offending tweet, Jess told her Instagram followers: "This post honestly makes me sick. My music is about love, unity, and spreading positivity - never about division or hate." "I need her AND jet2 to sue him separately for the maximum amount of money," one Twitter user wrote online in response to Jess' post. "Her music is for healing not for hate. Love wins every time," another penned. A third wrote: "Good. artists gotta protect their art from becoming propaganda. white house probably thought they were being cute but just exposed how out of touch they are lol." President Trump departed Scotland on Tuesday as his five-day visit came to an end, with Air Force One taking off from RAF Lossiemouth in Moray. The president concluded his trip by opening a new golf course at his resort in Menie, Aberdeenshire, on Tuesday morning. After playing on the new course, he flew by helicopter to the RAF base. During his visit, he had earlier stayed at his other Scottish resort at Turnberry in South Ayrshire, where he enjoyed several rounds of golf. Despite the mostly private nature of the trip, he hosted Sir Keir Starmer at both resorts on Monday. EU Commission president Ursula von der Leyen also took part in a meeting with him at Turnberry on Sunday. As Trump cut the ribbon on the new course in Aberdeenshire, he said he would play a quick round before returning to Washington to "put out fires all over the world". The US president teed off in front of an invited crowd including golfers, football stars, Scottish First Minister John Swinney and Scottish Labour leader Anas Sarwar. Just before hitting the first ball at the New Course, the US president told those gathered on a grandstand: "We started with a beautiful piece of land, but we made it much more beautiful. I look forward to playing it today. "We'll play it very quickly and then I go back to DC and we put out fires all over the world. We did one yesterday – you know we stopped the war. We've stopped about five wars. That's much more important than playing golf. As much as I like it, it's much more important.' The president met First Minister Mr Swinney on Monday evening at a private dinner, and the two had a more formal meeting on Tuesday ahead of the course opening.
