Bezos' Blue Origin company launches 13th human flight to space
Jeff Bezos' Blue Origin space company successfully launched its New Shepard crewed flight, NS-33, into space from a launch pad in western Texas less than a day after the company's founder married Lauren Sanchez in a star-studded wedding in Venice. Blue Origin's New Shepard program has flown more than 60 humans and 175 scientific payloads above the Kármán line, the internationally recognized boundary of space.

The Project Hail Mary trailer has dropped. It's perfect
Fans will have to wait until March 20, 2026 to see the final product, but the first trailer for Project Hail Mary dropped on Monday on the TODAY show. Based on the book written by Andy Weir -- who also authored The Martian -- Project Hail Mary is a story of survival, humanity and friendship as middle school science teacher Ryland Grace goes on an adventure he never could have expected. Phil Lord and Christopher Miller (Into the Spider-Verse) are at the helm as directors for the project. Ryan Gosling stars as Grace, who opens the trailer waking up from a coma and finding himself in outer space. Over the course of the trailer, we find out that Grace has to go on a mission in an attempt to find out why the sun (and all the stars in the solar system) are dying. Check out the full trailer here: It's just shy of three minutes of perfection, utilizing Harry Styles' song "Sign of the Times" as Eva (played by Anatomy of a Fall's Sandra Hüller) tries to convince Grace he's the only man for the job. The trailer also breaks down Project Hail Mary's relatively complicated plot well, explaining that if they can't complete this mission, the entire world will die. Oh, and we get our first glimpse of Rocky, the alien Grace meets on his journey. All-in-all, lovers of the book should be excited based on what we've seen so far. "I'm several light years from my apartment," Gosling says to open the clip. "And I'm not an astronaut." March 2026 can't get here fast enough. Ryan Gosling puts the 'not' in 'astronaut' in the first trailer for 'Project Hail Mary,' Amazon MGM Studios' adaptation of the Andy Weir novel of the same name. The film hails from 'Jump Street' and 'Spider-Verse' filmmakers Phil Lord and Chris Miller, with 'The Martian' screenwriter Drew Goddard on script duties for a story that's not entirely dissimilar from that previous Weird adaptation starring Matt Damon. Gosling plays a middle school science teacher who an international group enlists as humanity's last hope — he is to travel 11.9 million light-years as Earth faces extinction with the Sun dying out. Set to Harry Styles' 'Sign of the Times' and showing off some eye-popping cinematography by Oscar-winning 'Dune' and 'The Batman' DP Greig Fraser, the trailer boasts a mix of humor and humanity that is a hallmark of Lord and Miller's filmography. Speaking of, this marks Lord and Miller's first feature directorial effort since 2014's '22 Jump Street.' The duo were set to make their sci-fi debut with 2018's 'Star Wars' spinoff 'Solo,' but left that project over creative differences. That's not to say they haven't been busy spearheading the 'Spider-Verse' sequels and making the Apple TV+ show 'The Afterparty,' but 'Project Hail Mary' is a pretty exciting return to the feature film director's chair in a big way. Amazon MGM Studios has released the first trailer for Ryan Gosling's sci-fi adventure film Project Hail Mary . I've excited about this movie! It looks like it's going to take audiences on a film and wild ride at the movies! The film is about 'an astronaut who wakes up to find himself millions of miles away from home, in a tiny craft with two dead crewmates for company and no recollection of his mission or even his name. But this man will soon discover he is humanity's only hope for survival from an extinction-level threat.' Gosling said at CinemaCon: 'It's an insanely ambitious story that's massive in scope, and it seemed really hard to make, and that's kind of our bag. This is why we go to the movies. And I'm not just saying it because I'm in it. I'm also saying it because I'm a producer on the film.' The movie is being directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, who have written and directed films like Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs and The Lego Movie , and directed the 21 Jump Street films. Drew Goddard, best known for writing the film The Cabin in the Woods as well as being Oscar-nominated for adapting for the script for the film The Martian , wrote the script.
