Ranveer Allahbadia deletes post for ‘Pakistani brothers' after massive backlash
Shared on his Instagram handle @beerbiceps, the post consisted of multiple slides of text wherein Ranveer Allahbadia highlighted three pieces of evidence pointing to Pakistan's involvement in the Pahalgam terror attack. He then blamed the media of the two countries for spreading hate and misinformation.
Allahbadia acknowledged that he would get hate from India for the post right at the outset, but shared it on Instagram anyway. Here is the full text of his now-deleted post.
'Dear Pakistani Brothers & Sisters, I will get hate from many Indians for this, but it is important to be said. Just like many Indians, I don't have hate in my heart for you. Many of us want peace as well.
'Whenever we meet Pakistanis, you invariably welcome us with love. But… your country is not run by a government. It is run by your military and your secret service (The ISI). The average Pakistani is VERY different than these 2 bodies. The average Pakistani has dreams of peace & prosperity in their hearts. These 2 villains have hurt your economy since independence. The post caused massive outrage on social media. It has now been taken down, but screenshots are still circulating on social media.
People criticised the podcast host for his 'sympathetic' stance towards Pakistan and called his words an insult to the armed forces of India.
'His immature and callous behavior is unacceptable. He should be reminded that his opinions aren't always needed. Authorities should investigate him and other Mumbai celebrities for,' wrote one X user.
'Shameful. Ranveer Allahbadia aka Beer Biceps openly supports Pakistanis — then quietly deletes his posts after backlash. This is what happens when we blindly support the wrong influencers and make them viral,' another wrote.

"Bring Him Back": Indian Family's Urgent Appeal After Son's Kidnapping In Niger
The family of Ranjit Singh, an Indian national kidnapped in Niger's Dosso region, is pleading for the government's help to bring him back home safely. Ranjit Singh, a resident of Jammu and Kashmir's Ramban district, was working at a construction site when unidentified gunmen attacked, killing two Indians and abducting him. Located in the remote village of Chakka Kundi in Ramban, the family of Ranjit Singh sat shrouded unaware of his whereabouts. Ranjit Singh's father, Mohan Lal Sen, is urging the Government of India to take immediate action to secure his son's release, expressing concern for his well-being and safety. In an exclusive interview to ANI, father of Ranjit Singh, Mohan Lal Sen, said, "We want to tell Modiji to act on it, Government of India should work to bring him back. We have been suffering from the last 5-6 days. He has little children. We are very worried about him- where is he abducted, has he eaten anything or not". His mother, Sadhu Devi, is distraught, hasn't slept or eaten since the incident, and is desperate to see her son return home. The grieving mother, Sadhu Devi told ANI, "Please bring my son back. I want him back. I haven't slept in nights or eaten anything. When will my son come back?" Tears rolling down her face, she said, "We are very worried about his whereabouts. He has three small children, they are also worried. We want our son to come back home safe and sound." In a heinous terror attack, two Indians were killed while one was abducted in the Dosso region of Niger, as noted by the Indian Embassy in Niger. The Indian Embassy in Niamey is in touch with the local authorities to repatriate the bodies of those killed and ensure safe release of the abducted Indian. The mission also cautioned all Indians in Niger to remain vigilant. Arab News reported citing local sources that unidentified armed attackers ambushed a Nigerien army unit providing security at a construction site for an electrical line in the Dosso region, around 100 kilometres (63 miles) from the capital city of Niamey. Previously in March, Niger had seen a terrorist attack by the Islamic State in Great Sahara in Kokorou, which had resulted in the deaths of at least 44 civilians and had left 13 severely injured, as reported by UN Security Council Press. US State Department's 2023 Country Report on Terrorism for Niger had observed, that terrorist organizations exploited Niger's extensive borderlands and sparsely populated regions to attack and recruit among populations where access to government services was weak and economic opportunity negligible. Due to the small size of its "defence force, ineffective coordination among security services, budget shortfalls, and instability in Burkina Faso, Libya, Mali, Nigeria, and the Lake Chad Basin", Niger's efforts to fight terrorism were hampered. Niger is in the midst of a political upheaval as a military coup has taken control, ousting the democratically elected President. Niger has been facing a severe security crisis due to jihadist insurgencies linked to Al-Qaida and the Islamic State, exacerbated by a military coup in July 2023. In July, 2023 President Mohamed Bazoum was detained by the Presidential Guard and General Abdourahamane Tchiani declared himself the new leader. This event led to widespread international condemnation. The Niger coup is the seventh such event in West and Central Africa since 2020, highlighting a concerning trend of military interventions in the region. Russia sanctions: EU restrictions on Russian oil could hit India's $15 billion fuel exports; 'will have to walk a fine line…'
Russian oil sanctions by the European Union could dent India's $15 billion fuel exports, the Global Trade Research Initiative (GTRI) has warned. The EU's 27 member states have introduced their 18th sanctions package against Russia, primarily targeting the oil and energy sector revenues. India imports crude oil from Russia in a big way and then exports it globally. How India's $15 billion Oil Exports Will Be Hit The European Union's latest sanctions will adversely affect countries including India, Turkey, and the UAE, which process Russian crude oil to produce and export diesel, petrol, and jet fuel to European markets. "India's $5 billion exports of petroleum products to the EU are at risk. The EU's new sanctions ban imports of refined petroleum made from Russian crude via third countries like India," GTRI Founder Ajay Srivastava said according to a PTI report. GTRI's assessment indicates that the new restrictions affect refined petroleum products from third countries using Russian crude, with exemptions granted to only a handful of nations including the US, UK, Canada, and Switzerland. The think tank reports that whilst India's petroleum product exports to the EU stood at $19.2 billion in FY24, then declined significantly by 27.1% to $15 billion in 2024-25. India's crude oil imports from Russia were around $50.3 billion in FY2025. This is more than one-third of India's total crude expenditure of $143.1 billion. "Although India continues to engage in legitimate trade with Russia, the political optics of such transactions are shifting in Western capitals. As energy ties deepen, India will have to walk a fine line between economic pragmatism and geopolitical pressure," Srivastava said. Nayara Energy and Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) are expected to encounter challenges due to the European Union's latest sanctions against Russian oil. The EU has lowered the Russian oil price cap from $60 to $47.6 per barrel and introduced restrictions on vessels transporting Russian oil. These measures will become effective September 3. According to an ET report, whilst Nayara Energy faces direct operational constraints from EU's targeted sanctions, RIL must navigate complications arising from restrictions on fuel products derived from Russian oil. Industry specialists and analysts suggest that both companies risk being shut out of European markets. These sanctions also complicate Rosneft's reported plans to divest its 49% stake in Nayara. As India's principal fuel exporters, both RIL and Nayara stand significantly affected by these developments. US President Donald Trump has warned that nations buying Russian exports could face penalties or heavy tariffs if Russia does not achieve peace with Ukraine within 50 days. Oil Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has rejected concerns about possible consequences for India if Russian oil access becomes restricted through additional tariffs. "I'm not worried at all. If something happens, we'll deal with it," Puri has said. "India has diversified the sources of supply and we have gone, I think, from about 27 countries that we used to buy from to about 40 countries now," he said. Also Read |
