New Psychological Thriller 'SWIPE' Delivers for Fans of 'Gone Girl' and 'You' with a Deadly Take on Modern Dating
NEW YORK, NY, UNITED STATES, May 1, 2025 / EINPresswire.com / -- What happens when online dating turns deadly? In 'SWIPE: A Twisty Psychological Thriller,' bestselling authors R.G. Belsky and Bonnie Traymore dive into the treacherous world of digital deception, obsession, and blurred morality. With dual points of view, unforgettable characters, and whip-smart plotting, 'SWIPE' is building buzz as a must-read for fans of 'Gone Girl' and 'You.'
Sonya Romano, a thirty-something woman fed up with the manipulative men she meets on dating apps, decides to take matters into her own hands. When one of her confrontations ends in death, she spirals into a world of secrets and suspicion. At the same time, Jake Parker—a decorated journalist reluctantly working for a click-driven website—is assigned to go under cover and write about online dating. What he uncovers is far more disturbing than a few bad dates. As his investigation gains momentum, he starts to suspect that someone on the app is out for revenge, and it might be Sonya.
Told from alternating perspectives, 'SWIPE' explores how quickly lines blur between justice and vengeance, intimacy and exploitation. Sharp dialogue, mounting tension, and complex moral questions drive the story forward, as both characters hurtle toward a conclusion neither could anticipate.
Traymore, an Amazon Charts bestselling author of emotionally layered suspense novels, brings depth and volatility to Sonya's character. Belsky, a veteran crime journalist with more than 20 thrillers under his belt, lends authenticity and narrative momentum through Jake's investigative lens. Their combined voices create a dark, tightly woven thriller that captures the danger and volatility of digital intimacy.
A THRILLER ROOTED IN REALITY
The idea for 'SWIPE' was sparked when Traymore heard one bad date story too many. 'A friend was venting over coffee and joking that I should write a book about terrible dates,' she said. 'Of course, since I write thrillers, my imagination immediately veered toward revenge.' She approached Belsky with the concept, and their partnership quickly took shape.
'Bonnie's idea had such bite,' Belsky said. 'We split the narrative—she wrote Sonya, I wrote Jake—and each new chapter pushed the other forward. It came together surprisingly fast.'
With their distinct voices and shared love for twisty storytelling, Traymore and Belsky elevate a disturbing premise into a tense, psychologically layered thriller that feels grounded and unsettlingly plausible.

Emily Ratajkowski flaunts summer body during poolside fashion moment
Emily Ratajkowski spent the weekend soaking up the summer sun. The 34-year-old model gave fans a glimpse into her time by the pool. Ratajkowski posed in a plunging black swimsuit from her own line while vacationing near the Adriatic Sea. Ratajkowski referenced her vacation with her caption, writing: "adriaticcc." She wore her hair down as she gave the camera a pout for the photos. Fans were quick to flood the comment section of her post with fire and heart emojis. "How do I send in my marriage application?" one user asked. Another fan commented, "Wow girl youre awesomely gorgeous and sexy but I guess you already. Know that." "I have to say you're my all-time favorite so beautiful," one fan wrote. Ratajkowski launched her own swimwear line, Inamorata, in 2017. At the time, the model confirmed her project was "self-funded." "I have basically a consultant and an assistant and then it's all me," the former actress told Vogue. "It's been really, really fun. I've been doing different things with different people, but to have complete control is really special and exciting." Ratajkowski took on the endeavor after turning her back on Hollywood. She landed her first big role in 2014 as Ben Affleck's mistress in the psychological thriller film "Gone Girl." Following the role, Ratajkowski set out to prove she was a "serious actress with longevity." "But I didn't feel like, 'Oh, I'm an artist performing and this is my outlet.' I felt like a piece of meat who people were judging, saying, 'Does she have anything else other than her [breasts]?'" Ratajkowski previously told the Los Angeles Times. After starring in films such as "We Are Your Friends," "I Feel Pretty" and "Lying and Stealing," she chose to turn her back on Hollywood. Ratajkowski grew tired of making herself "digestible to powerful men in Hollywood" and fired her agent, manager and commercial rep in early 2020. "I didn't trust them," the model told the outlet. "I was like, 'I can handle receiving phone calls. I'm gonna make these decisions. None of you have my best interest at heart. And you all hate women.'"

Why Lola Tung and Nicholas Alexander Chavez Were Cut From ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer'
Fans who were excited to see Lola Tung and Nicholas Alexander Chavez in the new I Know What You Did Last Summer film shouldn't get their hopes up. Director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson recently told People magazine that the two actors' scenes were nicked from the final cut of the slasher sequel, despite the filmmaker initially planning to open the movie with them. More from The Hollywood Reporter First-Time Nominee Cooper Koch Is "Devastated" Over Emmy Snubs for Two of His 'Monsters' Co-Stars What Convinced Freddie Prinze Jr. to Return to 'I Know What You Did Last Summer' Lola Tung Is Ready for 'The Summer I Turned Pretty' Fans to Be Surprised 'In every movie, it's best laid plans, and then you edit the movie and you put it together and you go, 'I love this in a vacuum. This is a fantastic scene. But it doesn't fit in the movie,'' Robinson explains of her decision to cut Tung and Chavez's scenes. 'It was just one of those situations where it had nothing to do with Lola and Nicholas — they are both so fantastic. I really would love to work with them again. I loved working with them. They did a fabulous job,' she added. 'But in the larger tapestry of the film, it just didn't fit.' The Do Revenge director said it always 'sucks' when you have to cut someone's scenes, 'because you don't want to do that to those actors. And it sucks when you love something as a scene but that scene just doesn't work in the final cut of the film.' Chavez, who rose to fame last year with his portrayal of Lyle Menendez in Ryan Murphy's Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story, previously told The Hollywood Reporter that he 'had a really great time' shooting the reboot. 'All of the horror fans are gonna come for me as soon as they see this, but I had no idea what I Know What You Did Last Summer was before they came to me with the idea,' he added about joining the project. 'I live under a rock — please don't give me a hard time about it — but we started talking about it and then I turned to my girlfriend who's like the biggest horror movie nerd of all time, and her whole face lights up, her jaw drops and she's like, 'We gotta go watch the movie right now.' So we go into the living room where our TV is and we throw it on and it was just so much fun.' Chavez continued, 'I grew up a Scooby-Doo kid, so to see Freddie Prinze Jr. doing a different thing other than Fred, that was a lot of fun. So I got back on the phone and talked to the director [Robinson] and was listening to her pitch the direction that it should go in, and I was like, 'Yeah!'' The I Know What You Did Last Summer reboot, which hits theaters on Friday, sees Prinze Jr. and Jennifer Love Hewitt reprise their roles from the original 1997 pic. The film also stars Madelyn Cline, Chase Sui Wonders, Sarah Pidgeon, Jonah Hauer-King and Tyriq Withers.
