John Deere Classic live leaderboard updates for Friday's second round at TPC Deere Run
The 2025 John Deere Classic heads to the second round in Silvis, Illinois. The par-71 course at TPC Deere Run will play at 7,289 yards and the tournament includes a purse of $8.4 million.
Doug Ghim jumped on the course early, posting a 62 to take a one-shot lead after 18 holes. Max Homa and Austin Eckroat are a shot back. For Homa, his 63 is his best first-round score on the PGA Tour.

John Deere Classic featured groups for Friday
Defending champ Davis Thompson is playing the first two days with Lucas Glover and Jason Day. They are on the 10th tee Friday at 8:29 a.m. ET.
Local favorite Zach Johnson is on the 10th tee with Joe Highsmith and Brian Campbell, a pair of PGA Tour winners in 2025, at 8:51 a.m. ET.
The Rickie Fowler, Max Homa and Jake Knapp trio hit the course at 2 p.m. ET off the first tee.

He gave a fair, but blunt, assessment of Abel after his roughest outing of his MLB career thus far. "He was kind of missing all over the place," Realmuto told Matt Gelb of The Athletic. "It's not easy. I mean, there's a lot of pressure in that situation." Abel couldn't command his pitches in his last outing. He walked one batter in the first inning, but walked four in the second, including three in a row to load the bases and walk in two runs. He then gave up a double, which put the Phillies in a 5-0 hole early, and ended his day after going just 1.2 innings. It was the worst start of his brief MLB tenure so far. "He's done a great job for us," Realmuto said. "That's just part of the growing pains of being a young pitcher." The 23-year-old has a 5.04 ERA and a 202 record through his first six starts in the big leagues. It's been an up-and-down beginning of his career thus far, but he's shown flashes, enough to warrant more time invested in him. But, even with a strong rotation, one of the pitchers has been struggling lately. Ahead of their Fourth of July weekend series against the Cincinnati Reds, the team made a roster move. Advertisement The Phillies announced that they have optioned starting pitcher Mick Abel down to Triple-A and brought up Seth Johnson to the Major League roster. Abel started strong but now heads back to the minor leagues after a rough stretch of starts. In his latest outing, he couldn't complete two innings. In his sixth game in the Majors, Abel went just 1.2 innings, allowing five earned runs against the San Diego Padres. He also gave up five walks and two hits, while striking out three. That was his worst start in the Majors, and one of his worst this season overall. He started hot, going six shutout innings in a pitchers' duel against Paul Skenes. He went two innings against the Padres, striking out two and not allowing a baserunner in his best outing in the Majors. The 26-year-old Johnson takes the 23-year-old Abel's place on the roster. It's a tough blow to the Phillies, as initially, Abel looked to be another star in the rotation. After this roster move from the Phillies, Abel will look to rekindle what he displayed at the beginning of his MLB career. After a strong start, Abel struggled and now needs a reset in the minor leagues.
