Unlike the cornerback position coach Elko the only player added to the safety room was true freshman Rashad Johnson Jr. This shows the amount of faith the staff with the player on the roster to improve.

Ratcliffe, as the third safety on the field, unlocks more blitz and disguise options. Anderson remains the brain, Brooks brings the bite, and the depth group offers a mix of experience and upside. This unit won't just hold the line, it'll bait, confuse, and punish if they can put it all together.
Final Thoughts
There's upside here, but it's all speculative. Ratcliffe adds versatility, and Anderson brings needed stability. Beyond that, Brooks hasn't anchored a full season, Kerr's the only proven depth, and communication issues still hang over the room. If the vets lock in and the younger guys come on fast, this unit could help A&M turn a corner. But for now, the talent's intriguing, the cohesion isn't.

Spartan Stadium gets minor upgrades, updates ahead of upcoming 2025 season
It appears the updates to Spartan Stadium are going to be wrapped up just in time for opening kickoff later this month. Spartan Stadium has gone through a facelift this offseason, with some minimal but notable updates to the home of Michigan State football. The official Michigan State University social media account posted a few pictures of the updates being made to Spartan Stadium this offseason, with the notable items being related to the scoreboards and east side of the stadium. In the post below, you'll see that the Spartan helmet logo has been updated on the two scoreboards on the south side of Spartan Stadium. Additionally, one notable fan account -- OdellBretthamJr -- pointed out that the east side of the stadium (the worst looking spot of the stadium) has been painted to make it look better. Check out the pictures of the new look Spartan Stadium below: As I mentioned off the top, these are minor updates but certainly nice touches. Especially the east side that got a new paint job. Michigan State will open its doors to Spartan Stadium for the first time this season on August 29 in the season-opener against Western Michigan. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET and will be televised on FS1. Notre Dame star RB Jeremiyah Love has signed a NIL deal with New Balance
You can add yet another Name, Image and Likeness deal for Notre Dame star running back Jeremiyah Love, as he will now partner with New Balance, according to their press release they shared with Fighting Irish Wire. He is their latest star they have signed recently joining former Ohio State stars Marvin Harrison Jr., and Chase Young. Not only that, they have stars like tennis' Coco Gauff, baseball's Shohei Ohtani, and basketball players like Kawhi Leonard, Cooper Flagg and Cameron Brink. It's an elite group of athletes that Love will be joining, as the release stated they were interested in Love due to his 'rare combination of athleticism, intelligence, and heart to everything he does,' said Naveen Lokesh, Head of Global Sports Marketing for American Football and Basketball. It's fairly unique for a college player to having signed with a shoe company before they have left to the professional ranks, and it goes to show you that Love is one of the future faces of the game. USC football countdown to kickoff—Travis Dye in focus
The countdown to USC's 2025 football season is officially on! The Trojans kick off their new campaign 26 days from today. You need something to help you while away the days and hours in the spring and summer. This is one way to do so. In this new series, countdown to kickoff, we will be counting down the days by highlighting a notable Trojan who wore each number. Today, we look at former USC running back Travis Dye. Position: Running back Years played at USC: 2022 Career highlights: Dye spent the first four years of his college career at Oregon—even scoring the game-winning touchdown in the 2020 Pac-12 Championship Game against the Trojans. Prior to the 2022 season, Dye transferred to USC for his final year of college eligibility. It did not take him long to make an impact with the Trojans rushing for over 100 yards in five of his first eight games in Cardinal and Gold. Unfortunately, Dye's USC career came to a premature conclusion when he suffered a leg injury during a November game against Colorado that ended his season. Without Dye, the Trojans took down rivals UCLA and Notre Dame, before falling to Utah in the Pac-12 Championship Game and Tulane in the Cotton Bowl. Despite playing in just ten games for USC, Dye had a massive impact on the program, as his leadership played a key role in helping the Trojans improve from four wins in 2021 to 11 in 2022. Following his departure, USC was not the same caliber of team the following season. After USC: Unfortunately, Dye's injury prevented him from being able to work out at the NFL Combine, which likely hurt his draft stock. He was not selected in the 2023 NFL Draft. Dye signed with the New York Jets as an undrafted free agent, but was waived prior to the start of the regular season.
