Childhood sweethearts from Carmarthen, Sioned and Fin, are set to undertake an epic journey as they appear in the latest series of Race Across the World on BBC One. At just 18 and 19 at the time of recording, Fin and Sioned are making history as the youngest participants to compete in the show, setting their sights firmly on victory.
Swapping their quaint Welsh life for an awe-inspiring 14,000km trek across Asia, the race starts at the Great Wall of China before taking on four other teams through China, Nepal, and India, then concluding the competition in Kanniyakumari, India's southernmost point.

Before competing on the show the pair admitted they hadn't travelled further than Europe together. But, since then, they have posted their glamorous holidays all over Instagram. For the latest TV and showbiz gossip sign up to our newsletter .

In an interview with Radio Wales Breakfast Fin said: "We'd never been outside of Europe together.
"So to then go somewhere like China, where the language and culture are completely different - it was just us, relying on each other for the first time."
When they took on the challenge back in October, 2024, the furthest they had travelled together was Tenerife in the Canary Islands.

Sioned told the radio show that despite being together since childhood they had "never really done anything outside of this little relationship in Wales".
They first became an item four years ago at just 13 years old, and they were both excited to compete in the new season of Race Across the World and thought it would be the ultimate test to their relationship.

Sioned shared her anticipation: "I wanted to travel anyway, so it's a great start for that, but along with discovering more about myself and Fin, just strengthening that bond in a very real and authentic way."
She elaborated on the couple's quest not only in terms of discovery but also dependency, remarking: "We've not really been together just the two of us before so this is something where we will have to rely and depend on each other, we don't have another choice. A lot about self-discovery I think as well as seeing more of the world in the process."
Fin remarked: "It's a way to see if me and her can be together basically, if it can work forever. A challenge to see if it will make or break us."

Sioned expressed her desire for the competition to strengthen their relationship, saying: "We've got such a strong bond anyway, but to know 100% that we can fully depend on each other and just see more of the world."
Since appearing on the show, the pair have shared pics of their travels together, including Uluru, also known as Ayers Rock, in Australia.

Sioned was initially encouraged by her mother to join the competition with her brother, but ultimately chose to partner with Fin. She relayed: "They love the show themselves and they're very sad to see me go, but they know it's an insane opportunity and want me to really go for it."
The couple will be up against four other duos in the contest, including siblings Elizabeth and Letitia; ex-spouses Yin and Gaz; brothers Brian and Melvyn; and mother-son pair Caroline and Tom.
Fin and Sioned will be on Race Across the World tonight, Wednesday, April 23 on BBC One and BBC iPlayer at 9pm.

The hit song lyrics that Mike Posner says aren't ‘true anymore'

Singer Mike Posner has disowned the lyrics of his 2016 hit song "I Took a Pill in Ibiza", as 'none of them are true anymore'. The 37-year-old musician, whose track topped the UK charts for four weeks, originally wrote the song after taking ecstasy with DJ Avicii in Ibiza, opening with the line: 'I took a pill in Ibiza to show Avicii I was cool'. Posner expressed pride in his personal transformation over the past 11 years, emphasising self-love and a shift away from behaviours he once engaged in to seek approval. He detailed overcoming significant physical and emotional challenges, such as climbing Mount Everest, leading to his healthiest relationship. The song generated controversy upon its release in 2016 due to its drug references, drawing criticism from Ibiza tourism chiefs and prompting questions about the BBC's decision to playlist it.

Roman Kemp banned from speaking to Hollywood star after interview prank backfired

Roman Kemp got off on the wrong foot with the A-lister with security being called in to remove hm. Roman Kemp has admitted that he's banned from talking to one huge A-lister after a car crash interview with the star that went very wrong. The 32-year-old confessed he was escorted out by security during a 2015 press junket with Jennifer Lawrence, 34 after a prank failed to land. ‌ He had been interviewing the Oscar winner as a part of her promo tour for her film Joy but explained he had not seen the list of pre-approved questions from his Capital FM producers before the cameras started rolling. Their discussion quickly became awkward when the actress provided short, clipped answers and said that the experience "sucked", barely engaging with the conversation. ‌ However, it was a prank gone wrong that appears to have sealed Roman's fate. The I'm A Celeb star had pretended to be a superfan and unveiled a fake tattoo of Jennifer Lawrence's face on his chest which reportedly caused the actress to call in security and have him removed from the room. ‌ Reflecting on the uncomfortable incident in an Instagram post on Tuesday, Roman wrote: 'Found this old picture of when I interviewed Jennifer Lawrence and for fun pretended to be a mega fan complete with a tattoo… She did NOT find it funny. I was escorted out by security and told I would never interview her again.' Roman, whose parents are Spandau Ballet's Martin Kemp and singer Shirlie Holliman, wrote in follow-up post: 'Tbf still haven't had the chance to redeem myself or explain the situation to her…' ‌ During the exchange over a decade ago, Jennifer was visibly unimpressed by Roman's questions, which included asking her what her favourite type of cheese was. One moment saw him read her a poem supposedly written in her honour, prompting her to sarcastically reply: 'Wow, that was incredibly touching.' ‌ Things went from bad to worse when Ronan claimed to have a tattoo dedicated to her and began unbuttoning his shirt to reveal the fake inking. Jennifer responded, deadpan: 'Oh my god. Oh man, wow right over your heart. I would expect nothing less. I'm flattered and honoured, it looks so permanent. How did they get it so glossy?' Roman then explained how his dad is Martin Kemp and hinted that he would like to take her on a date to one of his dad's concerts. ‌ She replied, stone-faced: 'To meet your dad? Coolest date ever.' Despite the awkward exchange, Roman clearly took it all in good humour. ‌ Speaking about the experience on The Chris Ramsey Show in 2018, he called it his 'trickiest interview' to date. He revealed: 'She's not having the best day clearly. She hasn't said hello to me, she hasn't acknowledged me, she's just sat there on the phone like this… 'I've already sat down and said 'hi how are you?' and all this type of stuff, [she] just said nothing. ‌ Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! I was like, 'yeah I'm already in the questioning her'.' Recalling the hilarious moment when he unveiled the fake tattoo, he said: 'She said nothing after that and then the security guard got up and asked me to leave. 'I am now banned from interviewing Jennifer Lawrence.'

'Kim Kardashian's £52 face wrap feeds into a dangerous obsession with facial perfection'

SKIMS has launched a brand new product that claims to help sculpt your face and help you wake up with a 'seriously sharp and contoured face' - but critics question whether it's taking beauty standards one step too far Kim Kardashian's SKIMS brand has never held back when it comes to unconventional standards of fashion lines - but the latest launch has left people divided. From bras with fake nipples on show to micro bikinis that would struggle to even cover a Dorito, it's a brand that always gets people talking. ‌ Renowned for their ultimate body shapewear, promising sleek silhouettes and serious tummy control knickers, the $3billion (£2.2bn) SKIMS empire has just released Seamless Sculpt Face Wrap designed to give you a snatched and sharp jawline, reduce puffiness and improve facial definition - apparently. ‌ Amid the launch, Mirror writer Danielle Kate Wroe called for the product to be "stopped". The shapewear, inspired by lymphatic drainage massages comes in two colours and tightly wraps around your face and neck and fastened with a Velcro strap. It's designed to be worn to bed, in the hope you wake up with a seriously sculpted face - but does it work? ‌ According to Kim, it's an "absolute necessity", as the contraption is infused with collagen yarns and the new launch, in true SKIMS style, has already sold out after only launching on July 29. Costing a staggering £52, shoppers are hoping to copy Kim's ultra-sculpted face shape. With many calling for women to just "sleep in peace", they aren't convinced this product is a good idea - including renowned skincare guru and expert Caroline Hirons, was seen chiming in on the Skims Instagram comments, asking: "Is it April Fools?" ‌ Another Instagram user wrote: "Guys, there's straight up no science to back this. Believe me, I've looked (I've always had a double chin) Save your money." While others are comparing it to Hannibal Lecter as well as The Handmaids Tale and slamming the "disturbing" product to pressuring women to conform to these beauty standards. For more stories like this subscribe to our weekly newsletter, The Weekly Gulp, for a curated roundup of trending stories, poignant interviews, and viral lifestyle picks from The Mirror's Audience U35 team delivered straight to your inbox. ‌ One of the unique selling points of the product is the collagen yarn, and according to Olga Skydan, dermatologist and member of the Medical Expert Board at the face yoga app Luvly, the term sounds scientific, but it's "largely a marketing ploy". She told The Mirror: "Collagen yarn refers to textile fibres infused with collagen peptides derived from fish or bovine sources. In some garments, these are used for moisturizing or skin-conditioning benefits. But the thing is, collagen molecules are far too large to penetrate intact through the skin barrier, and certainly too large to do so via a garment." She highlighted that it can't help promise a snatched face and compared it to a Gua Sha. She said: "Gua sha, at least, is based on traditional massage techniques that stimulate lymphatic drainage and blood flow. On the other hand, the SKIMS face wrap does something similar, but in a compressive way. It can temporarily reduce puffiness, just as sleeping in an upright position can. But make no mistake, there's no rejuvenation happening here." ‌ The expert also notes concern over the wording used for the product. The product is called 'Seamless Sculpt" and Olga said 'sculpted,' and other similar adjectives, "feeds into an already dangerous obsession with facial perfection and symmetry among women" and added: "The implication is that natural softness or aging is something to be concealed or fixed. And the fact that the solution is marketed as something you can wear at home while multitasking suggests that we should always be optimizing ourselves, even during rest." here are a lot of effective, non-invasive options out there, according to the expert. For example, professional-grade radiofrequency and ultrasound can stimulate collagen and elastin and at-home products such as retinoids and peptides can help improve skin density over time. ‌ As well as lifestyle habits like a consistent use of SPF, a protein-rich diet, adequate hydration, and quality sleep still form the foundation of skin health.
