Zayas would have to take some punches along the way, but he largely boxed a beautiful fight and outclassed Garcia over the distance. After the final bell the judges turned in official scores of 116-112, 118-108, and 119-109, all in favor of Zayas who has now realized his childhood dream.

Bruce Carrington (16-0, 9 KOs) dominated his interim WBC featherweight title fight against Mateus Heita (14-1, 9 KO), clearly outpointing him over 12 full rounds. While Heita landed some solid shots in spots, he was otherwise getting hit with everything but the kitchen sink from Carrington in return. If Carrington carried any demonstrable power, he likely would've gotten Heita out of there or at least dropped him a few times, but instead he'll just have to settle for a clear points win.
Emiliano Vargas KO-1 (0:42) Alexander Espinoza
Emiliano Vargas (15-0, 13 KOs) scored a spectacular first round knockout of Alexander Espinoza (20-4-1, 9 KOs) on the televised opener. Within a minute of the first round Espinoza got caught by a massive pull counter by a Vargas right hand that landed flush, completely crushing Espinoza who had no shot at beating the count. The ending came at the 0:42 minute mark of Round 1. Vargas, who made an emphatic statement says he'll look to continue to climb the ladder towards world title contention.

Lee urges 'ruthless' Donovan in Crocker rematch
Andy Lee has urged Paddy Donovan to be "ruthless" when he takes on Lewis Crocker for the vacant IBF welterweight world title on 13 September in Belfast. Donovan was in a commanding position when he first faced Crocker on 1 March but was disqualified at the end of the eighth round for punching after the bell, following two earlier points deductions for use of the head and elbow. Following his disqualification, Donovan's team successfully lobbied for a rematch which was granted by the IBF, but the result of the first fight stood. That first fight was a final eliminator for the title, but with Jaron 'Boots' Ennis since vacating to move up to the light-middleweight division, the title is now on the line for the rematch to be staged at Windsor Park. The opportunity to make up for his disappointment last time is a motivating factor but Lee, Donovan's head coach, does not believe his man needs to drastically change much as side from ending the argument as soon as the chance presents itself. "The tweaks are more on his (Crocker's) side," Lee told BBC Sport NI. "Does he become more aggressive or try to be more adventurous with his punch output? If he does, he's going to leave himself more open. "My advice to Paddy is to be ruthless and when you get your chance, take him out. He might have had the chance last time but was enjoying it too much, so now he has to go out there and grab his title." 'Fitting for Donovan to win world title in Belfast' It would be something of a full circle moment should Donovan emerge victorious as although a native of Limerick, Belfast has been something of a home venue. Five of his previous 15 professional contests have taken place in the city, including his debut back in 2019 - for which Lee was in his corner. Returning to Belfast for this huge night does not hold any fears for fighter and coach with Lee suggesting it would be fitting that Donovan is crowned world champion in the city. "I started out with Paddy as an amateur," he said of their journey together. "This is his sixth time fighting in Belfast and he's always had a great reception, so we feel at home here. I have a great affinity with Belfast, trained here many times and fought a couple of times myself, so it's a great boxing city. "It's beautiful that he (Donovan) started his career here and he'll win his world title here." Lotus to join show of F1 championship winning cars
A "legendary" Formula 1 team will showcase some of its former world championship winning race cars at a motorsport festival, organisers said. The Silverstone Festival in Northamptonshire, due to be held over the August bank holiday weekend, has announced four cars from the former Norfolk-based Team Lotus will be part of display featuring F1 cars raced by all 34 of the sport's world champions. The showcase is part of a special celebration to mark the 75th anniversary of the Formula 1 World Championship. Nick Wigley, the event's director, said the display was an "ambitious challenge that no one has ever attempted before". He said: "Now, the star-studded collection is not only nearly complete, but it also features an incredible number of title-winning cars. McLaren, Mercedes, Red Bull, and Williams have already confirmed their support for the showcase, contributing title-winning cars driven by illustrious champions including Ayrton Senna, Nigel Mansell, Fernando Alonso, Sir Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen. Team Lotus was founded by Colin Chapman and recorded its first F1 entry in 1958. Based at Hethel, near Norwich, the team counted world champions Jim Clark, Jochen Rindt, Emerson Fittipaldi, and Mario Andretti among its drivers. British driver Clark was intrinsically linked with Team Lotus in its formative years, winning titles in 1963 and 1965 and the "iconic" Lotus 25/R4 in which he won his first crown will join the display, alongside those driven by Rindt, Fittipaldi and Andretti. The festival will also feature performances from Natasha Bedingfield and Craig David presents TS5. The Silverstone Festival runs from 22-24 August. McMenamin: LeBron James is still monitoring the Lakers' moves
Ever since LeBron James opted into the final season of his contract in late June, there has been lots of speculation about his immediate future with the Los Angeles Lakers. That speculation stemmed from a statement his agent, Rich Paul, gave to ESPN that stated, in part, that the two "want to evaluate what's best" for the superstar moving forward. James is 40 years of age and is headed toward his record 23rd season in the NBA. It does appear he will start the new season as a member of the Lakers, but what happens afterward with him is anyone's guess, especially now that the franchise revolves around Luka Doncic, who just agreed to a three-year contract extension. ESPN's Dave McMenamin reported that James is supportive of Doncic being with the team, but that the four-time MVP is still looking at what the team will do to build a championship-caliber roster (at 10:42). "I'm told that the statement that Rich Paul gave to Shams Charania back in June when LeBron opted in still stands," McMenamin said. "LeBron and his representatives will be monitoring the Lakers' moves that they make, because they recognize that there's only a very limited amount of time left in his career and he wants to be competing for championships, whatever time that is." It has been rumored that James and his camp have been unhappy that the Lakers are now catering to Doncic and not James. However, Charania also reported that James is supportive of this shift. With Doncic now under contract for at least the next three years, Los Angeles can fully shift its focus to building a championship team around both superstars. Once James leaves, there's no telling how long it will take the team to find another star to put alongside Doncic, and therefore, now is the time for it to go for its 18th NBA championship, especially since Doncic made it clear that he wants to get a ring now.
