Kate dazzles in dark red silk at state banquet return
The future queen joined the King, Queen Camilla and the Prince of Wales and some 160 guests including Sir Mick Jagger and Sir Elton John in Windsor Castle's impressive St George's Hall.

Kate, who was diagnosed with cancer in 2024 and confirmed she was free from the disease at the start of this year, last made an appearance at a grand royal dinner 20 months ago in November 2023 in honour of the South Korean president.
Her gathered evening gown featured caped back detailing.
The princess, with her hair down, was also wearing her favourite Lover's Knot tiara – a piece much loved by Diana, Princess of Wales.
Kate and her husband William were pictured smiling and gazing at each other as they arrived together, walking side by side before the banquet at the castle.
She carried a lily of the valley embroidered evening clutch and wore the Rosette of Grand Officier l'ordre nationale du merite, the Royal Family Orders of Charles III and Elizabeth II, the Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order and GCVO sash and star.
Kate was earlier shown smiling in the gardens of Windsor with William before the event, with Kensington Palace's social media declaring: 'Ready for what promises to be a wonderful State Banquet this evening in Windsor.'
The prince was dressed in white tie, with the Most Noble Order of the Garter Sash with the Lesser George, miniature medals and a series of chest orders.
Last week, the princess opened up about her 'rollercoaster' cancer recovery, its life-changing impact and putting on a 'brave face' during a visit to Colchester Hospital.
She was seated next to President Macron and the pair chatted ahead of the start of the King's toast, while on her other side was art historian Christophe Leribault, chairman of the Musee D'Orsay.

Kate studied history of art at university.
Camilla, meanwhile, was dressed in an ivory silk and crepe embroidered evening gown by Fiona Clare, and a sapphire and diamond tiara, necklace, earrings and bracelet, all part of Queen Elizabeth II's sapphire suite.
The Queen was also wearing the Legion d'Honneur French sash, Garter Star and the King's family order.
Mrs Macron wore a vivid blue caped evening gown with gold epaulettes-style detail on the shoulder.
It was both William and Kate's first time at a Windsor Castle banquet, with the last one being staged there 11 years ago for the Irish President Michael D Higgins in 2014.
Earlier, Kate carried out royal duties as the first French state visit to the UK for 17 years began, accompanying the Macrons to Windsor with William, taking part in the carriage ride, the ceremonial welcome, the royal luncheon and Royal Collection exhibition.
The princess had already embraced French fashion, choosing Christian Dior for her daytime engagements.
Her blush pink Dior jacket was the 30 Montaigne Rose Des Vents Bar Jacket and a piece from the 2024 collection, and Kate paired it with a tulle skirt.

Kate's sleek hat was by Jess Collett.
The princess was charmed with a kiss to the hand by Mr Macron as she and William met the French leader as he disembarked from his plane at RAF Northolt.
Mr Macron took the princess's hand and leaned forward to deliver an air kiss towards it.

Prince William 'goes into dad mode' as he issues order to Prince Louis
In a new Channel 5 documentary, a forensic lip reader weighed in on a sweet family moment captured at Trooping the Colour, one that saw William go into "dad mode" Prince William went into "dad mode" as he issued an instruction to his children at the King's official birthday celebrations, it has been claimed. In a new Channel 5 documentary, Lip-Reading The Royals: The Secret Conversations, which aired last night, a forensic lip reader weighed in on a sweet family moment captured at Trooping the Colour last year. On Saturday, June 14, the Prince and Princess of Wales and their three children, Princes George and Louis and Princess Charlotte, joined King Charles and Queen Camilla on the Buckingham Palace balcony to watch a flypast by the Red Arrows. However, Lip reader Nicola Hickling detailed how last year, William issued a fatherly instruction to his children as they watched the spectacle. Yet, it seems that George was struck by something a bit closer to Earth. According to Nicola, William tells his children: "Eyes up to the sky." After this, all three of them look up, and then George turns to his father and says: "The crowd is so loud." She added that a gesture made by Louis was him telling his family that he'd seen a propeller, with George responding by asking: "Where?" Afterwards, Kate asked her youngest: 'Wow, did you enjoy that?" Cristo Foufas, a royal analyst, said: "Kate and William immediately go into mum and dad mode then. 'Can you see it? Oh, they're coming around again', you know, 'Did you enjoy it?' All of those sorts of things they're saying to make it a special moment for their children." He claimed that the couple must have seen a "million flypasts" and that the displays were likely as "dull as ditch water" to them by now, but William and Kate weren't "letting that get to them". Cristo added that the future King and Queen were "making themselves enthusiastic" about it and attempting to make the proceedings "really special" for their children. Trooping the Colour has marked the official birthday of the UK sovereign for more than 260 years. Each year, more than 1,400 parading soldiers, 200 horses and 400 musicians unite for the proceedings. During this year's event, which featured the usual pageantry, Charles and Camilla rode in a carriage as part of a military procession down the Mall and into Horse Guards Parade, reports the BBC. At the request of Charles, the Royals wore black armbands as a mark of respect to the victims of the Air India crash, which tragically led to the deaths of 241 passengers and crew and at least eight people on the ground. For 2025, the Red Arrows used a greener fuel, which included a sustainable aviation fuel and a biofuel that delivered the iconic trail. The broadcaster also suggested that this would have likely gone down well with Charles, a passionate environmental advocate.

Re-enactment of Last Invasion to be played out in Goodwick
A re-enactment of the Last Invasion of Britain will take place this weekend in the seaside village of Goodwick. The event commemorates the 228th anniversary of the failed invasion by French troops, thwarted by local yeomanry and Fishguard cobbler Jemima Nicholas and her army of women. (Image: HMS Wales) The two day celebration of the last invasion has been independently organised by town councillors Adrian Tyrrell, Alex Allison and county councillor Nicola Gwynn. The two-day event will involve a military re-enactment camp at the Phoenix Centre, horse displays, a skirmish on Goodwick Sands, the French surrender, treaty signing in the Royal Oak, entertainment and historical talks. The re-enactment will feature HMS Wales, a navy re-enactment group; The First of the First Grenadiers; the Welsh Horse Yeomanry, Enniscorthy Historical re-enactment Society and the local Jemima's Army. There will also be an appearance by the horses from the Dyfed-Shire Horse Farm. (Image: Alamy Stock Photo) 'People are hearing about it and asking how they can be involved,' said Adrian. 'The re-enactment on the beach will take about half an hour and will involve all the groups as well as an eight-pound cannon and the cavalry and their horses. 'The Pembroke Yeomanry will take the surrender on the beach before the action is transported up to Fishguard.' A around 3.50pm all the actors will parade from the Golden Mile to Fishguard Square before the peace treaty is signed in the Royal Oak. There will be a talk about the history of the Last Invasion at 5.30pm on both days followed by music from Fishguard Male Voice Choir and Goodwick Brass Band. The event is free to attend and takes place over two days it has been funded by the shared prosperity fund and Noth Pembrokeshire Chamber of Trade and Tourism. The First Minster will be attending on Saturday with the Deputy Lord Lieutenant for Dyfed coming on Sunday. Fishguard's famous Last Invasion Tapestry will also be open on both Saturday and Sunday afternoon. There are plans to build on this month's event and make it an annual occurrence, building up to the 130th anniversary in 2027. 'Everybody I have spoken to is so enthusiastic,' said Adrian. 'It not a special anniversary but it doesn't matter. It's about the locals and visitors coming down, seeing what's going on and having a really good time.'
