CBB fans unearth Chesney Hawkes' past appearance and question why it hasn't been mentioned
Fans of Celebrity Big Brother have been left flabbergasted after a video of Chesney Hawkes on the show 16 years ago resurfaced. A TikTok user took to the social media platform to share a clip of the singer appearing on the hit show in 2009.
In the clip, the One and Only singer, now 53, is seen appearing over the fence at the famous house. As celebrities took part in a challenge, a number dressed up as paparazzi. Among those disguised as press were Tina Malone and Lucy Pinder.
A Chesney shrine was set up in the living room for the task, with Terry Christian and Mutya Buena needing to worship it. They then prepared for a 'what would Chesney do' quiz.
While they questioned the answers, the singer's hit tune blasted throughout the house, causing the celebrities to dance. As others prepared for a dance in the garden, one gasped: "Oh, quick, celebrity" to make sure those set up as paparazzi could grab an image.
The group squealed with excitement as Chesney waved down from above and shouted hello. They then started serenading the singer with his own tune as he smiled down on them. "Chesney, smile," shouted Tina before they started clapping to the beat of his tune. "Chesney, I wet myself when I saw you" Tina then exclaimed to the laughter of fellow housemates.
Fans quickly questioned why more hasn't been made of his past experience during this year's contest. One user gasped: "WHY HAS THIS NOT BEEN MENTIONED!"
Another added: "I watch this celebrity Big brother and I don't remember this. what the heck?," while a third said: "I remember this why had [sic] this not been rehashed while he's in the house !!"
A fourth also confessed: "I'm surprised he hasn't mentioned this," while another said: "I've been waiting for this to be mentioned."
Chesney is currently in the final of this years competition, with the winner to be revealed tonight (Friday, April 25).
While he has been a favourite on the show, the musician was close to tears after the recent round of face-to-face nominations. During the brutal task, Ella Rae Wise called out his behaviour when around Mickey Rourke.
Ella chose to nominate singer Chesney, claiming he was in the same environment as Mickey Rourke when he made a lewd sexual comment towards her. She added that she believed Chesney should have defended her in the situation. The outburst left him taken aback and emotional.
During a conversation with JoJo Siwa, he Ella's reasoning was given in a "bad tone." He said: "It was pretty mean," as JoJo believed the reality star was "trying to get a rise" from Chesney.
Chesney continued: "She was upset and she was angry and she kind of took it out on me, unfairly, I would say. I think the comment she made about me was the harshest one in that room to be honest. She questioned my being a man and not standing up for her."

It's all in an attempt to wake up in the morning with the best skin possible. Skincare expert Laura Porter tells the BBC the face wrap is being marketed to Gen Z and younger millennials. Skims' marketing campaigns typically feature models in their 20s, and are often are endorsed by celebrities like Kylie Jenner, who has a young fan base and leverages social media trends."The branding and tone of messaging signal it is directed toward women who follow beauty trends and influencer culture," Porter brand works with beauty influencers to promote its products, and on TikTok some influencers are claiming the new face wrap gives them instant results."The way this face wrap has elevated my morning shed is crazy, my jawline has never been this snatched," one young beauty influencer said in a video. But medical professionals say there is no science behind the snug-fitting Anna Andrienko, an aesthetic doctor specialising in cosmetic procedures, tells the BBC that while these garments "may offer some temporary sculpting or de-puffing effects due to pressure and heat retention," the results are far from permanent."These face wraps do not deliver lasting contouring or skin-tightening results," she explains. "At best, they can reduce fluid retention short term. At worst, overuse may lead to skin irritation, breakouts, or circulation issues if worn too tightly or for prolonged periods."Dr Andrienko also dismisses the product's reference to "being infused with collagen yarns".Collagen is a protein vital to skin elasticity and firmness, but there's little evidence that fabric containing collagen can deliver measurable benefits. 'Chip away at self-esteem' But it's not just the medical efficacy that's raising questions. Critics argue products like these are fuelling harmful beauty ideals, reinforcing insecurities and sending the message that even your sleep needs to be optimised for aesthetic says products like these can impact body image, particularly among younger consumers."When we start targeting areas like the chin or jawline with compression wraps, it sends a message that even natural, structurally normal features need fixing," she says. She is concerned consumers buying the product believe they will have the same face as Kim Kardashian if they wear the wrap."That's not true because she went to expensive facialists and beauty technicians to get her face and jawline, not because of a piece of material," she product's launch this week has caused a stir - on Skims' Instagram post for the face wrap, one person asked if it was an April Fools' joke, while another said they couldn't tell if the brand was trolling customers. Several people said the product is contributing to "bad self-esteem among young people". The BBC has contacted Skims for comment. Some people also jokingly compared it to Silence of the Lambs' villain Hannibal Lecter's restraint Hopkins, who played Lecter in the 1991 film, resurrected his character, and posted a video mocking the headwrap. "Hello Kim, I'm already feeling 10 years younger," he said in the clip. 'Look beyond buzzwords' Porter says many "morning shedding" rituals online have "tipped into the realm of performative beauty".While it may have started as genuine self-care, it's not become about "aesthetic perfection, rather than realistic or sustainable skincare"."Many trends may look impressive online, but they often prioritise visual trends over evidence-based practices."Mouth taping, another trend that's part of the "morning shed" routine, claims to improve sleep quality, facial symmetry and even jaw while it's framed as a wellness hack, medical professionals have raised concerns as restricting mouth breathing can be dangerous for people with sleep apnoea or undiagnosed respiratory pharmaceuticals, most cosmetic products, including those with sculpting claims can fall into a regulatory grey gives brands leeway to imply benefits through marketing language, user testimonials, and influencer content, rather than make direct claims that would require scientific recommends that people "look beyond buzzwords" and seek out objective perspectives, rather than influencer promotions."Be wary of exaggerated promises such as "instant lift," "snatched," or "face sculpted overnight," which often prioritise marketing over science, she adds.

The Starlight Heir by Amalie Howard "Amalie Howard wrote one of my favourite regency romances, The Beast of Beswick, so when she announced a romantasy inspired by Persian and Indian mythology, I said gimme! The Starlight Heir follows Suraya Saab, a bladesmith with dreams bigger than her small forge. When she receives an invitation to participate in a set of trials to become the prince's bride, she sees it as a chance at adventure. The only issue is the prince isn't actually looking for a bride, he's looking for the Starkeeper, a girl with the magic of stars in her blood. "Amalie manages to weave a fast-paced plot with a slow burn romance that leaves you breathless and yearning for more. If you are looking for something familiar and fantastical, this one is for you!" 5. For Ever by Jenny Hickman "Jenny Hickman is in her cosy fantasy era and I am obsessed. For Ever is about a young woman named Kerris who is on the hunt for a husband, but most importantly, love. "She has no lack of potential suitors—among them, the Prince of Rosehill—but all of these handsome Seelie men are sidelined when Kerris lays eyes on Everett Gathin, a brutally sweet Unseelie warrior.
