Norman Powell, John Collins dealt in three-team NBA trade
Scoring guard Norman Powell is being sent to Miami after a strong season with the Clippers, John Collins is being routed to Los Angeles from Utah, and the Jazz snagged Kevin Love, Kyle Anderson and a 2027 second-round pick, ESPN reported.
The extra scoring punch for the Heat comes at a time when the team is embroiled in contract negotiations with star Tyler Herro, who is extension-eligible with an expiring contract in 2027.

Powell came in fourth in Sixth Man of the Year voting in 2024 and averaged a career-high 21.8 points per game last season while starting in all seven playoff games for the Clippers this postseason.
The Clippers get back Collins, who is a stretch big on an expiring contract.
Collins, while talented, has had a tough time staying healthy despite putting up solid points per game totals.

In 40 games, Collins averaged 19 points per game wth 8.2 rebounds, while shooting 39.9 percent from 3.
Los Angeles could theoretically have a starting lineup of James Harden, Kawhi Leonard, Ivica Zubac, Kris Dunn and Collins.
Love, 36, played in just 23 games last season for the Heat, primarily serving as a bench player, with an average of 11 minutes per game.

It would appear he was added into the deal in part because of his contract matching salaries to facilitate the deal.
'Never thought I'd be a math problem,' Love said in a post on X. 'Welcome to the NBA.'

Meanwhile, Anderson had a tough time getting his footing last season after strong seasons with the Grizzlies and Timberwolves earlier in his career.
Anderson will now go on to his third team in the last calendar year after he agreed to a three-year contract with the Warriors last offseason worth $27.6 million.

LeBron James to Mavericks Trade Report Surfaces From His Former Teammate
LeBron James to Mavericks Trade Report Surfaces From His Former Teammate originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James exercised his $52.6 million player option for the 2025-26 NBA season. Bypassing the ability to enter free agency, James instead chose to remain under contract with the Lakers. That said, his future is anything but certain. Advertisement Following James' decision to opt-in, his longtime agent Rich Paul released a statement to ESPN that seemingly placed the possibility of a trade on the table. "LeBron wants to compete for a championship," Paul said to ESPN. "He knows the Lakers are building for the future. ... We understand the difficulty in winning now while preparing for the future. We do want to evaluate what's best for LeBron at this stage in his life and career." Several teams were floated as potential James suitors, including the Dallas Mavericks. In addition to No. 1 overall pick Cooper Flagg, Dallas has two star players James won a championship alongside: Kyrie Irving and Anthony Davis. Advertisement During an episode of The Hoop Collective podcast, ESPN's Tim MacMahon reported Dallas had come up in speculation as a potential James trade destination. Just days after this report, the James to Dallas rumors received a new wrinkle from one of his former teammates. In the latest episode of his Pat Bev Podcast, former Lakers guard Patrick Beverley urged his co-host Adam "Rone" Ferrone to tell the audience something pertaining to the James-Mavericks rumors. "We got a text from Pat. He said, 'I might have big news.' ... several days ago," Rone said. Beverley responded, "When did the Dallas [expletive] come out about Bron? ... I heard through a grapevine... that Bron was coming to Dallas. That's what I heard. I told you that. I don't know if it's true or not. But LeBron to Dallas. I'm hearing a lot of rumbles." Advertisement While Beverley revealed this is what he has been hearing, he ultimately guessed James will not be traded. The two played together on the Lakers during the 2022-23 season. Suns' Khaman Maluach Reveals Devin Booker's Message to Him During 2024 Olympics
Suns' Khaman Maluach Reveals Devin Booker's Message to Him During 2024 Olympics originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Phoenix Suns have been one of the most active teams during this offseason. Owner Mat Ishbia clearly was displeased watching his team go 36-46 with the highest payroll in the history of the NBA and began making massive changes immediately. The day after the regular season ended, Ishbia fired head coach Mike Budenholzer despite having four years and $40 million left on his contract. Advertisement That proved to be just the first of many significant changes, as shortly after, Ishbia moved James Jones, who had held the position of general manager since 2019, into an advisory position to install Brian Gregory at the position. Gregory and Ishbia's relationship goes back to Michigan State where Ishbia was a player and Gregory an assistant coach. Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports Suns' Khaman Maluach reveals Devin Booker's message to him during 2024 Olympics With Gregory at the helm of the front office, he went to work and executed a trade that many believed had been in the works for a long time. He sent Kevin Durant to the Houston Rockets in exchange for Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks, the No. 10 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft and five second-round picks as part of a now-historic seven-team deal. Advertisement With the No. 10 pick, the Suns used it to bolster their frontcourt and selected Duke center Khaman Maluach. After being drafted by the Suns, Maluach shared an exchange he had with star guard Devin Booker the year before at the Olympics. "I'm so excited to play with [Booker] now," Maluach said. "Because I remember one night in Paris, I met him at dinner and he was sitting at the other table and I told my agent I want to go say what's up to him. "I shake his hand and he was like 'see you in a year.' I thought he was saying see you in a year in the NBA and now we're going to be on the same team." Advertisement Maluach's high motor and defensive ability were one of the reasons for Duke's success last season. He's bursting with potential both offensively and defensively, as many believe he can develop into a decent shooter at the next level and stretch the floor. Fortunately for Maluach, the pressure likely won't be on him right away, as the team worked a deal later on draft night with the Charlotte Hornets for center Mark Williams. They'll likely look to bring Maluach along slowly while getting the most they can out of Williams in an attempt to compete right away. Details on Adou Thiero's rookie contract with the Lakers
During the second round of last month's NBA draft, the Los Angeles Lakers turned the No. 55 pick into the draft rights to University of Arkansas forward Adou Thiero by making two trades. Thiero's offensive game is a work in progress, but he has the athleticism and defensive ability to help them very soon. At 6-foot-8, he's the type of athletic wing the Lakers haven't had in quite some time. He officially signed his Lakers contract on Sunday, and fans are looking forward to seeing him play in a Purple and Gold jersey. Advertisement According to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, Thiero's contract is for three years and $5.95 million. The third year of the deal is a player option. Thiero, who was the No. 36 pick in the draft, averaged 15.1 points and 5.8 rebounds a game while shooting 54.5% from the field and 25.6% from 3-point range this past season. He will not participate in summer league play because of a knee injury he suffered a few months ago.
