Who is Khaby Lame, popular TikTok star detained in the US?
T
he world of TikTok is not just a social media sphere; it has changed the lives of many for the better, and among them, on the top, is the world's most followed TikTok star, Khaby Lame.
Khaby 'Khabane' Lame is a Senegalese-born Italian social media influencer, popularly known as the world's most-followed TikToker. With over 162 million followers on TikTok, the 25-year-old first became popular during COVID when he posted videos of himself silently reacting to overly complicated "life-hack" videos.
While his videos get him much traction, recently he has been in the news for being detained by US immigration authorities for overstaying his visa, as per an official statement by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
He was taken into custody at the Harry Reid International Airport in Paradise, Nevada, on June 6.

Khaby Lame was born on March 9, 2000, in Senegal but moved to Italy with his family when he was around one year old.
Before beginning his highly successful social media career, he worked as a CNC machine operator in a factory but was laid off during the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020.
This was when he pushed forward into the world of social media with a format that people instantly fell in love with. He would mimic popular life hacks, then perform them simply and end the video with his now-iconic expression: palms up, wide-eyed, silent sarcasm.
In just two years he had surpassed both Gianluca Vacchi and Charlie D'Amelio to become the most followed TikTok creator.
Over the years, he has partnered with brands such as Hugo Boss, Fortnite, Sony Pictures and Walmart.
Additionally, he was a juror for TikTok shorts at Cannes 2022, a judge on Italia's Got Talent in 2023, made a cameo in Bad Boys: Ride or Die in 2024 and attended the Met Gala in 2025. He was appointed as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador in 2025, focusing on youth and children's rights in Africa.
According to Bosshunting.com, Lame has an estimated net worth of $20 million. He was also named in Fortune's 40 Under 40 and Forbes' 30 Under 30.

World's Most Expensive Labubu Doll Sold For 125 Times Its Original Price
A rare Labubu has been sold for a whopping Rs 9.15 lakh ($10,500), making it the most expensive Labubu doll to be sold. The grey-brownish doll, wearing Vans streetwear and a blue and orange hat reading 'The Monsters', was sold on the e-commerce platform eBay. According to a report in New York Post, the viral ugly-cute toy, riding the skateboard, came out in 2023 as one of Pop Mart's wildly popular blind boxes, as a collaboration between the shoe brand and Labubu. Interestingly, the doll was being sold at the retail price of Rs 7,400 ($85) at the time of its release. However, after the Labubu trend gained pace online, the same doll has now been purchased for Rs 9.15 lakh -- making its resale value 125 times more than the original price. Notably, Pop Mart sells Labubus for Rs 1,744 ($20) to Rs 3,488 ($40) in 'blind boxes' which means buyers do not know which one they will get until they open it. $Labubu limited edition collab with @Vans JB2wezZLdzWfnaCfHxLg193RS3Rh51ThiXxEDWQDpump — DegenJuice 🧃 (@DegenJuice_) June 9, 2025 What are Labubu dolls? Labubu dolls are plush toys and figurines based on a character from the book series The Monsters created by Hong Kong-born artist Kasing Lung. Inspired by Nordic fairy tales, the tiny elf creature's popularity surged when Lisa from the K-pop girl group Blackpink was seen with one. What followed was a frenzy of celebrities flaunting the doll, including Kim Kardashian, Rihanna, Dua Lipa, and more. The popularity of the doll has made creator Pop Mart CEO, Wang Ning, the 10th richest man in China and the youngest member of the country's wealthiest, which includes TikTok founder Zhang Yiming, CEO of Xiaomi Lei Jun and founder of Nongfu Spring, Zhong Shansha. The popularity of the dolls resulted in controversy when they were linked to the ancient demon Pazuzu -- a Mesopotamian demon, with conspiracy theories claiming that the dolls carry "demonic energy". Pop Mart did not publicly address the claims but posted a mock "recall notice" on April Fools' Day, joking about supernatural activity surrounding the dolls.

K-Pop Drama: When Recycled Posts Fuel Fan Outrage in Scandal Season
MADEIN K-Pop brings the vibes with its upbeat tracks, killer dances, and that super glossy appeal that hooks you right in. But hey, not everything's perfect-sometimes the drama behind the scenes steals the show in the worst way. Take MADEIN, this cool multinational girl group that's been lighting up charts since their debut. Lately, they've landed in hot water by recycling an old blog post smack in the middle of a messy member exit tied to some dark agency stuff. It's like reheating yesterday's pizza and pretending it's gourmet-fans spot the fake-out and aren't having it. Let's chat about this rollercoaster with a bit of laughs and real talk, like spilling secrets with your besties over chai. When a Lazy Repost Turns into a Fan Nightmare You know that excitement when your fave group drops a new update? Well, MADEIN fans got a major letdown when they saw a blog post that was basically a copy of an older one, but with member Yeseo mysteriously missing. This wasn't some innocent recycle; it dropped during a whirlwind of agency troubles. The original post was all about team spirit and good times, but this version? It felt like a quick fix that ignored the big changes happening in the group. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Full mouth dental implants for the elderly in Malaysia - see prices in 2025 Dental Implants | Search Ads Search Now Undo Picture it like digging up an old group selfie from your phone and editing out a pal without explanation-total red flag! Fans jumped on social media, calling out 143 Entertainment for being out of touch. This whole thing blew up in August 2025, right as the group was teasing comebacks and fresh tracks. No word of apology yet, which only amps up the frustration. In the fast world of online fandoms, slips like this can turn cheers into full-on rants quicker than a viral TikTok. Digging into the Heavy Scandal That's Rocking Everything The reused post is just the tip of the iceberg-it's connected to some seriously tough allegations. Back in late 2024, former member Gaeun, who was only 19, came forward accusing the agency's CEO of sexual assault. According to MK Sports reports, she described facing verbal harassment and unwanted physical advances in his office, all while she was still considered a minor under Korean laws. The agency pushed back hard, calling the claims false and hinting at some settlement drama that fell through, but that didn't calm the storm-fans stayed skeptical and vocal. Things heated up more in 2025 when Gaeun filed an official complaint, backed by a emotional press conference where her mom and supporters shared the painful details. Reports say the CEO even admitted to some wrongdoing in a private letter before backtracking, which led to Gaeun's quick departure from MADEIN. Then, member Suhye stepped back for what they called personal reasons, sparking whispers about bigger problems lurking in 143 Entertainment. It's like one of those intense drama series where every episode drops a bombshell, but this affects real young artists chasing big dreams. The backlash? Fans flooded the net with hashtags like #JUSTICEFORGAEUN and #BOYCOTT143ENT, pushing for real accountability and better protections in the cutthroat K-Pop scene. Fan Reactions Explode and the Real-World Hits Boom-the internet lost it! Fans poured out their feelings everywhere, with posts screaming things like "MADEIN just isn't MADEIN without Gaeun-this is heartbreaking!" Clever netizens even spotted weird edits in performance videos, suggesting the agency was trying to gloss over the mess. Some accused them of deleting critical comments to keep things looking pretty, turning the whole saga into a detective game online. Hoping for Better Days Ahead in the Spotlight Even with all this noise, MADEIN hasn't thrown in the towel. They dropped their EP "MADEIN FOREVER" in February 2025 despite the uproar, and snagged a gig at Japan's Kansai Collection in August 2025, plus hints of another comeback, according to MK Sports reports. But with police investigations rolling and fans not letting up on their petitions, 143 Entertainment is under a microscope to make things right. Looking at it from a young person's angle here, where K-Pop fever runs high with events like massive fan meets in bustling cities, this mess hits hard. It reminds us that idols are just folks like us, dealing with tough breaks in a high-pressure game-similar to how our local stars navigate online trolls and industry pitfalls. Fingers crossed this pushes for real changes, like safer environments and fairer deals, so the music can keep flowing without the shadows. After all, everyone deserves a shot at the spotlight without the heartbreak.
