'Squid Game' star Lee Jung Jae's journey: From Seoul streets to Times Square

Ever imagined what it's like to be stopped for selfies in Mumbai, Paris, or even a random airport in Brazil? That's Lee Jung Jae's reality now, thanks to the Squid Game tidal wave. In his own words, "Wherever I go, people recognize me. It's honestly so surprising and kind of surreal." He's not exaggerating-after Squid Game Season 3 dropped, the show hit number one in a jaw-dropping 93 countries. The world's got Squid Game fever, and Lee Jung Jae is at the center of it all. He even joked about how, as Asians, we often hear that Westerners can't tell Asian faces apart. But now? "They spot me instantly, even if I'm just walking by on the street. That's when I realize just how massive Squid Game has become," he said, still sounding a bit stunned. Imagine your local rickshaw driver recognizing a K-drama star-yep, that's the level we're talking about. Squid Game: Not Just a Show, But a Cultural Tsunami What's wild is that even people who haven't watched Squid Game know about it. It's become a global pop culture reference, like Harry Potter or Game of Thrones. Lee Jung Jae pointed out that Squid Game has made Korean content a global obsession. "People start with Squid Game, then end up watching more K-dramas. It's boosted interest in all things Korean-music, food, fashion, you name it," he explained. And honestly, who hasn't fallen down a K-content rabbit hole at 2 a.m.? For Indian youth, this is like when Sacred Games or Mirzapur suddenly made Indian stories cool on the world stage. But with Squid Game, it's on steroids-K-content is now everywhere, and Lee Jung Jae is the face of that revolution. Fame Hits Different When It's Global Being famous in your own country is one thing, but being recognized everywhere is next-level. Lee Jung Jae admits he still can't fully process it. "It's a huge experience. I'm just grateful for all the love and attention. Sometimes I wish I could take it all in a bit more slowly," he shared. He's gone from being a respected actor in Korea to one of the most famous Koreans on the planet-no exaggeration. And here's the kicker: this fame isn't just about him. Lee hopes the Squid Game effect keeps the doors open for more Korean creators and actors, so the world keeps tuning in to what Korea has to offer. "I hope this wave doesn't fade away and that it brings good changes to not just culture, but all industries," he said, sounding like a true ambassador for K-culture.

The nine-member boy group just scored a double win on Korea's top music shows with their new title track 'SET NET G0?!' from the album 'Dare to Crave'. First, they snatched the trophy on SBS funE's 'The Show' on July 1st, then doubled down with another win on 'Show Champion' the very next day. That's two shiny crowns in just 48 hours-talk about manifesting your main character energy! For anyone counting, this is their seventh music show win since debut, but the energy this time? Next level. Their fans, called LUVITY, are basically living their best lives right now, and honestly, who wouldn't want to be part of that squad? 'Dare to Crave': The Album That's Got Everyone Talking 'Dare to Crave' isn't just another K-pop album-it's a full-on rebranding moment. CRAVITY's been around for six years, but this comeback feels like a fresh start. The album has 12 tracks, each one dripping with youthful energy, bold synths, and that signature CRAVITY synchronization. The main track, 'SET NET G0?!', is all about not stopping, no matter what-something every Indian youth hustling through life can totally relate to. What's extra cool? All the members got their hands dirty in the songwriting, composing, and even producing. There are unit tracks, personal stories, and a whole lot of "we're in this together" vibes. It's like if your college group project actually worked out and everyone got an A+. Live Stages, Viral Choreo, and That Summer Mood CRAVITY's comeback stages have been pure serotonin. Their 'SET NET G0?!' performance is a masterclass in sharp moves and stable live vocals. The group's choreography is so tight, it's basically begging to go viral on Reels and Shorts. It's the kind of fanservice that makes you want to stan harder. That's a huge step up from their last venue-and a clear sign they're leveling up fast. Their album is already charting on Melon Hot 100 and Genie, with all 12 tracks making waves. In rupee terms, their growing popularity is like going from a few lakhs to full-on crores in fan engagement. The group's message? Keep craving, keep chasing, and never settle. It's the kind of motivation every Indian youth could use, whether you're prepping for exams, job interviews, or just trying to survive another week of family WhatsApp forwards. When K-pop Dreams Meet Desi Hustle Watching CRAVITY's journey feels weirdly familiar-like those Bollywood underdog stories where the squad sticks together, faces setbacks, and then totally owns the stage. Their teamwork, relentless drive, and gratitude for fans echo the same spirit you see in every Indian college fest or cricket match. It's proof that whether you're in Seoul or Surat, chasing your dreams with your crew is a universal vibe. As CRAVITY keeps breaking records and hearts, one thing's for sure: this summer, they're not just daring to crave-they're daring us all to dream a little bigger.

Rishabh Pant breaks world record, then flings bat to square leg; Jasprit Bumrah goes ROFL

There is never a dull moment when Rishabh Pant is on screen. Whether batting, keeping or even away from the cricket field, attending a comedy show as a guest, Pant is box office everywhere. Here, we would try to stick to matters on the field, which is why Pant is the cynosure of all eyes. On Day 4 of the ongoing India vs England 2nd Test at Edgbaston, Pant broke a world record. It was as nonchalant as possible. Pant now holds the record for most sixes in an away country. He now has 23 sixes (till Lunch on Day 4) in England, which is two more than the previous record-holder Ben Stokes, who has hit 21 sixes in South Africa. India's Rishabh Pant plays a shot on day four(AFP) Pant walked in at No.5 after KL Rahul's stumps were massacred by Josh Tongue and straightaway gave the charge to the bowler who is renowned for bowling over 140 consistently and missed a full toss. Wicket, charge, full toss, swing of the bat and miss. Oufff! We will give you a moment to catch your breath, as Pant, too, gave us one by defending the next ball. As solid as it gets. But that was it. The rollercoaster ride, however, started its steep descent. Pant pulled the next short ball for a four to get off the mark and then danced down the ground to deposit the next ball for a huge six over mid-off. It was Pant's 22nd six in England, that took him past Stokes' record for most by any batter in an away country. The entertainment, of course, had just begun. Pant tried to give the same treatment to England captain Ben Stokes, but this time, he didn't quite get the same elevation. It went straight to the mid-off fielder's hands and burst out. Stokes could not believe it. Zak Crawley had let go of a regulation chance to send back the most destructive Indian batter. Quite expectedly, this did little to deter Pant, who continued to treat this Test match as book cricket. He cut Tongue for a four in the next over, and when the right-arm pacer overcorrected his line, Pant almost sat on one knee and slog-swept it for another six. Off-spinner Shoaib Bashir was Pant's next target. He was hit for a couple of overs in the next over. Stokes threw him the ball anticipating a miscue from Pant. Tongue was still at it from the other end, classic Stokes captaincy. He never takes off the bowler who gets hit. Instead, gives him an opportunity to change things. In the fourth ball of the 34th over, another amazing thing happened. Pant, while trying a repeat of his six a couple of years ago, lost his bat. He swung so hard that the ball flew out of his grip and landed near square leg, leaving almost everyone at Edgbaston in splits. Rishabh Pant throws bat to square leg, Jasprit Bumrah reacts The best reaction, however, came from India pacer Jasprit Bumrah, who could not stop laughing while sitting in the dressing room. Mohammed Siraj, too, was seen laughing in disbelief. Pant was unbeaten on 41 alongside skipper Shubman Gill (24 not out) at the interval. Their quickfire partnership of 51 runs came off 53 balls.
