Olivia Rodrigo and Cate Blanchett among celebrities spotted at Wimbledon
Each English summer, there is just as much star power in the royal box and stands at Wimbledon as there is on Centre Court. The royal box, which seats about 80 people at the south end of Centre Court, is reserved for members of the royal family and a host of "illustrious guests". The only way to get a seat is to secure a personal invitation from the club chair, Deborah Jevans. Guests are treated to tea, lunch, drinks and extravagant gift bags. As you can guess by the name, there is an open invitation to members of the royal family, but actors, musicians, athletes, heads of government and tennis stars also frequent the spot. "It's so special in the royal box to have those kind of people in there. It definitely adds a bit of pressure, I guess, if you look up and you kind of recognise [them]," British tennis player Emma Raducanu said in an interview after her match. "That's why I try and stay with my eyes on the court as much as possible. "Only after, you kind of look up and take it all in, if they're still there." Here are all the famous faces we have seen during the first week of Wimbledon. On day one of the championships, Princess Beatrice, took her seat in the royal box alongside her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi and mother Sarah, Duchess of York, to witness reigning champion Carlos Alcarez play on Centre Court. Also in the box were English football legend David Beckham and his mother Sandra. Actor Eddie Redmayne, donned in Wimbledon finery, watched the match with his wife Hannah Bagshawe. Jason Isaacs looked far more relaxed seated at Centre Court than the character he recently played in the latest season of White Lotus. Up in the stands, actor Jessica Alba had her 17-year-old daughter, Honor Warren, as her plus one. The honour accorded every reigning ladies' singles champion is that they open Centre Court play on Day two. Recognisable Australians Russell Crowe, Cate Blanchett and Rebel Wilson all watched the match between Barbora Krejčíková and Alexandra Eala. It was a stacked royal box for Carlos Alcaraz and Oliver Tarvet's second-round match on day three. Fresh off her appearance at Glastonbury, singer Olivia Rodrigo took her seat in the royal box in a strawberries-and-cream-coloured dress with her partner, actor Louis Partridge. Sat next to Rodrigo was WWE wrestler-turned-actor John Cena and his wife Shay Shariatzadeh. In front of them was Olympic diver Tom Daley. Musician Dave Grohl, actor Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Nick Jonas were also spotted. Mamma Mia actor Dominic Cooper as well as actress Leslie Mann and her producer husband Judd Apatow were also in attendance. British television presenter and author Bear Grylls swapped his usual survival gear for a suit and sat in the royal box on day four at Centre Court. Actress Celia Imrie took her seat in the front row. Up in the stands, Eve Hewson, an actress and daughter to US frontman Bono, chatted to television presenter Dermot O'Leary. Former Formula 1 star Daniel Ricciardo and comedian Jack Whitehall were also spotted. With nine of the tournament still to come, there is no doubt plenty more royal and famous faces will be spotted in the box and the stands.

‘It's like flying': How Wimbledon keeps grass court tennis alive
The immaculate grass courts at the Wimbledon tennis championships can divide opinion. Some players struggle to find their rhythm on a surface that is unpredictable and unfamiliar. Others revel in it. 'I think the most beautiful tennis that we can watch is on grass,' said Carlos Alcaraz, the reigning men's singles champion, on the eve of this year's tournament. 'The movement is really tough, but when you get it, it's [like] you're flying.'

Nick Kyrgios has stirred the spot about a rumoured 'love triangle' at Wimbledon, while a tennis power couple have reportedly split up for the second time. Raducanu went on to win the 2021 US Open, become the first qualifier in the Open Era to win a grand slam singles title. She has battled to recapture that form since, but the early signs this year at Wimbledon are good. The Brit cruised through to the third round with a comfortable win over 2023 Wimbledon champion Marketa Vondrousova. She'll take on Amanda Anisimova in the third round after the American had a 6-4 6-3 victory over Mexico's Renata Zarazua. It will be the second meeting between the talented pair at a grand slam this year — Raducanu won their second round match at the Australian Open. Kyrgios isn't playing Wimbledon this year as he manages injury but speaking to TalkSPORT, the 2022 finalist joked about a 'love triangle' between Raducanu, Carlos Alcaraz and British No. 1 Jack Draper. 'I don't know, I think it's a love triangle,' Kyrgios joked lightheartedly. 'Draper, Alcaraz, Raducanu. They're fighting over Raducanu I think, I'm not sure.' He went on to praise all three players, who look set to make a deep run at Wimbledon. 'I think (on) the outside (she looks happy), I don't know who's making her happy,' Kyrgios. 'The tennis world loves a love story, they love to try and put two together but Raducanu is number one British female player at the moment, she's doing fairly well. 'Obviously, winning a grand slam at 19 is never easy, it comes with a lot of expectations from the outside world. But, you know, as long as she's happy.' Raducanu was spotted cheering Alcaraz on when he won the grass court tournament at Queens last month. The 22-year-old will team up with Alcaraz to play mixed doubles at the US Open later this year, and she was quizzed about her relationship with the five-time grand slam winner ahead of Wimbledon. 'We're just good friends,' Raducanu smiled in her pre-Wimbledon press conference. The press conference moderator swiftly ended the line of questioning, with Raducanu joking: 'Way to wrap up!' Raducanu appears to relish playing in front of a home crowd and she was all smiles after her second round win. Probably the happiest I've seen Raducanu since the 2021 US Open. — José Morgado (@josemorgado) July 2, 2025 Draper is the World No. 4 on the back of making the US Open semi-finals last year and winning the Indian Wells title in March. The 23-year-old Brit will be out to make it well part the second round, which is best result at the All England Club, and challenge for the title. 'I think Jack Draper is going to contend for grand slams and Wimbledon is probably his best chance to do that,' Kyrgios said. 'Having that home crowd is special. It's like playing in their own background.' Power couple split up The news isn't as happy for Stefanos Tsitsipas and Paula Badosa, with reports the tennis power couple have broken up again. Badosa lost in the first round at Wimbledon to Katie Boulter, while Stefanos Tsitsipas retired hurt while trailing France's Valentin Royer 6-3 6-2 in the first round. Spanish publication HOLA Magazine reports the couple, who were due to play the US Open mixed doubles together, have split up. Tsistipas and Badosa were in a relationship from for a year from May 2023, before announcing they were parting ways. They got back together weeks later and had shared plenty of insights into their relationship on social media, but it seems Tsitsipas and Badosa have split once more. The 26-year-old Greek player said he may have to contemplate retiring from tennis as he struggles with an ongoing back injury. 'I don't know what to do', Tsitsipas said after the match. 'I feel like I'm left without answers. I don't know. I've tried everything. I've done an incredible job with my fitness. I've done an incredible job with my physiotherapy, so I've maximised on everything that I possibly can do. 'Right now, I'm just absolutely left with no answers. I don't know what to do.'
