‘Superman' Fan Event: David Corenswet On Comic Book Film Renaissance, Rachel Brosnahan Talks Journalistic Integrity, Nicholas Hoult On Lex Luthor
The team behind the upcoming DC Studios movie stopped by London for a fan event last night, ahead of the film's official world premiere in LA next week. Fans dressed up as Superman and various other DCU characters descended on London's Leicester Square and competed for Superman-themed prizes. Deadline was on the red carpet and spoke to the Superman writer, director and producer James Gunn and stars David Corenswet, Rachel Brosnahan and Nicholas Hoult. Producer Peter Safran was also in attendance.

Superman is the first film of the DC Universe titled Chapter One: Gods and Monsters. Corenswet dons the cape this time as Superman, who must reconcile his alien Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as reporter Clark Kent. As the embodiment of truth, justice and the human way, he soon finds himself in a world that views these as old-fashioned.
Superman will hit theaters July 11, 2025.

The summer events being staged in the beautiful grounds of a historic Bolton hall
A traditional garden party will be held in the beautiful grounds of one of Bolton's historic halls this weekend. Smithills Garden Party opens at noon on Sunday, July 6, with an invite extended to all to attend. The family friendly event is one of the most popular on the town's social calender with plenty of activities to suit all tastes. Picture by Henry Lisowski Highlights this year include food and artisan stalls, fairground friends, craft table and trail, garden games, tours, face painting, storytelling and much more. Entry is free but there may be charges for some activities. The garden party runs until 4pm. The classic love tragedy Romeo and Juliet will perform at 5.30pm and Macbeth at 7.30pm. The plays will be performed outdoors in the gardens, by multi award winning A Place for Us Theatre Company.
