Kingdom actor Vijay Deverakonda reveals a crucial update about his next with Rahul Sankrityan

Vijay Deverakonda is currently on cloud nine, after his Telugu film Kingdom, which released on July 31, 2025, opened to record collections worldwide. Directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, the action drama has brought Vijay back in the limelight after facing a series of setbacks in recent years. Vijay Deverakonda's next is a period drama He is now all set to kick-start his next film, directed by Rahul Sankrityan, who previously made Taxiwala with Vijay and Shyam Singha Roy with Nani. During the success celebrations of Kingdom, Vijay spoke about the period film. 'I have already moved on to my next. I'm mentally fixed on the character I play in Rahul's film, which is about the unspoken colonial history of India. We start shooting next week, and I'm excited to play a very strong character in this period drama.' In the past, several period dramas like RRR, Rudramadevi, and Baahubali, now available on OTTplay, have been made in Telugu. However, Vijay believes that his upcoming film will be one of the finest-ever period dramas in Telugu cinema and is set in the Rayalaseema region. Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna to team up yet again The yet-to-be-titled project will be co-produced by Mythri Movie Makers and Bhushan Kumar on a massive scale. Initially, the film was scheduled to go on floors in July 2025, but the shoot was postponed after Vijay contracted dengue just before Kingdom's release. This project is also special as it marks Vijay's reunion with star heroine Rashmika Mandanna, with whom he shares a close off-screen relationship. Vijay is known for his powerful performances in films like Arjun Reddy, Liger, and Pelli Choopulu, all streaming on OTTplay. However, his role in Kingdom is being hailed as his best to date by both critics and audiences alike.

Pawan Kalyan's Hari Hara Veera Mallu OTT Release Preponed? Here's What We Know

Report suggest that the makers are planning an early OTT release. However, an official confirmation is still awaited Pawan Kalyan's latest release period drama Hari Hara Veera Mallu has been getting mixed reviews. Fans are not impressed and it is also not going strong at the box office. Sources suggest that teams are exploring an advanced OTT release—potentially aligning with Independence Day on August 15, 2025. According to 123 Telugu, the makers are considering an earlier digital release and it is likely to stream on August 15, 2025, as an Independence Day special. Official confirmation is still awaited. Earlier, 123 Telugu reported that the film is set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on August 22, 2025, which coincides with Chiranjeevi's birthday. Hari Hara Veera Mallu, starring Pawan Kalyan, has been facing sharp criticism since its release mainly for its patchy VFX. Now, one of the film's directors, Jyothi Krisna, has responded to the backlash and admitted that he knew some visual effects in the film weren't quite up to the mark. It stars Pawan Kalyan as Veera Mallu, Nidhhi Agerwal as Panchami, and Bobby Deol as Aurangzeb. Speaking to ABN in a recent interview, Jyothi said the issues people are pointing out are 'minor". 'Anyone will troll only those who are in the limelight. People only get views when they write about something famous. I do not take any of the negativity to heart. Every single day, I see something negative being written about Hari Hara Veera Mallu. This is not the first time a film has taken this long to produce." He added, 'When they nitpicked, all they could find was that the CGI and VFX were bad in some places. No one could point out the story and screenplay, or say it's boring, or that they can't understand it. There are 4400 shots in the film that required CGI. I knew in my heart that a few shots weren't up to par, but it wasn't something huge. We needed to hold special premieres for which tickets were sold out, and they turned that minor issue into something major." The film reportedly has over 4,400 VFX shots. Despite the criticism, it has done well at the box office, crossing Rs 100 crore in just four days. Over the weekend, an updated version of the film, with some of the bad VFX trimmed or removed, started playing in theatres. Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Affectionately called "Nag-sama," a term reserved for deities and royalty, Nagarjuna's recent role in Kuberaa has resonated deeply. His calm yet commanding presence has solidified his place in the hearts of Japanese fans. Japanese audiences have shown remarkable affection for Telugu cinema in recent years, whether it was Baahubali propelling Prabhas to stardom, or RRR drawing crowds to screenings and inspiring a fan to learn Telugu just to speak with Jr NTR. Now, joining this elite list of Telugu stars adored in Japan is Akkineni Nagarjuna. The actor has found a devoted fan base that affectionately calls him 'Nag-sama.' What does sama mean in Japanese? In Japanese culture, the suffix 'sama' is reserved for deities, royalty, or individuals held in high esteem, a mark of the deep admiration he has earned. Why are fans calling him 'Nag-Sama'? While Nagarjuna has been a towering figure in Telugu cinema for decades, his role in Brahmāstra first introduced him to a global audience. But it was his recent portrayal as Deepak in Kuberaa that seems to have struck a chord with Japanese audiences, who have commended the actor's calm yet commanding presence on screen. @ranpo292 I watched Kuberaa. It was fun! Dhanush is so cute Her way of speaking and facial expressions were both lovely. I fell for was unexpectedly good... So that person is Nagu-sama, huh ~ ! There was something amazing overflowing from it, and the melancholy of old age was irresistible!! @akiyama_0_0 What makes Kuberaa so appealing is the presence of Nagu in this film. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Pierce Brosnan's Wife Lost 120 Pounds - This Is Her Now Undo Usually, my comments would be something like, 'This is what Nag-sama's role in this movie is good at.' The part where you think, 'Deepak Sir is...' It makes you realize that you are seeing it through the characters. The same goes for Aneesh Shetty in Brahmastra.
